- My pack goats "Bill" & "Levi" as well as my dogs "Ash" & "Juni" loved this wild camping overnight trip. we all enjoyed the peacefulness of Nature. A real first person ASMR experience. I cooked my most ambitious meal yet, a gourmet steak dinner that would be appreciated in the finest of restaurants using the Firebox Freestyle Stove in its eight panel fire pit configuration. I fly fished for trout the whole time I was there but was only able to catch one nice brookie 👍😎
Our modern lives are stressful! With everything that's going wrong in the world these days it's nice to escape to the peace & quiet of the forest. However, being that we're also overly stimulated from living in the information age and everyone having a personal entertainment system in our pocket, the contrast between regular life and camping life can leave us feeling bored. That's where camp, cooking, fishing and hanging out with my four legged friends comes in. I'm never left wondering what to do...for the most part I keep busy. So, if i'm not resting, how is it that I come away feeling restored and ready to take on the challenges of regular life with a little more fuel in the tank and a renewed commitment to be the best husband, father and fellow human being that I can be? It's not about a physical rest but rather a break from the emotional and psychological stress. A re-grounding of sorts. When I start feeling like I'm just getting by, I know it's time to get out on another one of these rejuvenating escapes to the pure and unquestionable integrity of the natural world were everything is truly as wonderful as it seems. Where I can let my guard down and soak up all that undeniable goodness and re-calibrate my core self by realizing or remembering my place in the universe. When I'm in wild natural places that have gone unchanged for thousands of years, I get to see how fast the fabricated world we live in shifts. What is true today will be proven false tomorrow. Buildings that you watched go up are being torn down for what's next. It's easy to see why everyone is stressed out all the time. Our modern lives need the stability that can only be found in nature. I'm a true believer.
You may have noticed that my camp cooking gear is much more specialized than what you see at your local outdoors shop. That's because I am a product designer / inventor who has focused in on this type of gear and I use my camping trips to explore cool new way to use the products I sell. By personally using what I offer I give my customers ideas on how they can better enjoy my products but I also test my gear to an extreme to be sure that any shortcomings are addressed. It's very important to me that my customers feel confident in my products because I want my gear to enhance my customers outdoor experiences. Gear failures are not an option because of how much distraction that can cause to an adventure that may have been months or even years in the planning. Some people are only able to get out once a year or maybe even once every two or three years so it's very important to me that everything functions as it should so that everyone can get the most out of their precious moments in nature.

Cooking on the firebox is so intuitive. And the smell of wood smoke in the food; nothing can beat that. You and the pack animals make a great team; they simply flow with you. So peaceful.

That, sir, was a privilege to watch, in every respect. I have never seen pack goats, or dogs with their own gear. They follow so intelligently and faithfully, i love the interaction between them all and yourself. Great interactions, obvious love for them, and their devotion to you. My own two dogs watched it closely too, i am sure they were looking at me and saying " Hey brother where are OUR packs, we want one too" they already have their own sleep gear and bags. The scenery, the peace and quiet, (no dumb annoying music) a real and very rare privilege. Great ideas for food and gear, I could almost taste it, had to go and cook it for myself, superb. Thanks for a wonderful experience from the UK, England. I subscribed. It struck me that your accent reminds me of an old favourite, the quiet voice and manner of Clayton Moore, The Lone Ranger, which my father loved and we shared often when i was a child and still watch in his memory. We got back very late last night from a canoe camping trip (with the FreeStyle of course); watching your video this morning really makes us want to turn around and head back out. Thanks for the video, it is enjoyable to watch and very relaxing. The steak, potatoes & spinach+ definitely made for a gourmet meal!! The breakfast was just as good - those eggs were perfect! For us and what we do, the FreeStyle is a perfect piece of equipment to have. We each carry our own Firebox stove and combine them when more BTUs is needed or just a bigger cooking surface. We alway aim to have two complete independent packs when we travel, in case of emergency and something happens to a pack. This stoves serve our needs perfectly thanks for this amazing concept.

@@fireboxstove it's really intuitive but I can't believe I never saw pack goats before. Especially since they have horns to keep the coyotes off them. And between two dogs and two goats, even a mountain lion wouldn't dare mess with them. So that just leaves you with a pew pew to deal with bears, but the dogs would warn you or chase them off too. This looks great. Everyone is having fun too.

that is some luxury camping based on the size of the goat packs. You could bo for weeks without a huge pack on your own back and no resupply! Love it.
The packs look fuller than they actually are. Since they aren't very full I use my uncompressed sleeping bag the dog's blanket My down coat my down pants all loose to take up space so the other gear doesn't bounce around. There's only about 20 lb on each goat. Thanks for the nice comment 👍😎

Next level... went from cooking instruments to goats. you should include as many goats as you need to traverse without having to carry too much yourself so you preserve your health as much as possible. sick content

@@fireboxstove that was one of the coolest things I ever seen with animals. I knew goats could be similar in personalities like the dogs love humans but I never thought about them as pack animals. I am glad I learned this today.
