  • Bold statement here, if you are going to own just one Seiko diver the sbdc061,63,71 models are the way to go. No other Seiko diver packs more in for the price period!!!!
    Thanks Homer for sending this one in, and selling to me. I look forward to selling some watches and keeping this one.

    I got one with a long term goal of a blackbay and mm300, however after getting this watch, its the one. I just stopped shopping for others after wearing it. Absolutely love it.
    Only thing i changed was the clasp because the dive extention was useless for me.

    I own the blue dial one, it's the 065. Love it! My first Seiko ever and I'm very happy with it. I definitely agree with the statement "If you're only going to have one Seiko, get this", it really is almost perfect. The 065 comes with both the bracelet and the rubber band but is a little more expensive. Mine is performing at a crazy -1 seconds per day, so I think I got lucky. And so far (4 weeks) I haven't got a single scratch on it, whereas with other watches I'd have a bunch by now, especially on the clasp.
    Nice video, keep it up :)

    Hello Rob... You rarely do such BOLD STATEMENTS and I appreciate it... thank you. It is very helpful for someone who needs some really exprerienced and thoughtful feedback to pull the trigger. Your video and your comments are very satisfying in my opinion and although this is not a SUPER DUPER watch, your comments on this are very strategic. I have already placed my order and I am willing to follow you in most (if not all) of your videos to pick the BOLD statements. Thank you again.

    The clasp is budget but the rest of the watch is top shelf for the price. Totally agree that the mm200 series is that one watch. Classy and sporty, quality watch. I think this is a series I'll be collecting many of.

    I got mine this week,I can't believe just how off the chart good it actually is,zero alignment issues on mine,every thing is absolutely on point, accuracy is at +6 a day,it's perfect....the only thing I did was whip that bracelet off and put it straight on a NATO,and it wears like my skx , they definitely pulled off some kind of witchcraft making such a large watch look so small on the wrist.
    Anyone wanting this in 40 mm stop worrying and just get.it,you honestly won't believe how small it wears.

    These models are the most attractive watches I've seen. The thin profile bezel, the angled edges.... I've recently got the model (international code) SPB079J with the blue bezel and silicone strap. All three models are just stunning. Definitely made me a solid Seiko fan.

    Everything you said about this watch 063 is spot on, I’ve had mine for a month and it is the perfect Seiko, I also have the coral sumo 069 nice watch too but it’s definitely a step down quality wise compared to the baby mm200, the way the blue bezel changes in different light conditions is so interesting it’s just a cool watch. Very close to perfect for me. Great video Rob. Thank you

    I just bought the SBDC065/SPB083J1 six weeks ago. I was going to check out some turtle models but then I saw this "Great Blue Hole" -version of this watch. The blue dial is just awesome. You just need to see this watch live and you'll forget what you were looking for at the first place. :) Some of you might say that the BLUE version is overpriced, but I don't think so. Just try it on your wrist! ;)

    I love this video. I watched this when it came out and purchased the sbdc065 at the time. Everything you said was spot on. This watch has the best of everything. After owning for sometime I agree that if i was going to sell my seiko divers this would be the last one i let go. The bracelet is really phenomenal for the price range. Its better than the sumo and monster. The movement is nicer than the samurai and turtle. The 62mas is a close second. I would say that this bracelet is better then the bracelet on the newer 62mas and willard models with the 6r35 even though those are nice bracelets as well. If you like prospex watches and have reservations about the bracelets being a little jingly then this watch is the answer to that. I absolutely love the 12 oclock marker in the chevron shape over the 62mas marker. I think if i had to pick all the things that i really like about seiko divers and put them in one watch the watch i assembled would look just like this. The only gripe i have is that they should have made more of them in different colorways. Maybe a silver/anthracite dial or even a white dial would have been an awesome addition to these great colors that they already make. It will be interesting to see how the next gen mm200’s hold up to these models. I love my mm300 but if i am being honest the 200 feels better on wrist. Great video and analysis Rob.

    I totally I agree with your take on this watch. I own a Rolex Explorer ii (40mm) black dial and a Speedmaster moon watch (39mm) and recently purchased the Seiko SBDC061. The SBDC061 feels like a high end watch but a great everyday watch.

    • @wc8561
      @wc8561 5 років тому

      Hey how do you find the size on the 061? I tried on my friend's Explorer II Polar dial and it's a pretty perfect size for my 6.5 inch wrist though I could go a little bit bigger if I had to..

    • @itsmekoske1
      @itsmekoske1 5 років тому

      @@wc8561 Honestly, I have similar wrist size as you and the SBDC061 feels smaller than what it suggests. Except the SBDC061 is a bit thicker than the explorer 2. I wear it with a nato strap and it looks it helps with the size.

    SBDC051 would be my ideal "one" diver. This lower end version of the 62mas reissue has a more classic look. I do not prefer the round indices on the 61/63 and the lugs are bulky. This watch is nice but I prefer the 62mas reissue.

  • @VersedNJ
    @VersedNJ 5 років тому +1

    I bought mine (spdc061) on the rubber watch on purpose, if I do decide to go bracelet will order a model specific Stapcode, haven't had good luck with bade and the rubber strap looks good and comfortable, wears well, I agree if that's the one, it's one worth getting. Have an SBDC 053 as well, both good, like the 63 better, do wear it rotation along with a new model monster, Stowa Type B B 42mm and an Omega Seamaster 300m new model. Right now wearing an Alpinist and bought it over an Hamilton field watch. Have to have sometime but divers. Only watch I think is in the league is my Orient Triton and it's out for repair. Great quality for the money, and is another watch to consider if you only want one.

    I bought one of the 061, and agree that this will kick a lot of divers out of people's collections. The hands don't bother me, although I would have preferred the LE hands. The biggest critic for me is the bracelet clasp, it just doesn't fit with the quality of the rest of the watch. some of it seems high quality like the hinge components, but the rest is just cheesy. Not a problem if you are going to wear it a NATO or other strap (or getting the 063 of course)

    This watch and the sbdc051 have been on my radar as possible end game divers (if there is such a thing). The lug to lug and total width are my only hang ups. I have even gone as far as researching skx builds using the crystal time case with drilled lugs. But then what dial? I have seen some Alexander James dials that might work. I found your comments comparing the size to an skx very interesting. After all is said and done would I just end up with a franken watch that I’m not entirely happy with just to try and make the lug to lug a few mm shorter? Oh the anguish! But I digress, keep the vids coming. Great stuff Rob!

    I agree with you for the money it's one of the best dive watches Seiko produce, I have a 61. The only watch I prefer is the Tuna but that's a quartz so not for everyone. I'm not sure it's Zaratzu polished though as I also have a Grand Seiko SBGN007G and the polish on it is noticeably better, but I could be wrong. 🙂

    You also spoke highly of the King Turtle and now I have both the King Turtle and the SBDC061. I think I need to get rid of one. Which would you sell off? Thanks.

    Nice review, Rob. I just bought another Solar on your recommendation.
    Question. Would you sell a Tuna 300 (033) for this watch?
    The 063 is stunning, but not sure if I’d be downgrading.
    Thought?
    Cheers.

      I have one and it's even better looking in the steel. Highly recommended, he's right about it being the "One".

    I agree with you about this watch being a nice sweet spot it design and not so bad in price. Its only flaw to me is... the Sumo. Under cuts it by about $400 and does almost all the same things. That extra money gets you sapphire glass and a better clasp for the most part. Just my thoughts.

    • @FatSamEIE
