I will never stop being amazed about the quantity of vintage gear that's still around and just waiting to be brought back to life.

I recognized the 873A Barcelona speakers right away as the Altec Voice Of The Theater speakers they developed in the early 1970's. Those 15.5 inch Woofs are killer but the horns have a narrow 10 degree throw for what they were originally intended for. They are however good in a home theater environment.

I want to see a full surround system of only them

@@LennyFlorentine I agree. Clearly one of the best speakers ever made, but will take up a lot of space. Even the two Altec Voice Of The Theater model 1234 set that I managed could shake an auditorium with the . You need a lot of power to properly drive them though. I borrowed the set for my wedding that we held in a mid-sized theater and they were perfect.

The best stuff from sony is the Vfet stuff. Those are incredible, the only issue is that they're running hot and the transistors aren't available anymore. But they sound really good. They're very rare.

I have the Marantz 2235B. I got in 2015 for a very good price. Of course, this was before the 2017 vintage audio gold rush. And the pandemic didn't help matters either.

Picked up a super clean Marantz 2325 at a thrift shop in 2003 for $50. Can’t believe the prices they command now.

I've 2 of these marantz set up one have the 112 tuner and the other have the 104 tuner with it. I also like the older stuff like stromberg/carlson integrated tube amplifier as well as a eico St-70/St-96/Mx-99 trio. I would love to have the matching reel to reel tape that goes with it. I don't have that much stuff, but as I said elsewhere, people will have to pry them from my dead cold hands as won't sell them anytime soon.
I feel for the tech who had to rebuild or repair these marantz computerised tape deck.

Your treasure hunting videos are terrific, but it would be great to know (without giving away anyone's privacy) a little more about each stash -- why does it exist, how the collection was assembled, and approximate numbers of items.

It's funny you talked about the SONY PS FL-7, Linear Turntable. I brought one in to be repaired and refurbished. You guys fixed it up and it still works well. Also I have its little brother the SONY PS FL-77 Linear Turntable that you also fixed up and refurbished. it also still works well. Both are nice heavy quality units. These are rare. Since finding mine I have not seen more.

I didn't know to communicate to you directly, but have you ever heard of Kinetic Audio speaker company that was made near Chicago until about 2018. I have a pair of Labyrinths that were probably made in the late 80's or early 90's. I believe they were over $30,000. I have a pair with optional stands on wheels. I have info from their archived website

Carver, whatever happened to Carver and magnetic amps, etc. I have a early 1990's receiver with a remote that uses a motor to turn the manual volume control up and down. Unless it was just a west coast thing. When I lived in Texas, Carver was only found in high-end audio stores, when I moved to Seattle area in 1990, Carver was found in a regional electronics store, Magnolia HiFi. Long gone, out of business (late 1990's???)
Update @12:00, ah there it is.

Carver was the higher end of Phase linear and both were designed by Bob carver. These were pretty good. It looks very similar to the Phase II line but the color were different. Very well made stuff. These have raytheon and RCA op-amp IC in it. Modular construction.
