#roguelite #roguelike #top10 - Ігри
For those that dont know: Roguelite means your character gets stronger after death. Roguelike means your character doesn't get stronger via death.
The Berlin interpretation weeps.
Then is Balatro technically a Roguelike? After a run, you start from scratch. Only difference is there are more potential decks after victory. You can unlock additional items but they aren’t with you from the get go, so you’re not stronger when you restart.
@@GS-fizz yes. The terms aren't has strict has the guy says. They're used pretty loosely
@@GS-fizzit is much easier to get stronger once you have the unlocks in balatro though.
Isaac will forever be my number one because of the nostalgia and all, but man, Enter the Gungeon and Hades are masterpieces. It's so hard to choose a top 10 for me, haha.
Couldn’t have said it better. Those three are the cream of the crop for me. So glad this genre has gained so much traction
Those are for sure top 3, with BOI winning it for me as well just because of the sheer ubmatched scope of item interactions and synergies
Tiny rogues is amazing I put so many hours in and still love playing.
It's such a great time. Glad you're enjoying it!
@@Burr_I did not expect to like it as much as I do. So much fun.
The Risk of Rain series is definitely my favorite
I've played a little bit of 2 and Returns, and they're really good! Can easily see them in A LOT of peoples best roguelites ever
@@Burr_the music alone makes the series absolutely amazing. I truly think it has the best sound track in gaming because each track is just so damn good and not a single one misses
Nuclear Throne is by far my favorite. I have played Enter the Gungeun and honestly I did not like the feel of it, especially after playing Nuclear Throne. The mechanics and personality are just amazing
Great list. For me though Slay the Spire beats Balatro for a deckbuilder. So replayable. I have almost 600 hours in that game... Actually my most played game on steam
yup I thought Slay the Spire would have been pretty up there. can't wait for STS2
Slay the Spire is my number 1 game
You know the Roguelite genre is amazing when Rogue Legacy 2 don't even crack Top 10 :D Great video Burr! :)
Thanks for watching and supporting
Rogue Legacy 2 is a game that gelled so well for me. I love the art style and the gameplay so much
Rouge legacy 2 was such a glow up from the original, didn't liked 1 at all but can't stop playing 2
160 hours into dead cells and yet to beat boss cell 5 such a love hate relationship, risk of rain 2 is just a gem Becuase of the replayability and chaos
Risk of Rain 2 is my favorite game. It offers an experience that no other roguelite offers. At this same time it borrows from many, many, many games and sometimes its completely obvious. The way everything comes together makes it unique. Also the music is amazing and the items and gameplay loop is amazing.
Enter the Gungeon is definitely the game that made me a fan of the whole genre and still is my favorite to this day - nothing has beat it for me, even though I really am loving Balatro and Rogue Legacy 2 and would put those pretty firmly at 2 & 3
Rogue Legacy 2 is LEGENDARY. Such a good game.
Glad you're enjoying Balatro as well, and love Gungeon.
my favorite roguelike is death must die. criminally underrated. if you like hades and diablo inspired itemization then you would love this
Death must die is a great game, but I don't count it as a rogue-lite (same for vampire survivors) as the maps don't really change.
@waltlock8805 death must die has actually quite a lot of importance on its environment. With all the pickups and buffs being randomly generated along with the build variety it is very much a rogue like
New to roguelikes and loving it.
Which ones have been your favorite?
@@Burr_ Don't really know I'm up and down depending on my mood. What started me off was vampire survivors and enter the gungeon.
I think my favourite game on this list was Tiny Rogues. I really need to play it more, I've had a great time with what I've played so far.
Tiny Rogues will always be popular
I watched all your ranking videos and I just noticed that I wasn't subscribed, I definitely did now :D.
Great list, I played all of them and I surely suggest you to sink much more hours on TBOI, definitely worth it
I just bought Enter the Gungeon a few weeks ago.
I was out of gaming for 10 years, when i got back in, the first roguelike i ever played was Rising Hell.
I really love it.
"maple syrup currency" made me choke on my ramen
That'll cost 2 maple syrup currencies (the ramen(
I really find it hard to believe that you have less than 100k sub. Coz you are my most fav content creator for roguelike/lite/indie. Great video man.
Thanks for watching and supporting! I'm not the best with titles and thumbnails at times which can hold back some videos, but just making videos on games I enjoy mostly
Gungeon is such an amazing game and introduced me to roguelikes. I’m really excited to give Dodgeroll my money for whatever you they’re currently working on
I have over 300 hrs in Nuclear Throne. I could never get into Enter the Gungein because of it. I think the biggest difference is matches lasting 15 min. Teally addictive
Great list! I’ve put 2000 hours into Isaac. Once you add the Repentance DLC it’s basically a different game by the way, it’s much better with that
"Roboquest" anyone? That game is freaking amazing :)
Mid
Nah the game is goated@@PoorEdward
Gunfire reborn!
