Hi, I'm new here. I haven't worked full time in 10+ years. I've been on disability and went from not working to working part time. Now that it's not enough money, contributing to costs of a house, this is my solution. With my mental health challenges and looking at the past makes me feel maybe I can't do what I want and need to do. I'm scared but going to anyways. I just hope I don't give up and lose everything that's important to me. The more I do it more, the more I'll gain in confidence. Got it. I struggle also doing chores at home so then I say how can I do this if I struggle with that? Thanks girl. ❤️
As someone who suffers from low confidence, I appreciated this video.I graduated Summa Cum Laude, but still don't have the confidence to get a job in my field. Even though I have a Masters degree, I may go back to hairdressing because I felt confident doing that.
Dang! Hairdressing would make most feel very low in confidence because it’s such a high pressure job. One slip of the hand with scissors and you destroy a person!!! You already have that ability in you 🙂
I’ve always seen hairdressers as such an amazing career. My friend and I would always say how they seem to have such a creative, fun, stylish position. I get there is bad in every position, but it looks like a great job. Do it!! If you don’t like it as much as you did before, least you tried AND you have an education to fall back on. A Masters at that!! Who knows, maybe you’ll OWN your own salon.
It is funny that I came across with a reel of a guy shouting 'you must believe in yourself even if ypu don't' and I couldn't disagree more about his impositive attitude. I got much more from your humble and human views. Thank you 4 sharing ❤
great video:) love how you cover topics with your background in psychology, it's so helpful to understand certain mechanisms of one's own mind with psycho-education on the side
Wonderful video. It's so nice to hear about confidence as a continuum from someone. I think self love is the same but everything I read and watch says everyone either loves themselves or hates themselves and I don't think that's true. I'm working hard on both of these.
@@ElinLesser Thank-you for thinking about this subject. Perfectionism had a hold on me for years as well. As a child, If I got an A-, I was told that I could "do better"and it set me up to need to be perfect. I always thought I had to prove something and went to University at the age of 40. I graduated at 52. Now, at the age of 60, after achieving a Masters degree (undergraduate degree in Behavioral Science and a Masters in Health education), I see that there is no such thing as perfection. My new beautiful dish got a scratch in it yesterday. My leather chairs are scratched, my new cottage has all kinds of things that are not perfect in it. My youthful face is getting wrinkles.I now realize that perfectionism was my need to feel some sense of control and perfection is nothing but an illusion.
@@ElinLesser oh yes, it'd be great, especially since perfectionism has a lot to do with maxi-/minimalism! I think you've already implicitly touched upon the problem of perfectionism in various videos, but now it'd be fruitful to cover the topic explicitly as well :) Thank you for your work!
Thanks for this, just started a new job a few weeks ago and needed a boost to remind myself they would not have hired me if they didn't think I could do it!
I used to be very confident, bold and in your face type of confidence and I never questioned myself, I wish I could be her again, I was a goddess queen 😢😮
I loved your videos on spotlight effect and the impostor syndrome. I wish you could make more videos of this kind, although judging by your statistics people prefer videos on minimalism. Anyway, thanks :)
Thank you so much! Glad to know someone is enjoying those videos. Those types of videos are really close to my heart so this comment means a lot, even if they don’t get the same views as some of my other videos :)
Love this channel and you always make perfect sense. I am one of those social people who is socially anxious and I still question after the fact. People are confused as I obviously appear socially adept to them but ....no! 😀
I love this kind of video where you're citing peer reviewed articles! I've been loving your channel and am always curious as to your thoughts regarding your career and your life musings. Thank you for making videos and for sharing! I'm a bit inspired to make my own videos too, after having watched yours. Cheers!
Thanks so much! And you should go for it! I kind of started making videos ona. whim, and I've loved it. I'm all for more youtubers who value peer-reviewed articles haha :)

great video elin! love the honesty and hearing about your personal story! your youtube channel is quickly becoming a fave of mine 💛 please keep creating!
Thank you for your very informative presentation. Your knowledge of psychology and how it relates to minimalism is truly a great topic and very helpful for improving quality of life. Thank you for your hard work!!
Thanks for this. Do you see self-esteem and self-confidence as connected? How are they different? Maybe that would be a good video too. Just a thought.
That's negative way of thinking to think of what u did wrong and could improve on, then you'll always feel not good enough, bad advice 😢😮 it's best to just tell yourself you did great and not worry about it

Agree 100% … I really appreciate the way you explain & share your thoughts on these things!
What I really like about you is how authentic you are and how willing you are to be vulnerable. That makes it worth the watch.

Good point! I agree. Thanks for sharing!
I love your channel, and your way of talking psychologically about minimalism. Would you make a video about perfectionism? Please! :)
Yes please do
Thanks for the request! I’ll have to think about that! Love the idea.
