Aaah yes, the one movie that always changes people's opinion on these movies and make them realize why these movies are iconic haha, im glad you're getting to experience that! You can thank the director: Alfonso Cuarón and his amazing directing style for completely altering the Harry Potter movies into a much darker, serious and mature tone and even tho he didn't direct any further HP movies but they followed in his path.
And Daniela, i looooooove how you noticed Harry's outfit not being as tidy, bc one fun fact i remember about this director is him telling all the kid actors to wear their hogwarts uniforms and style it themselves how they want (you can see it clearly during Hagrid's Hippogriff class) bc they were teenagers and coming of age, so, like all teenagers, they rarely follow the rules without a little rebellion or having to express themselves in their styles of dressing that's just a little hint at how this director's mind works, i have so much respect for him.
And to answer your question about why snape never gets the defense against the dark arts position, it is bc that post is believed by dumbledore to have been cursed by voldemort himself (when he graduated from hogwarts he wanted to teach at hogwarts so that he opens the chamber of secrets and secretly kill muggles and do his usual evil shannaningans but Dumbledore suspected he was up to no good so he didn't allow him to have that post and it was cursed from there on, no professor lasts for more than one year, so even if they hire snape for it i think something would happen, and he'd return to teaching potions)
Now onto my favorite fun fact of all time:
The marauders map! As its name says it is a map created by a group of four guys that called themselves The Marauders, these four guys are: James Potter (harry's dad), Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew, they were best friends, it is an absolute shame these movies never did their story justice, their story is soooo vast and intressting i think it deserves its own movie or series the marauders have their own sub fandom in the HP fandom haha. Now Remus Lupin being a wereworld who was attacked and bitten at the age of 11, when he joined hogwarts dumbledore planted the WOMPING WILLOW tree that attacks people for a reason, he made a secret passageway underneath it that leads to the shrieking shack which was also all made up by dumbledore who encouraged the rumors that it was haunted. All of this is for remus lupin to safely go into on full moon nights and transform into a werewolf there so that he doesn't attack innocent people. After remus, sirius and james became best friends and found out abt remus' condition they all made themselves animagi so that they could accompany him when he transforms, james was a deer hence the nickname: Prongs, sirius a black dog: Padfoot, and peter a rat: wormtail. And remus was moony for yk the moon and being a werewolf.. the marauders were the pranksters and trouble makers of hogwarts
Speaking of animals, the patronus charm (expecto patronum) can take the form of an animal when u cast it and each person has their own animal form, Harry's was like his father's a deer. And fun fact about patronuses: they can change to the form of the patronus of the person you love. Another nod at JKR's creative brilliant brain.
Aaaaand when harry cast that strong patronus, the happy memory that charged that patronus was him thinking about living with Sirius...excuse me while i go cry at that its so adorable.
I promised you fun facts, i hope you enjoyed them

This movie definitely changed my mind about HP movies! If they all get darker and more twisted, I’m all in! 🙌🏻 also, thank you for saying that! I felt like that’s as a very minor thing that I noticed but now that you explain the thought behind it all makes way more then and adds to HP’s character! I love that you explained why he was in such a deep sleep because I honestly didn’t get it and why snape didn’t get get the position! I just thought it didn’t make sense but now looking back it with you explanation it all makes sense now! Wow! The fun facts about the map and the animals blows my mind!! Thank you for these Easter eggs! Are you serious?!! He was thinking about living with Sirius??!🥺 that is so sweet. Omg I wish that for him more than anything. I really hope we get to see that in at least one of the next movies. Yes, you promised and delivered!👌🏻 LOVE all your facts! Can’t wait to see more of them!! - Daniela😊

Lupin became a werewolf when he was 4 (about to turn 5). He was bitten by a werewolf that wanted revenge against his father for trying to expose his condition and for voicing his discontent over his release and his opinion that he deserved nothing but death. Dumbledore, knowing about this, made especial arrangements so that Remus could study in Hogwarts, like using the Shrieking Shack for Remus to reside when he is transformed and planting the Whomping Willow to prevent anyone from going through the tunel that led to the shack. Dumbledore even encouraged the rumours about the shack to discourage anyone from approaching it. And when Lupin was hired to come teach at Hogwarts, Dumbledore had Snape to prepare a special potion (that had been created a few years back) once a month at the week before the full moon that would allow Lupin to keep his human mind during the time he was transformed, so he could lock himself in his office without worrying he would attack anyone.