Was this the one that's kinda like borderlands?
Great video and even better resume. Im subscribing to see where you go next!
Thank you! Means a lot
I liked Gungeon at first, but I get frustrated with the seeding sometimes. I prefer games where I have agency in the build, but in Gungeon it feels like I'm 100% at the mercy of the RNG. Its still crazy well made, so Im glad it has its fans
Understandable and respectable take. Not every game will please everyone, and that's fine
Pretty solid list. It's difficult to narrow them down to a top 10, so many great games with different styles. Ive been digging Inkbound lately. Really good as a solo game.
My rough top 10 would be:
.Binding of Isaac Rebirth
.Enter The Gungeon
.Hades
.Into The Breach
.Dawncaster: A Mobile RPG (easily my favorite mobile deck-builder)
.Monster Train
.Risk of Rain 2
.Balatro
.Darkest Dungeon 2
.Slay The Spire
That’s a solid list! Got a good few I’ve been meaning to get into a lot more
Just downloaded Brotato. Thanks for the rec!
Hope you enjoy it!
@@Burr_ Balatro is fun, but I would recommend the deckbuilder GOAT: Slay the Spire. No other deckbuilder comes close in terms of skill, design, replayability, balance.
Found so little comments about Synthetik so here i am adding one to fix it. This game is my favourite roguelite by far. It has excellent variety of characters, guns, and items, great amount of difficulty which can be thoroughly configured same as hades i believe. And more than that it feels, looks and sounds just epic! You lot give it a try at least
Brutal Orchestra has been and always will be my favorite roguelike. Actually amazing game.
amazing list. my top 5 roguelites are:
(5)DownWell
(4)Wizard of Legend.
(3)Crypt of the Necrodancer
(2)Barony.
(1)Streets of Rogue
Sounds like you havent played very many.
Thanks for watching! And good list you got there! I could never get into Crypt but i know everyone loves it, and Barony, and Streets of Rogue are games on my never ending backlog
@@coopstain1728 oh i have played a lot of roguelites but i just like these 5 the most
Some love for Wizard of Legend! Such a fun game.
great list
Thank you! Thanks for watching
Etg is also my all time favourite, but TR does some things a lot better for example there are many choices: doors, traits, boss/shop items, shrines plus you can reroll these things with dice. The build making alone makes it worth buying: orbital build, pet build, on lucky hit build, on tally build, on dash build, aura build, repeat attacks build and many more. Everything has exact stats and descriptions, some of them needs work ofc, but overall its very cool to know how much crit chance, poison tick speed etc I have or items give me.
1. BOI
2. Hades
3. Enter the Gungeon
4. Dead Cells
5. Spelunky 2
6. Rogue Legacy
7. Shattered Pixel Dungeon
8. Slay the Spire
9. FTL
10. Dont Starve
Thanks for the list. You could also check Witchfire 👍
Thanks for watching~!
Withfire is the one on Epic right now in EA, right? If so, that game looks REALLY good
May i know what is the last game shown at the outro part? The one that looks like a platformer with some ice element icons
Spiritfall! Really good platform fighter (somewhat) roguelite! I played for about 15 hours
Perfect recommendation from UA-cam 🙏🏿
Thanks for watching and supporting!
Is there an easy mode for Enter the gungeon?
It’s funny because I’ve been playing roguelikes for years. My first ever roguelike was TBOI and I loved it, now that many years have gone by I cannot be bothered to play action roguelikes anymore. Hades I enjoyed it briefly now I cannot be bothered to play it, TBOI as well I’m so bummed!! But my jam lately has easily been deck building roguelikes I am ADDICTED to Balatro that’s my número 1 right now.
Just found your channel so no idea if you’ve played it, but 20 Minutes until Dawn is fantastic and has a lot of what you call out here that you enjoy.
Other than that my list is pretty similar to yours! Hades is my #1.
RoboQuest is the best FPS roguelite, full stop, I have played in years.
Risk of Rain 2 style run progression, Borderlands aesthetics, Titanfall 2 levels of movement capabilities (with the right gadgets 😉), and you feel like Doom guy with a banging Synthwave soundtrack.
It is a must play Roguelite if you like FPS movement games. 10/10. Each class has their own specific upgrades throughout runs. It goes pretty deep with each.
Don’t be afraid to look up some guides to get the good stuff like the Jetpack and Grappling Hook. Some of the hidden things can be really tricky to find.
