I have designed this hands-on course to provide you an intense yet enjoyable instructional experience that focuses on a large number of both introductory and advanced topics in SEM using the latest version of one of the most well-known software package, IBM AMOS (Analysis of Moment Structures). In this course I will provide the materials and instruction that you need to both develop a good understanding of SEM and to be able to thoughtfully apply a variety of basic and advanced models to your data. More specifically, this course will cover a broad range of topics such as
• data preparation,
• model development,
• model fit assessment using various indexes,
• construct reliability and validity assessment using various methods,
• different methods to improve your model,
• structural model assessment,
• hypothesis testing,
• mediation using Baron and Kenny approach
• mediation using Sobel test
• mediation using bootstrapping method
• moderation,
• and multi-group analysis
The best videos on SEM I have ever come across.
Thanks Anum
A lot of clarity used explaining this concept! I really appreciate the video you made. Thank you.
Thank you very much for your feedback! :)
Thank you sir for this meaningful presentation! I have struggled a lot to understand and distinguish between reflective and formative models before watching your splendid video!
Thanks for your positive feedback :)
Very helpful Saed, thanks!
Thanks for your comment
Great explanation, thank you!
Thank you so much.... It was a great help.
Thanks for watching
loved it!
Thanks Ma Lan!
Very best video
Thank you very much Afshan!
thanks for your time
Thanks for watching the video
Thank you professor! One thing I could not figure out is the "reliability" vs "colineality". In sense that if indicators are "correlated", they mean higher reliability. However, high correlation between indicators cause colineality problem. It seems to me that these two are somehow contradictive. Hope that you could give some clarifications in one of your videos. Many thanks again!

Thank you for the video. For an analysis of variance, when we have a formative scale of several items, for example, we average them to obtain a single score. The question is, can a multi-item reflective scale also be averaged to obtain a construct score?
very useful sir
Thank you very much
Reflective: construct-> items , generally similar scores, high correlation , reliability internal consistency alpha
Formative: items -> constructs, response can be completely different, reliability cannot be used
Cbsem: all constructs are reflective
Boxes: observed variables
Round: constructs
Reflective: factor loading (relationship bw construct and items)
Formative: factor weight
Sir, please tell how to do Invariance of Formative Measures (Structure invariance, Slope invariance, and Residual invariance)? Please share a link of the video if u have one...
Your presentation is made for us non-statisticians. Hahaaah. Thank you so much
I'm happy that you found it helpful.
Respected sir, please tell how can we statistically know whether our 2nd order construct is reflective or formative?
Please could i use amos with second order formative constructs because the purpose of the study is the confirm a theory already put forward. Please i need your answer
Can we use formative measurements with AMOS? Thanks a lot.
Is there any video about how to text a structural model with having a higher order formative construct in it?
Hi, i need some help on my question to determine whether it is reflective or formative... I using SERVQUAL model
Dependant variables: Occupants satisfaction
1. I am satisfied with the services provided by the management.
2. The services meet my expectation.
3. I am satisfied with employees respond and prompt services.
4. Overall service quality provided by the management is excellent.
can a model have both formative and refelctive consturcts?
Sir, construct cannot measure directly. We need to find variables that measures the construct ? How can I measure construct directly with 3 statements
amos can support formative measurement model?
Good question. And if we can't use formative variables in a measurement model in AMOS, can we instead replace this formative variable with a calculated sum (or average) indicator of this formative variable and add this indicator to the measurement model? Thanks for yoru answer Mr. Sharif.
@@waelnd1 This can be one of the options. Another one can be specifying the dimensions as separate constructs in the model.
