Yeah I understand where your coming from when judging animated movies, but I don’t usually call them kids movies. It feels insulting to the people who made them. Also I’m surprised 2013 wasn’t considered because I’m pretty sure people say 2013 is a bad year for animation.
@@gavinarbogast8467 There is definitely a difference between kids and animated movies, but most of these are usually made with kids in mind so that’s why I referred to them as such. Though Spiderverse is definitely NOT a kids movie. 2013 might get a video one day. But that’ll be for another time.
@@gavinarbogast8467No I get it. Animated movies are definitely an art and I respect the animators who work hours upon hours to bring them to life even if they are intended for younger audience.
Oddly enough, I would consider 2018 the year of superhero films because there were definitely a quantity of superhero movies during that time with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Incredibles 2, Deadpool 2, Black Panther, Aquaman, Vemon, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Teen Titans Go to the Movies, and Avengers: Infinity War.
The actual weakest year for animation was 1165 (what actually released then? Also, the teen titans movie ending is genuinely hilarious, I have to admit)
Last year wasn't an amazing year for animation in my opinion and even I think it's top tier solely because of Across The Spiderverse (sorry I haven't seen the boy and the heron yet)