I've only played about 10-15 hours of it, but holy smokes is it good (and tough) I think i only cleared 1 or 2 runs, but unlocked every chraracter
never thought that brotato would be there, but in my opinion it's the best survivor like/reverse bullet hell on steam (with soulstone survivor)
Risk of rain 2 is one of the best roguelike I've ever played the game it self, the multiplayer and the amount of mods makes it top 1 for me
I do love Returnal, got the platinum for it, I said this when I originally played it, it’s an amazing shooter and bullet hell but an ok roguelike. Reminded me more of Doom in terms of feel but didn’t have the synergies I wanted out of it like you would get in Gungeon and Isaac
Yea that's 100% understandable. Once you beat the final act the charm does go away a lot
I recently added a lot of these after I got a steam deck. My issue is I never know which I should play so I do a run on one, then another game, and so on.
Which game has been your favorite so far?
@@Burr_ recently it’s been Enter The Gungeon, although I’m not any good at it yet 😂. I sprinkle in Dead Cells, Balatro Isaac and Vampire Survivors. So many good games out there, so little time!
Prey:mooncrash dlc is extremely underrated, the main game is great as well.
RoboQuest is probably my personal favourite
This man needs to try samurai bringer that is my jam
Balatro! Balatro! Balatro! Maybe even Bingle Bingle! Possibly i might be a degenerate!
I have bingle Bingle in my backlog to play when i get time, it looks like another game i'd enjoy (i really love roulette irl)
I tried to get into curse of the dead gods but couldn’t. Something about the controls didn’t click for me, and I just bounced off of it after a dozen runs. Beat a few bosses and just called it a day. Beautiful art though!
great video @Burr
have you played INTO THE BREACH?
Thank you for watching and supporting!
i have not played Into the Breach, but it's been in my library for quite some time
@@Burr_ damn, I envy you so much, that all of this game is still unknown to you :)
Looking forward to that 50min video about "how good the Into the breach is" :)
@@Burr_ you're missing out man. game is an absolute banger. playing it just once will get you hooked
Heroes of Hammerwatch is also a fun time.
I've heard very good things about it. Havent heard as much about the second one
@Burr_ so there is Hammerwatch, Hammerwatch II, and Heroes of Hammerwatch.
Hammerwatch 1 and 2 are RPGs. Heroes of Hammerwatch is a rouge lite set in the same universe. It's a slower dungeon crawler but I do enjoy it even if I don't play it often.
what is the game in the background at the start of the video
Curse of the Dead Gods is the first game in the video. Second is Exit the Gungeon. Third is Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor. Forth is Dead Cells
Have you heard of soul knight? It’s another roguelite just like enter the gungeon.
I am so cool for beating dead cells on 5bc (thats 110 hours of my life im never getting back)
wow what a list
Hahaha what a list Mark
indeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed
My favorites are definitely Hades and Binding of Isaac. Just a suggestion: I personally really loved AK-Xolotl ❤
please try Voidigo i think you will love it
I have played it for a little bit and made a video on it, but do need to play it a lot more
have you played nova drift?
I have not! Have heard good things though
Two of my tops are star of providence and revita.
Crazy how no one is talking about spelunk 1&2, god tier games
The amount of lists I see ETG snubbed from… glad somebody realizes how good it is
I am eagerly waiting for any news from Dodgeroll. Enter and Exit the Gungeon are both great
Have you tried shotgun king?
I really like enter the gungeon but I'm so bad at it that I stopped playing lol
Also checkout the game “rotwood” it’s from klei, like the game “don’t starve” etc it’s fun and early access
You should definitely try out Bloody Hell, it's Free.
I highly… HIGHLY recommend Revita. It deserves so much more attention, it’s kinda like a baby between Binding of Isaac and Neon Abyss. It’s *chefs kiss.* the final final boss is cool asf too
I've actually played about 30 hours of Revita and agree 100% that it needs more attention. I see a lot of Isaac inspiration in it and even like it more than Neon Abyss
@@Burr_ same here. I like it wayyyy more than Neon Abyss, i think it just has so much character (not to say that NA doesn’t) and the gameplay just f e e l s so much better
I always watch these type of videos to see if noita gets the respect it deserves but hardly see it mentioned :/
I haven't played Noita, but do hear how good it is. Looks crazy hard though
@@Burr_ strongly recommend, so much variety and replayability, it’s what got me into the genre
@@Burr_ Strongly recommend. One of my most favorite games ever even though I'm not generally into roguelikes.
That stupid rat fight!
I've been close to beating it a few times
which game is it on 0:14?
