Great Video, I have have had around 6 decent abstaining periods. My first couple of symptoms ranged from sickness and insomnia. My last couple involved seizures, severe paranoia, horrific hallucinations and delirium tremens. If you are in you first one or two … Please stay sober by any means possible :)
@@tuskedwings7453 best of luck … God willing it will be your last - they will only ever get worse I can promise you that. I can also promise sobriety is great, alcohol is a killer .. I’ll pray for you …
Was drinking almost every night after the kids went to bed,got tired of it..been doing it for many years so i just gave it up cold turkey...bad idea,my body and mind went beserk..Grand mal seizures and scary delirium tremens..lucky my wife found me on the floor and drove me to hospital....5 days tretment and one month sickleave....never ever again....now i love NA beer😃
I came out the other side of a 6 withdrawal, able to start eating again, and i didn't have the cognitive ability to fry an egg and make toast, i couldn't work out how to do it. Some insight into how people with wet brain live 24/7
Yea most people will go thru multiple cycles! I did too. But the more times you go thru it the harder it is on the brain. Hope this video provides comfort to people struggling with the back and forth
Thanks for bringing attention to this issue. A lot of information about new found (year-ish) sobriety is confusing and nebulous. One hears a lot of anecdotal stories about "relapse gets worse each time", but it's hard to have it sink in without your podcasts bringing attention to studies and your matter-of-factness explanations. Relapse is serious stuff and deceptively dangerous - it's disheartening it's not more well known and explained. Thanks for adding to the collective knowledge and bringing light to a very dark topic.
A lot of it is a game of telephone too. An influencer hears or reads something, then paraphrases it incorrectly, then another influencer hears that and paraphrases it incorrectly and so on. Same with the concept of alcohol being gasoline or rocket fuel. Just not accurate I have more episodes on my podcast btw. Episode 205 really goes into what kindling is and why it happens. My podcast is not on UA-cam it’s on Apple or Spotify
@@soberpowered Thanks for your kind words. I got my father to take me to the hospital today. I've got a support group ringing me tomorrow. I'm going to keep my promises to myself. If I see that I'm going to relapse again I'm going to try and be truthful with my father and family. The thing about alcoholics is we lie 🤥. Thanks again for your support and I'm wishing we all can get better. We are all brothers and sisters. We understand the pain we put ourselves through and understand what our fellow alcoholics are going through. I wish you well 🙏
Please don't hate yourself. It's now that you need love, especially self love. You did 3 months, you can do it again. It's not easy, but it's so worth it. Lots of love to you. Take the support that's out there. Good luck ❤
@@cjh0751 Hating yourself serves no purpose. You can’t expect people to help and love you if you don’t do it to yourself, relapses are not failures they are part of the journey to recovery ❤️🩹
Can’t say for sure, but you have to have withdrawal symptoms to go through a cycle of withdrawal, not just a hangover. I released an episode on my podcast yesterday (episode 224) about how binge drinking affects the brain. It’s not on UA-cam but if you search sober powered on Apple or Spotify you’ll find me
I'm on day 50. Days 30 to now, I've been kind of stuck...just not motivated, and every day is boring, but I go through the exercise and diet routine and stay on top of that. Is this strange low I'm in normal? Not really depressed, just some anxiety and blah
100% normal. Please go listen to episode 170 of my podcast, Sober Powered. I explain why we feel dull and unmotivated and what’s going on in the brain. It’s on Apple or Spotify not on UA-cam. You can find the links to my show here www.soberpowered.com/listen
How much would you have to be drinking in order for this to happen? This would have to be pretty heavy drinking am I right? Not just one big night a week?
I released an episode this week on my podcast answering this question in more detail. 1 binge a week is less likely to cause bad withdrawal. Check out the episode. It’s E205: kindling in alcohol withdrawal. You can listen on Apple or Spotify www.soberpowered.com/listen

I relapsed a few days ago. I haven't slept. I didn't know about the kindling effect. I made it to 3 months and then relaosed. I hate myself.
I hope that you’re getting some support to get back on track. You don’t have to do it alone.
