Great work. I really really like good guitars, and I really really dislike bad guitars. I would lose all kinds of inspiration with such a guitar. Save up and buy good guitars folks!

I just stuck on searching for a leveling bar. In Germany, we have a standard (DIN 874, ASME B89, don't know the UK one) that defines the evenness over length in different quality classes. Many shops (worldwide) on the internet offer levelling bars, but none of them give technical details about the flatness of the tool (which would be very important for this tool). Can you please give me a tip? Or make a video about this problem. It is very frustrating as an engineer who wants to level his guitar to simply not find a tool with a protocol. And then I ask myself whether the 10 Euro bar from aliexpress made of drawn aluminium has the same tolerances as the leveling bar from Stewmac for 100 Euro.

My first port of call would always be StewMac: their tools are the best and they have a lifetime warranty: they are expensive but are worth it! I would not buy anything from AliExpress for guitar work. In the past, anything I have bought inexpensively from China has been trash. The best item I can recommend for you is the fret levelling beam from Crimson Guitars in England www.crimsonguitars.com/products/fret-levelling-beam?variant=32378997866631 (I have the levelling beam from there). Hellfire in England also sell levelling beams but I did not try them www.hellfiretools.com/product-page/hellfire-luthier-guitar-fret-levelling-beam-preloaded-ready-to-rock. If you want to buy in the EU, look at Guitars and Woods website in Spain guitarsandwoods.com/Tool/Tools-By-Job/Freating/fret-leveler-aluminium-400mm.html. Good luck. Victor...

As ever incredible craftsmanship Victor. Just interested to know now your view on if you think £300 would be good value for the guitar now you’ve got it up to your standard ?

Nope: without being snobby and no matter how much work it needed to get it right, having Harley Benton on the headstock would not sit with me. They justr aren't good enough! I'm more than happy to play Epiphone/Squier guitars. In fact, my gigging guitar is an Epiphone SG (and I own a USA Hamer which is the bees knees). Victor...

I've learned quite a lot from watching your videos, plus you provided me with some interesting entertainment.
So for this I thank you very much.
I've given the video a thumbs up and will do every time now I know its required for you to earn what you deserve from the videos.
And here's a comment to make double sure 😃
I've actually been pondering a Harley Benton for the last week or so as I've seen an absolutely stunning looking tele.
But in my research I've come to the conclusion that Harley Bentons are beautiful looking guitars, but the quality is very hit or miss.
I shall keep pondering for now.
Thanks again for your videos, they're great 👍

Thanks for your kind words and suuport! Personally, I would steer clear of Harley Benton's: they are too hit-and-miss for me. It is best to actually try before you buy when possible IMO. Victor...

@@FretFriendGWaL I completely agree about trying before you buy.
I ordered an SG from Andertons and just couldn't get on with that specific model.
So I ended up driving a 4 hour round trip to the shop to try a different model and exchange the one I had.
It's the price that draws me in with the HB, like many others I'm sure.
In my mind it's nearly worth buying it just for the body, and if it needs some work it could be a cheap guitar to practice on and not worry too much if I mess it up.
I've liked the idea of doing a fret replacement on my first ever squire strat. Just so I can still play it for sentimental value.
The frets are very worn on that after 12 years haha.
That initial set up fee though, buying all the proper tools of good quality, I'd be looking at a good few hundred just on that.
But if I can do it well, it should save me money in the years to come.
I've got a couple of guitars I'd love your hands to work their magic on, including a Matt Bellamy style guitar which I've made from scratch with a sustainiac and midi pad in.
Unfortunately funds won't allow that at the moment.
Thank you for your reply Victor.
I'll certainly consider if it would be a wise thing to do or not.
Shame I can't nip over to Germany to check out the HBs in the flesh.
      Kind regards.
      Tim.

Yeh i got a hb35 plus VB a few months ago, I had to spend close to £150 to get it to play just "Ok". A proper polished turd, the after sales EU support wasnt much better. You definitely get what you pay for with harley benton
