Thanks for the comment!! Check out my video on the VC if you haven't already!! The Seiko is my go to watch right now I can't get enough of it. The 065 is awesome that dial is spectacular.... can't go wrong.
I got lucky man! Mine is extremely accurate. It loses maybe 2-3 sec day but overnight face up or down it gains 2-3 sec. How was the alignment on yours? Mine is almost perfect except chapter ring mark at 12 is slightly to the left of center 12:00 indices.
Nice review. Its a lovely watch. However, is the Steinhart OVM MkIII a better watch for almost half the price? Although, this SBDC061 looks a bit more glitzy. OVM Mk III has a slightly more traditional size at 42mm case diameter and 50mm lug height, the smaller watches are coming back in fashion. My wrist size is 7.5 inches, so I could wear this SBDC061, but I think I prefer watches at max of 42mm.
Hey Gary thanks for the comment I'm a big fan of the Steinhart OVM also it's a fantastic value as well... I agree smaller watches are back in fashion I have an almost 8inch wrist so I have no issue with larger watches but I think some brands have gone out of control with the size of watches. Anyway thanks for the comment please subscribe I would greatly appreciate it if you haven't already!! Thanks again Chris
Good video thank you (although disagree with some points at the end- I dont need to see a pedestrian movement in a tool/dive watch and not sure where you can get a planet ocean with exhibition case back for $3k?)
Hey thanks for the comment! The generation 2 PO sometimes sell in the low 3ks on ebay. However you are right the Seiko does have a pedestrian movement.
I’ve already watched and commented on your follow up review on this watch and still say save yourself $200 or more and buy a Sumo. I don’t believe a sapphire crystal and diashield make this a better watch than the Sumo especially with QC issues on this watch . The Sumo has the same 6R15 movement as this watch . My only other thoughts are I would’ve considered the sbdc051 or 53 . I haven’t noticed as many issues as with the sbdc061 . The transocean is another Seiko watch I would strongly consider if spending $800 or more .
I totally agree with you. I had the 053 on a bracelet and just could't look at it. The hands are so ugly (and seem out of place, colored while the indices are polished) and the bracelet looked like it doesn't fit the watch. I've sold it and got myself a black Sumo (with $200 left) and boy, I'm in love. It reminds me of the Marinemaster in a way and it's so pretty and cool. Matched with a Strapcode Endmill it is just perfect.
It's a relatively cheap dive watch, do you really want them to use some of your money on an expensive box and carbon fibre price tags? Grumbling about paper prospex tags ffs
Hey thanks for the comment! I agree that's why I would never pay retail for any Seiko. I got this one on Amazon for 660$ which is way more reasonable. I wouldn't consider this at the 1100$ price. Please like and subscribe it would be much appreciated!!
That VC looks amazing! Also, I have the SBDC065 and LOVE IT! These are some seriously good watches for the price Seiko's asking.

@@WatchChris Will do!
Take note that most Seiko divers that you are paying 700 - 800 dollars for in the US in fact retail for well over 1000 euros here in Europe.
The latest Sumo has a Sapphire Crystal and updated mechanism with a 70 hour power reserve.
Nice watch, love my SPDC053. I got mine on Silicon.
Awesome watch !
The crown isn't signed, because the original wasn't signed. I agree that it seems strange, but that's the reason.
Thanks for the comment 👍 yea that makes sense but since it's not 100% like the original I think a signed crown isn't a crazy ask...
That's not true. It's not signed because they want to save even more money. All their new watches got a non-signed crown.
I honestly don’t get why people get so upset about the unsigned crown. It’s a part of the watch that you’ll rarely be looking at, why does it matter.
I’ve found diashield great but I’m pretty easy on my watches, so maybe it’s less effective if you give it a bash
Loving mine. I also had an mm300 “upgraded” movement but it was just as inaccurate at my mm200 LOL.

the sbbn marinemaster tuna box and package was top notch. that box that yours came with reminded me of the same box that my jade monster came in.
Yea it's probably the same package as the monster

You kind of seem annoyed at your new watch. You seem much more interested in the one you’re wearing. Or is it just me?
Nice review, from every side
I enjoy wearing mine more on a Uncle Seiko rubber strap!

Thanks Joseph all very good points perhaps I should get an sbdc033 in for a comparison... Might be worth it for people to see. Thanks again!
Watch Chris that would be an awesome video comparison 😀👍🏻
Joseph Pyburn Seiko just released new sumo “sbdc083”-black and sbdc081 green with 6R35 movement 70 hours power reserve, sapphire crystal,$738.

technoboy21 awesome and congratulations on the Sumo 👍🏻still think 🤔 the Sumo is one of Seiko best .
My SEIKO SKX007 has a better box 📦! Disappointed SEIKO will ship a X SEIKO on that cheaper box

Way to expensive to be considered a "budget" diver. With tax and conversion it's over CAD $1,150. Much better alternatives at that price point.

if the box is made in china,i guess what"s inside the watch is questionable.
Not a budget diver!
