A question: Is it possible to form your index (in the case of the formative measurement model) if there is no index established in the literature? If so, how would one justify the same?

Although, i have never worked on index creation and my expertise are in instrument development. Formative or Reflective index will depend on items and if they are interchangeable.

Yes, a model can be ref for, or for ref. Plus in a single analysis you can have all different typenof HOCs

Yes, apart from the indications mentioned in the slides/video, literature must be properly consulted and looked into.