Deep rock galactic: Survivor
Wizard Of Legend is a must play if u didn’t already!
try inkbound and monster train the same creator with very unique takes on rougelike
and spiritfall is basically hades mixed with smash bro
I tried to dive into Balatro three times and I simply could not get the appeal of it.
Understandable. not everyone can get into every game
1. Returnal
Returnal was a great game! Think its on playstation's gamepass too :)
That makes it so much better. I don't know much about Sonys little gamepass thing, but a free 70 dollar game is always nice
check out wall world it's similar to dome keeper
Roguelikes you Should try
Barony - Dungeon Crawler
Synthetik Ultimate - top down shooter
Barony has been on my list FOREVER it feels like. Need to look up Synthetik Ultimate though
@@Burr_ Those 2 are my favorite Roguelikes of All Time, both incredible in their own rights
Synthetik might feel like a more mechanically intricate version of ETG, based on headshots and active reloads, with a really good difficulty tuner (second only to Hades one)
Barony is just great haha, hard as balls too, all about meele & magic & slowly getting to understand how everything works
Synthetic 2 is my all time favorite rougelike
Have you ever played the 1st game? I really think they blundered with the 2nd part and love original game way way better
For me, Darkest Dungeon (both parts) feel less like Roguelikes, mainly because they focus on strategy instead of randomness.
Still great games
My favorite roguelikes/lites...or at least the ones I've played that would be in the highest tier, even though I suck at all of them lol
The Binding of Isaac
Enter the Gungeon
Returnal
Risk of Rain 2
Dead Cells
Hades
That's it. I've played a good amount of other roguelikes/lites but no others that I would put on the same level as these.
U need play to much more isaac 👍
HORDE SURVIVOR ROGUELIKES/LITES DO GET BORING AFTER AWHILE.
Usually takes around 8-10 hours for me, but Brotato was special
Try Halls of Torment :)
Balatro is so good
Going to be hard to beat it in terms of best roguelite of 2024
Get lost in the void known as Noita.
Isaac 1st and then Gungeon. If it was graphics and controls than Gungeon would win it - they're both beyond amazing games but Isaac could definitely do better in that way. Where Isaac shines though is the freedom to break runs and to completely ruin others - even with descriptions on it can be hard to know what effect items can have. Balatro hits on something similar but just doesn't quite get to the same heights, Isaac also really does have a stupid amount of content which helps, once you unlock some of the DLC as well - you'll have a blast deciding to what to try and unlock and some of the crazy new areas there are.
The absolute Endgame bosses for Isaac is something else as well if you've managed to not spoil it for yourself.
Shout out to Dungeons of Dredmor - consistently overlooked game throughout the years, rumor's of a remake/sequel is in the works - so lets hope!
Dead Cells and Slay the spire are the best for me
I still play Nuclear Throne over all these.
try Dicey Dungeon
oops hades 2 is out looks like you're gonna have to revise this
you should play dreamscaper
What about “Cult of the Lamb”?
Good game! but not a top 10 for me
Dang no atomicrops or cult of the lamb?
I haven't played Atomicrops, but it's been in mu library for a bit, and Cult of the Lamb is great, but not great enough for my top 10, maybe top 20
@@Burr_ hey appreciate the response.
it’s ROUGELITE??? i thought it was ROUGELIKE
Get Nuclear Throne ASAP.
Hades #1, rogue legacy 2 #2, ziggurat 2 #3, roboquest #4 deadcells #5, heroes of hammerwatch #6, risk of rain 2 #7, curse of the dead gods #8
VERY good list. Rogue Legacy 2 is probably 11 or 12 for me, such a good game. Roboquest is also high on it, need to play it more
@Burr_ ziggurat 2 is superior to roboquest imho.
No slay the spire or risk of rain 2?
Nooo. Havent played them as much, but i do want to do a longer depth video on slay the spire one of these days
@@Burr_ it is the perfect time to get into Slay the Spire as STS 2 has finally been announced after around 6-7 years!
STS is an amazing game honestly you definitely need to give it a shot. Many people have thousands of hours in it that’s how good it truly is 😩, especially with mod support bringing a lot to the game as well if you’re into that.
i subbed bc you had gungeon at 1. only right answer
Thanks for subbing!
Spelunky and Spelunky 2 my favourites. And, Noita of course.
Roboquest, spelunky, nice death???
Roboquest, I love. Not top 10 worthy though. Spelunky, never got into. Nice Death? Have a nice death i presume? Good game, want to revisit it
Vampire survivors completely snubbed
Endless Dungeon anyone? Seems not so popular I think.
you should play noita
Some games to check out not mentioned:
Dawncaster on mobile
Streets of Rogue
Monster Train
Shogun Showdown