JK Rowling explained this: Chocolate is only a short-term remedy for dementors. Dementors are a metaphor for depression and sweets can cheer people up temporarily. Rowling shared that the dementors are a metaphor for her own struggles with depression. That’s why the anecdote is chocolate.

      No, that`s not correct.
Eating chocolate doesn`t just help because of psychological reasons. Dark chocolate contains more phenylethylamine than any other food and that lessens the level of depression, not the sugar like in ice cream and other sweets. If however, you`re eating ice cream containing a lot of dark chocolate
the effect is similar. Ice cream on its own can lessen anger because it cools your blood and makes you calmer. For example, eating chili can increase the level of anger, provided it was there in the first place.

Chocolate really does help when you feel depressed. No other food contains as much phenylethylamine as dark chocolate. Phenylethylamine is a neuromodulator, in other words, a mood modulator or hipener.
During WWII, Germany produced Scho-ka-kola and the so-called Tank chocolate (Panzerschokolade), which was distributed among all German soldiers.
American soldiers were provided with Hershey's Tropical Chocolate to reduce their depression level. They have been known for always having chocolate on them and giving it to children and women.

The books make it clear that Vernon despises anything he considers not "normal" to him. Which is pretty much anyone not just like him or what he considers respectable. I think that's one of the reasons Petunia married him. He backed up her resentment and jealousy of anyone magical but especially her sister.
Rowling has said that the dementors are her virtual depiction of depression.

    • @rafaelmatos5851
      @rafaelmatos5851 Рік тому +3

And to think that Vernon's sister is an even worse human being than him... well, that says a lot about their family. Also... Vernon did meet Harry's parents. Saying that he and James didn't get along is saying the least. At their first meeting, Vernon tried to act superior towards James by bragging about his new car, only to be caught by surprise when James told him that he had an immense fortune in solid gold (and that was not an exageration, since the Potter family is very, very rich). That got Vernon so angry that he and Petunia stormed out of the restaurant, leaving Lily crying with James comforting her. Even if Petunia did invite Lily and James to her wedding (perhaps because she was forced by her parents), she didn't invite her sister to be a bridesmaid. And even if Lily did invite Petunia and Vernon to her wedding, they didn't attend it.

"It doesn't fit in my mind, how someone can think about all this...."
That feeling is like 10 times crazier reading the books. There is SOOOOO much they cut out for the films....they had to. But it's amazing how every character feels so real, at every stage of their growth, and there are decisions characters made in the first 3 books that affect the person they became and therefore the decisions they made in the last two books. It feels less like reading a story someone just imagined, and more like you are reading a historical account of events that happened to real people, exactly as they happened. It's wild the way things link all the way through the entire series; I could never even begin to imagine how she mapped it out in her head.

Since Dumbledore (the old English name for bumblebee) stopped Tom Riddle from becoming defence against the dark art teacher, the person in the post lasts a maximum of a year. Almost like the position is cursed! The marauders were: James (prongs), Lupin (mooney), Sirius (padfoot) and Peter (wormtail); that's why Lupin could operate the map. Also one of Sirius's cousins is Narsissa Black, now with the surname Malfoy! - you will meet another cousin later in the films and the daughter of her sister. love your insights into the vernon/petunia/marge dynamic, also in the books they touch upon it a bit as well I believe where it's revealed that Petunia had been pestering Dumbledore to let her into Hogwarts and how very jealous she was of her sister - but there is a glimmer of hope in her, in the deathly hallows when they are making preparations for the Dursley's to leave - there was a scene between Harry and Petunia where we see Petunia show a bit of a better side to her, as well as Dudley and Harry getting a better resolution.

