My video of the landings 👉 • Concorde's Last Heathr...
The last transatlantic supersonic flight carried 100 celebrities from New York to London and touched down at 1605 BST on Friday 24 October 2003. It was one of three flights that landed at Heathrow airport within five minutes of each other.
On disembarking, actress Joan Collins said there were "cheers and tears" among the passengers when the plane landed. Others featured in this video: Dermot Murnaghan, Robert Woodcock, John Hutchinson, Simon Montague, Philippa Thomas, Fergus Walsh.
Minutes before the transatlantic trip touched down, competition winners landed on a flight from Edinburgh and a third completed its trip for invited guests around the Bay of Biscay.
Airport operator BAA built a 1,000-seat grandstand for spectators and many arrived at Heathrow hours before Concorde was due to arrive.
British Airways decided to retire the famous aircraft after 27 years because it was no longer profitable.

I was there that day watching them land one after another from the east, it was the northernmost runway.
I didn't see this programme therefore, so good that they managed to get a very eloquent Raymond Baxter to speak. I counted them all out and I counted them all back.

Money my friend, that's all it's down to. Very sad really. Branson could have kept it in the air. He'd have bought all 7 but BA weren't having it.
