I like your comment about making sure your guests are made to feel special instead of making sure your house is spotless and your meal is perfect. It reminds me of someone else who said," When your guests leave, you want to have made them feel better about themseves than about you."
I enjoy your content.
Love that, Rosemary!
I love this video so much!! My husband and I also love to host other families too!! We also have 5 little ones🥰 My go to meal with guests is chili and rice because it feeds a crowd and usually everyone likes it. One tip that I implement when hosting other families is asking my kids if there are any toys they’d like to put away that are special and that they don’t want to share (for example: special Lego builds). I find that this cuts down on arguments with other kids which helps all the parents have a better time! We also love to do s’mores outside at our fire pit if the weather is nice enough for it. I think all your tips are fabulous! Such a fun video to watch!❤ You are a lovely hostess!
You are a blessing and the Lord's light shines through you in all that you do. Thank you for this helpful and serene video.
We also have 5, with a new baby and what I have found helpful when hosting is keeping it really simple. I love to cook a nice roast (turkey, ham, beef) and make a huge batch of buns. Then I pick up really nice cheeses, mustards and pickles and we just to sandwiches and I will toss together and easy soup or salad. All the kids are happy because they a can make what they like, and the adults seem to really appreciate the simplicity of it all. All our friends have bigger than average families so simple is key for all of us!
That's a great suggestion. 😇
Wow! I'm impressed that your living room was already picked up and clutter-free!! Also, YOUR house is beautiful! Also, I love how you do everything with your kids. I've been watching your channel for the past year and it's always so encouraging and inspiring!! I'm constantly learning how to be a better wife, homemaker, and soon-to-be mom! Thanks for helping me on my journey :) God bless you and your family
I heard on a podcast once, a great hosting tip is to include guests in preparing for dinner. It invites them into your atmosphere and helps them let loose. This has helped me a lot during hosting, I’m getting help and making my guest feel comfortable. It could be as easy as tossing a salad or setting out the plates. Not very formal but it’s inviting. ❤
I admire you, your hands in the kitchen are an adoration to God.
It’s true. It can be uncomfortable and awkward to watch someone working hard and you’d gladly help… Humility is a beautiful ornament* for a hostess. (*I Peter 3:4)
@ yes amen! Sometimes doing it all to perfection makes us hit overdrive. It’s okay to ask for help sometimes. Love that verse.
What a host you are. ❤ Your children learn so many special gifts from you.
I love watching you prepare for guests, everything looks so welcome and the food delicious. Your channel is truly the best. God bless!!
Beautiful video! Love the music and your tips for hosting. It’s so great that you are teaching your girls the importance of sharing our gifts and blessings with others. 💕
With our big family but not a big home, I tend to host in the warm months so we can eat outside, so it's typically cookout style on the grill.
This video is such a blessing and exactly what I needed this morning as I prepare our home to host family this weekend. Thank you!!!!!
I loved this video! I agree about enjoying having fellowship in our homes instead of restaurants. I like to host, but I can let it stress me out at times, so this was a wonderful reminder of what truly matters.
My go-to guest dinner is:
Oven Roasted Chicken
Steamed Broccoli
Salad
Oven Roasted Potato Cubes or Baked Potatoes
Fresh bread
I don’t always do a dessert.
This menu is simple and I don’t have to fret about trying new recipes. I have other menus that I can use, but this is definitely my go-to/no fail.
I love your videos. Life can be beautiful with just a little effort.