something the movies doesn't really explain too well, is why the marauders are animagi, they learned to be so they could be with Remus during the full moons, because they can't really be affected the werewolf curse while transformed in animal form, it shows how dedicated the 4 of them were towards eachother, its also why the whomping willow was planted with the secret tunnel to the shrieking shack, so remus could be safe there during the full moon

I sometimes think whether nevillle’s bad memory is due to ptsd or even healers tryingnto save a baby with obliviate or even actually getting tortured too, he surely has a strong constitution but I have so many questions about Neville especially as he can see his parents, he knows everything and his stuff was somehow worse than Harry cause no deaths but he was toddler, capable of retaining memory. There’s something to be said to how much resistance he seems to have to cruciatus too so I have so many questions way beyond “he doesn’t have the confidence”.

I absolutely agree with you! Looking back at it, the movies didn’t do justice to Neville’s character. He seems so silly and funny in the first couple of movies but reading what people have said about Neville and how he is the books and his background the deserved more of his story in the movies. He’s actually so strong. He had a big part in the last movie and I’m so happy he did. 🙌🏻 - Daniela

@@TheHappyCryersReact yeah, I think wrote this based on watching a few reactions channels and how they basically reduced a lot (with reason of Neville’s story) - sure the comic relief is there but we are made to believe his parents are just dead when it’s so much worse and even then as he in the compartment with dementors in the book he handles better than Harry except what to his parents tho never explainednin the movies is pointless and when’s he’s almost two so his memories would be even less foggy. Sure you won’t approach torture and dementia in these but Neville got a decent here and there when his cool wins do include a berserk personality with either plants or mass murder by madrakes or taking the crucio here and there cause he knows they won’t spill his blood so much. Dude BLIND A DEATH EATHER by sticking his dad’s wand on the man eye when they use a silence spell on him. It’s mentioned many times in the book just how sweet but just how easily sweet goes fist fight. It’s never about him he only fights if u offend his friends and family but damn that’s a well constructed character who can support Harry even while carrying bodies in the war and help him calm down. But anyway, the momento thing, his gigantic família of posh old people no way he wasn’t probed and poked either by the Death eaters themselves or in st mungus as a baby. Regardless much like his parents didn’t die and the old people in his family are often described as “formidable” , there’s certainly a constitution character sheet advantage in there and I know it.

There are some things many miss:
    - Professor Trelawney made a very accurate prediction.
    - Ron`s prediction for Harry: "You`re gonna suffer, but you`re gonna be happy about it.", was funny but also accurate. Harry was suffering when he found out that Sirius Black was his Godfather, but later on, he was happy about it :)
    - Hermione is frustrated about Trelawney`s class because she is a great student and has a logical mind, but Divination is something you learn on a soul level, not with your brain.
    - Remus`s name and surname tell us that he is a werewolf: We know Remus from Roman Mythology. Translated into English, Lupin means wolf-like.
In class, when Lupin jumps between Harry and the dementor, the dementor changes into the Moon, and Lupin who is afraid of the Moon, transforms it into a funny balloon.

I binged your videos last night and am intrigued by your wife's reaction since you have watched these movies already. A fact about my reaction while reading the books, I would have the same reaction your wife would have when it would come to a scene that may or may not happen, like in 27:57 "I need to pause" for me in scenes similar like this, I would put my book down and think "No this is not happening, No I don't like what I'm reading JK wouldn't let this happen would she?" Thoughts like those would run across my mind throughout the rest of the series starting from 'Prisoner of Azkaban' and the rest of the books! I'll say this without any spoilers, I threw my book down to the floor while I was reading "The Half-blood Prince" I was so invested in each character development both good and bad by the time that book came out. JK Rowling had me at the edge of my seat in that book and then the rest of the books too. Serious plot twists throughout those books had me turning pages! Looking forward to the next one! ☮

The books and the movies are on another level of imagination and creativity! We’re very happy to hear that you’re sticking around to see our next reaction!! 🙌🏼

Alfonso cuaron asked the actor to wear the uniforms the way they would actually wear it so that was a good point Daniella (Daniela?)

