Recipes:
My Ice Cream Base:
1 quart heavy cream
3/4 cup maple syrup (or sugar)
10 egg yolks
dash of salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
Heat the cream and maple syrup until hot (do not boil). Slowly temper in the eggs and take off heat. Stir in salt and vanilla. Cool completely, then churn in your ice cream freezer.

I have been homeschooling for 9 years now and have had several different types of curriculum, some that I put together myself. All kids learn differently. I desperately wanted Charlotte Mason for my son when we started and he just didn’t like it, he has dyslexia and it was difficult for him. So this year we kept him on his favorite ACE curriculum and I tried Masterbooks for my daughter and we are loving it. It’s Charlotte Mason based, and it is so much fun. My kids wanted to start early this year so we did and we are having our best year yet. Each child is different and it takes time to figure it out. Give yourself grace mommas and give it your absolute best.

Oh I miss my homeschooling days. We loved Teaching Textbooks. Also loved the Mystery of History, Apologia Science and learning to Write the Novel Way. And one thing I did when they were little and just starting to write, each kept a journal and would practice writing their name each day, a word that they wanted to learn to write that later turned into sentences and then they would illustrate on the top of the page. A great keepsake for them to see how they progress. Use to get a lot of curriculum from Love to Learn. 🙏 for your year ahead. ❤

I wanted to share something I did when we were homeschooling our daughter. When we were studying the states, I had people (very nice and thoughtful people obviously) send postcards from the different states. It was great because she could see all the different locations and postcards plus postcards will normally have some state/location information on them. Not sure if you have a P.O. Box that you could do that if you wanted to but I’m sure with viewers all over the place, they would get some interesting ones.

I'm a 20+ year homeschool vet. Only my youngest 2 are left, 10th and 12th grade. If I were to do it all over again, I'd completely do Charlotte Mason style. Sadly I didn't learn much about it til recently. My 2 are reading The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom this year. Such a powerful story!
Love your videos! I’ve noticed you don’t use liners for the freeze dryer trays, they help so much, things don’t stick to the trays and its easier to clean❤️
Those peach rolls looked amazing, and gave me the best idea ever. My daughters birthday was this weekend so I made her a triple berry cake, so we have a bunch of berries and mascarpone icing leftover. I’m thinking triple cinnamon rolls with mascarpone icing.

That’s soooo true about note taking I loveeee taking notes it helps me remember everything so I’m a teacher now, and I make my students take notes even though I literally have all the handouts from the year before I write on the board for them and make them write it and show them how to make cute color coded notes!

You are so blessed to have rain!!! We've had no rain here in Central Ohio for almost two weeks and none in the forecast for another week, and it's getting up to 98 today. You can imagine how hard that is for the gardens, and my water bill.
I love watching you make all kinds of things with your sourdough and it has inspired me to make my own starter. I made my first loaf of bread yesterday and focaccia. Both came out beautiful, but I must say that the focaccia was not as good as the one I made a few weeks ago that was a Paul Hollywood (of The Great British Bakeoff Show) recipe. It was so good I thought, truly this must be what manna tasted like. The ingredients were almost identical, so I can only think that the difference was the yeast instead of sourdough, and I will probably stick to his recipe with yeast.
We haven't had any rain in our town in Serbia for over 2 months now almost 3 months it is a desert and our garden is suffering big time. And the sun is relentless at the lowest 35 degrees celcius every single day and for many many weeks it has been 40-42. it is insanity and yet our no dig garden beds are producing so well. The critters are thirsty and now destroying what is left of our tomatoes. We have had an enormous harvest so there is enough for all 😁

Love your channel and glad I can fast forward through freeze dryer stuff. Make sense for huge family. So many channels are so hooked on them but many of us don’t and can’t get one.

You're such a wonderful mother. We've been homeschooling for decades now. We use the Charlotte Mason method, minus the curriculum. Our days are spent heavily on read alouds and exploring interests. And then there's math 😢 😅

Girl, order you some precut parchment sheets for those trays! And if the space on the rack allows, double stack them with a parchment sheet and do twice as much! It already takes long enough to run food, might as well pile it in there! We have triple stacked bananas going now!
And those peaches look SOFT! Are they not like cheesepuffs? And dont waste yout time on those mylar bags, use a vacuum sealer and half gallon jars!

Please be very careful of some of your commenters… I’ve read some really bazaar questions certain people are asking you. I never comment on UA-cam, but I’ve noticed on a few of my Christian channels I follow getting weird questions . Two channels recently had DHS at their door from one of their subscribers, and one had their local authorities keep coming out . And so many others complaining about how the comments are getting very personal.