Your children seem delightful and helpful. ☺️
Just loved seeing the girls helping, they’ve grown up so much ❤
What a lovely video. Lots of great tips. I love hosting during the holidays. I so enjoy setting a pretty table with a beautiful tablecloth, matching plates, flowers, candles and pretty goblet glasses. I like to have fresh water with sliced citrus (oranges, lemon, and limes) in gallon jars for a splash of color! I also always have unsweetened iced tea as an option. A charcuterie board is always something I like to make as well. So enjoy watching your videos and seeing the whole family get involved. What a beautiful servant you are.❤️
You are my favorite person to watch. Love your channel is growing, you deserve it.❤
Totally agree, a home is a home, not a showroom! I love your motto of using everything in the house, not just for show!
charming mother with a wonderful family❤❤❤❤❤
Your videos are so inspiring!! Your children are growing up so fast! I love hosting when we have company. Love to any updated routines, cleaning schedules. I have been trying purging as much h amd decluttering, cleaning before my arm surgery this week. Blessings to your family. Can you share your cookbooks you use the most? Love your recipes!❤❤❤
This was a wonderful video, you are so right it is better to open up your home instead of a restaurant, it was so nice to watch the kids helping, the lemon dessert looked beautiful!!❤️
I just found ur channel and luv it! I am in a different season of life with grown kids and grandchildren. I do have several go to “winter” recipes for company that r so easy and quick. One is lasagna, knock off Olive Garden salad and garlic bread or hot rolls. Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, carrots and onions or green beans and slaw. Roast beef with potatoes, carrots and onions with gravy and hot bread. Chili with an assortment of toppings, hot dogs and chips or peanut butter sandwiches. I usually do an easy dessert like a no cook pudding dessert, sheet cake or just plain old ice creams with an assortment of toppings and syrups. Setting the table the day before is brilliant! I also always start with an empty dishwasher, which is such a blessing! If ud like any of these recipes I’d b glad to send them.
This is probably my very favorite so far!! You are absolutely lovely and such a joy to learn from!!! God bless you and your beautiful family!!!!😘💕🙏
Oh the baby is so adorable
I know one thing we had were booster seats that easily fit on our chairs. When people with a young family came over we would use them. It helped with smaller bodies sitting at the big table. We like everyone to sit together.
Beautiful!!! Sis, have you ever read “the gospel comes with a house key,” book? It’s lovely!! ❤❤❤ You’re the sweetest ever making meals for your sick friends. Such a beautiful heat!
We love doing pizza parties with friends my husband built a pizza oven, we use the bread maker to mix the dough and ask friends to bring toppings, then it's just a quite cook in the oven. Everyone can make pizzas for themselves which is so helpful to keeping stress down. Once we've made the pizzas for the kids that is.
Always love your videos! Everything always looks so yummy and beautiful! And, it's so nice to see all your little helpers!
Awe. I love watching your kiddos helping in the kitchen. 💕😊
I throughly enjoyed watching this video so much. Great tips on hosting. Thank you for sharing.
Wonderful company and great food, it doesn't get any better than that! I love seeing your sweet girls helping, they are learning from the BEST! ❤
hey girl- loved the video!😁 yummy food as always!😋 Great job Steph🤗 Thanks for sharing the helpful tips. And always enjoy seeing the kiddos help you in the kitchen and helping Josh😊Have a blessed week😀
Thank you Steph ! I’ve long wondered how you do it because I struggle and I’m a grandma. My takeaway was , cooking does not stress you out because you enjoy it , you love people , you let your kids help and you all work together. The biggest obstacle for me is my perfectionism, I’d like to think I improved on that over the years and I believe I have but it’s still part of my personality.
I’m a perfectionist and I love hosting - one of the biggest motivators for me to be humble and gracious about hosting is to think of different experiences I’ve enjoyed visiting other people’s house and why.
So many great tips...alot i use myself..like setting table ahead. Also my husband has helped me alot to not worry about everything perfectly clean as long as it's tidy.Love to see how your daughters are learning young! I find it takes time to teach my teenage daughters how important having as many things done ahead as possible. I feel like it is finally taking root😊 My husband enjoys smoking a meat for me as well. However that is often reserved when we host on an evening. My go to Sunday lunch when i host is something like roast beef, potato and carrots in one dish for main course..or then turkey ,baked slowly overnight carved and put in gravy in the morning and served with make ahead mashed potatoes. Another simple one pot main dish is a bone in ham and add peeled potatoes and green beans in with ham and juice just before leaving for church. I usually change up salads and dessert. And many times , especially when my childten were your children's age my prep did not get near as far the day prior as I wished! You go,Stephanie, hosting and hospitality are going to be lost if we don't actively teach the younger generation! I m thinking especially of reaching out to everyone, not just close friends! Thank you for the inspiration! I also liked the emphasis on how we make our guests feel being more important. My mom always was one who did not get upset over broken dishes and it's something I always appreciated and want to mimic.