Hi there! That’s such a nice touch from the director. It definitely adds to the movie and Harry’s character. You can see how he grows within the movies with little things like this. Thank you so much for your comment! We hope you enjoyed watching with us! - Daniela 😊

What you're seeing is Harry getting hit by his hormones; he's now 13 and he's at that age where he stands up against injustice and authority figures. Hermione also is reacting to her puberty onset, punching Draco in the nose and knocking Professor Trelawney's crystal ball onto the floor before stomping out.
As far as Harry's aunt Marge goes, you can tell Harry felt Marge was full of hot air by his causing her to inflate and float away like a hot air balloon.

JK Rowling has said she suffered depression during the period she was writing these books. She anthropomorphized the depression into 'dementors' as characters in her books. Rather genius to take a debilitating condition and place it in the story as a feral creature that feeds on hope, love, strength, courage, and other warm feelings, making them natural prison guards kept in service by their own hunger and having an effect that makes it impossible for prisoners to find the strength to escape.
And actually, there's a scientific basis for Professor Lupin to hand out chocolate to those targeted by dementors: chocolate is a restorative for those whose happiness and emotional warmth have been drained by a dementor.
‘Eat, you’ll feel better’, says Lupin while handing a chocolate bar to Harry.
Studies have proven that, when we eat chocolate, our brain releases four chemicals which are known to be associated with happiness and overall wellness: endorphins, serotonin, dopamine, and oxytocin.
Endorphins are natural pain relievers; they interact with receptors in the brain. Their function is double: besides reducing pain, they also boost pleasure. They are released by the brain in response to pain or stress, but also during enjoyable activities.
Serotonin is commonly associated with happiness. People with depression or anxiety often have low levels of serotonin. This chemical is able to improve our mood, our satisfaction, our optimism, and our overall wellbeing.
Dopamine is involved in what is called the reward system: when the brain releases dopamine, the chemical activates parts of the brain known as pleasure centers, which make us feel good. Dopamine makes our pupils dilate, a sign that is often associated with love and attraction.
Oxytocin is involved in social and familial bonding. The brain releases this chemical in response to feeling loved, during lovemaking, and just after giving birth.

Absolutely! I 100% agree with your whole comment 🙌🏼. It’s so creative to take the depression you’re experiencing and turn it into something so powerful! What an incredible metaphor. The chocolate aspect is such a jaw dropping fact because of how true it is! We never thought of that until people started commenting it and then it all just clicked. Thank you so much for your comment! We hope to see more of them! - Chris

Interesting little fact serious is a constellation in the night sky of a dog so black dog and then Lupine is derived from a Latin word that means werewolf so all the clues are right there

If I could give one constructive criticism, stop giving her some of the answers in the chamber of secrets. You told her about Jenny getting the book at the bookstore.

We’re always up for constructive criticism as it helps our channel grow better for all of you. However, in the beginning of our reaction, I made sure the scene of Jenny getting the book in her cauldron was shown. My wife saw that already by the time I brought it up, right. I understand if you missed that scene, it looks like a spoiler, but I was just answering my wife’s question about a previously shown scene 👍🏼

Unfortunately, as reactors, you have to deal with copyright issues. If I have too much of the movie, our reaction video will be blocked by UA-cam. We try our best to include every important scene but having a large chunk of the movie in our reaction is just not possible. It’s not possible for any other reactor either. We appreciate your comment and hope you stick around as more reactions are coming!
