This channel is the best I've found on the actual mechanics of trading. Bravo.
This methodology is still valid today and is especially true for futures or options which are the same.
Makes sense why the open is more costly than the days-range price.
Found that out in first 6 months trading.

Spreads come down as the opening volatility subsides. I’ve been trying to use options as a way of increasing returns while scalping big names and it’s been rough. Even when you’re right, the spreads can hurt so you have to adjust your timeframe of trading to a more favorable range. Too early and your hurt by the volatility, too late and your hurt by the time decay and slow progress of the move

Truer words were never spoken vis a vis the 10am rule.
first thing in the morning sometimes I can get a great price or a great scalp or just both.