I love to see your beautiful little family ❤
You're amazing - lucky guests! Loved watching the girls help!
Thank you for inspiring others to open the door to their home!! I appreciate your calm and organized approach to hosting. I follow a similar multi-day process and it makes hosting more enjoyable 🥧🍰🥗🧆🥘🍝
That's amazing ❤
I love hosting people for dinner and really enjoyed the video. Stephanie all your videos are inspiring to me. I got married 7 months ago and we live on a homestead as well. So we're just starting up but my dream is to have a life/lifestyle as you do. I actually grew up on a dairy farm so it's in my blood. But my favorite hobby is decorating my house and I so often look to you for ideas as I love your style. God bless you as you keep on blessing others.
I loved these practical tips and watching you do such a beautiful job preparing your home to bless guests. I would so LOVE to hear from you on tips to be a more efficient homemaker. How do you balance caring for a baby, while homeschooling, while maintaining a garden/farm/making so much from scratch, and so often making meals for others. I have four little ones and feel like I am barely scraping by most hours of the day. I would love to learn more practical tips from you!
Love love your content . Thank you for the reminder to just do it and it doesn’t have to be perfect
Those little desserts look delicious. Beautiful home. It’s all about how people feel when they leave.
I loved this video. We also entertain often families with children. So with all my own kids plus the guests I really have to keep in mind making all of the guests feel at ease and welcome and special. I have a large collection of pretty cloth napkins that help make a table look beautiful since dishes need to be practical. Planning for guests is always a must. I would love to see more of your hosting experiences along with making the food look beautiful. I’m trying to get better at making presentation pretty. Thank you for sharing all of this with us. God bless you!
Great video. One thing that makes me feel very uncomfortable as a guest at someone's house is when they keep apologizing about how there house looks.
Thank you for taking us along, and giving good advices on the way! I love the lemon dessert-idea! When I host, I very often like to make 'one tray dishes' in the oven. Veggies on the bottom, meat on top. Use the stock from that to make a gravy. Everything can be made oven-ready the day before and put in the fridge. Just to chuck in the oven the next morning, on about 260-280 F. We often make what we call 'Heavenly stew' as a dessert. Finely chopped fruits, like apples, oranges, pineapple, bananas etc, and top it with berries if we can find some fresh. A little bit of juice will help the apples from going brown. Served with soft vanilla cream, custard or ice cream. Quick and easy, and no baking involved ;-) Have a blessed week, I love to see the girls helping you 💝
I love this video, thank you! Hosting is so overwhelming. I would love to see more videos like this. We typically host our family for each of our sons' birthdays. So, any suggestions on making those go smoother would be helpful. This video has definitely inspired me....maybe I won't dread it so much.
Hello Steph!! Wonderful ideas for hosting friends and family!!! I enjoyed this so much!! And your sweet girls helping momma is priceless 😊❤ Take care and God bless you friend 🙏 😊❤
I loved this video, especially seeing the pretty table setting! Our family is big and growing, and our friends’ families are big… so I would love to hear your tips for hosting bigger crowds.
My go to meal when hosting is to make a homemade chicken pot pie with a savory crust. I love hosting family & friends, unfortunately it’s never reciprocated. Love your videos!
Looks like you have a lot of good helpers! Your children are so precious!
I love to host and have family and friends over but unfortunately I’m not able to do that very much anymore because of my health issues but I know they understand
Your home looks so calm and inviting I’m sure anyone would love to come and set at your table especially the awesome food you fix all the time
May God bless you and your family
Thank you, Karen 🫶
Thank you for sharing your home and what you do. I especially loved how you get your kids to help prepare your dinner. You have such a beautiful family and your peaceful country/farm lifestyle appeals to me. I'd also like to say you are a very pretty young lady. I see you wear some makeup, but it looks very natural and light. God bless you all ❤.
