First time out of the Java finch nest

If you are wondering about the missing feathers... the bad guy is actually their mother. She does this every year. But don't worry, the feathers grow out again.
I wanted to see how many birds were in the nest... and two of them flew out from the nest. There are a total of four birds, one with completely different colors (don't know why).

So cute! Your mother bird plucks its babies too? My female Canary does the same thing with her offspring. They do grow back but it bothers the hell out of me.

Yes, she does that every year. Don't know why. I have lots of different food in the cage... At first she only picked on males but now no one is safe.