Beautiful! As a mom of 4 ( even if my kids are now grown up) I really enjoyed watching this video😊
I admit hosting makes me nervous. I hardly host because of fear of anything that can go bad. This video has brought so much light and ease my anxiety. I think I can try again. ❤
Everything you make looks so delicious!!
Kids are always my special guests. I usually prepare some dish, which is kids' favourite. And I always remind parents that kids can eat what they like, if they take only sausages and not salmon, it will be fine with me. My favourite meal for my friends is roasted bellpeppers with goat cheese and fresh bread. And salade!
Thank you for sharing your process of hosting! You gave so many good tips! I love all your videos. Thank you!
14:51 If anyone is scared to try candied pecans without a recipe, here is one I’ve made dozens of times.
Whisk one egg white and one tablespoon of water until super frothy, add one pound of pecans and coat them. Mix 1 c (organic cane) sugar, 1 teaspoon each of salt and cinnamon, and coat the wet pecans in sugar mixture. Bake on parchment for an hour at 250°, stirring every 15 minutes.
Oh I love all your videos. Would you ever show how you do your hair in that bun? I love that look. 🩷🩷🩷
She has a video on this in her archives
Could you point me in the right direction. Which video would it be. Thank you so much

I host so much too. I get stressed mostly because the boys need something lol and i cant finish my thoughts... but i do it anyway. I love a clean, candle lit home with beautiful music playing... it brings me such joy!
I am a bit bummed how much groceries cost or i would have people over every week haha
Add dry powdered milk to heavy whipping cream to stabilize it and keep it from getting runny.
You are such an inspiration to my daughter and I and we really enjoy watching your videos. Thank you for sharing your life with us - we also love Jesus. We enjoy baking and wondered if you ever take the rind off your oranges and lemons before you juice them. The rind freezes very easily, so we always have it on hand when we need it to add lots of flavour to baked foods.
Please let us know your thoughts. God bless and greetings from South Africa
🌹🌹
You did an amazing job. The company will be very blessed. I loved all your candles on the shelf in the cupboard. How do you get so many? That has to be many hundreds of dollars worth. I want some but the price tag is a little high for me.
Love it! Can you share your sandwich bread recipe (the two loaves from the beginning)
Could you provide a link for your piping bags and tips please ?
I looked in your Amazon store front but didn’t see them.
Thanks!!
0:34 I love this ❤
I set my table with wine goblets too no matter what . I use it all too lol my favorite meal depends on time of year my favorite salad is pistachio, watermelon , feta cheese salad
Love this!
Thank you for sharing beautiful video. Entertainment at home dinner parties is a lost art.
All our parties have always been at our home. I prefer home, I dont care if home is small or not perfect.😂
What a great video topic! Love it
Oh ya you should freeze dried your lemon with sugar that would have been really good too👌
If you wouldn't mind.. could you share your vanilla cake recipe? It looks so light and fluffy. I'm struggling to find a scratch made vanilla cake and that is good. Thank you!🎂😊
I was wondering where did you get the set of 4 calligraphy wall art you have beside your kitchen table?
Can I get the recipe of the lemon dessert? It looks really tasty!
I agree with the way you host that’s the way I like to do it to not so much about my house about being present feeling people making people feel comfortable I’m at home I like I like the way you did it
AMEN Steph! STTB
God bless you
Where did you get your clear acrylic calendars?
Hi, I love your videos. Can you please share the extractor brand? the one used for the orange juice? Thanks again for the great content, Blessings
Please be careful drinking straight orange juice … a friend of mine went on a health kick and she drank straight orange juice and the acid ate the enamel off her perfect teeth 😳 … she had so many problems and regrets ever drinking it !
I would love to be quite a guest in your home, some day😊 looks so fun and beautiful & your home is lovely. 🥰
May I ask for the link for your mic you use?
