Hands down....you have the best wet shaving content. I'll watch others to see what products are out there occasionally, but your channel is always exceptional. Always pick up a tip or two from your content.
Wow. I really appreciate that. I put a lot of time and effort into my videos and it’s shows when I get comments like this from viewers. Thanks for all your support and encouragement means so much to me.
Thanks. I am still trying lots of different shave soaps and blades. So far the Ariana & Evans shaving soaps are a real favorite. I would also recommend "The Blades Grim" shaving soap. Keep those great shaving vids coming!
Thanks for not editing out your nicks. Reminds me not to be too hard on myself when I don’t have the perfect shave every time.
Thanks. It was that chopping stroke when I was going around my goatee. Chopping wood lead to two cuts.
No matter what you shave with appart from electric razor shaving your going to get Nick's from time to time that's just a fact of shaving life.
💯
I'm 74 years old and just started wet shaving a few months ago. I started with the Rockwell 6s and absolutely love it but did get a little tired of changing plates so a month or so ago I bit the bullet and bought the T2 stainless steel and it is a game changer. I'm still experimenting with different creams and soaps but so far I think I like Proraso and Rockwell the best. I really enjoy your videos and enjoy all the tips you provide.
Thank you much. Great razor's
I purchased the T2 SS with the Christmas sale. It really is a great razor. it is as smooth as people say. It goes from very mild to aggressive at 6. I use it most of the time on 6 to start than drop it down to 4 or 3 for second pass and third pass. I found Nacet blades to work great with this this razor. Love the butterfly feature. Never thought i would value the butterfly feature so highly.
💈👍
Awesome content as always! Thanks David
Welcome. Thanks for watching.
Great vid. Looks like a super razor. Been using the Personna blades and love the shaves. Also finding that Stirling Lavendar soap works awesome. Great to see you back in 2024. Keep em coming!!
Good stuff!
Another great review ! Keep em’ coming.
Thanks! Will do!
Love the channel and videos......got my T2 last week and absolutely love it! Highly recommend it! Thanks.
Glad you enjoy it! Thanks for your support
Love my Rockwell 6s so much, decided to use your affiliate link and discount code to get the Rockwell T2 in stainless steel. Thank you for your help. Love your channel. Excellent info and shaves.
Nice. Thanks for your support
Really glad I found your channel, my razor broke recently so I was researching new models, and not only did I find a comparison of the ones I was considering, I found out that I was shaving almost completely wrong, I was literally down to just dry shaving because I always felt water or shaving cream just got in the way and when my skin dried, I immediately felt the stubble, I started dry shaving and it immediately felt smoother than anything, which I guess may be a skill thing and sensitivity preference, but seeing these videos shows me that there's more technique out there than razor at angle next to skin
Thanks for your support greatly appreciated. I have a lot of tutorial videos? I always go over technique or give some sort of tip and every video I do. Welcome aboard.
I agree, you have the best asmr/shaving videos. And I enjoy your commentary too. I don’t have much of a beard to shave but I really enjoy watching your videos. Keep your spirits up I’m sure your subs will sky rocket soon. Also, your like the only channel I’ve subscribed to on UA-cam and I get lost down the rabbit hole frequently. Lol. Anyway like I said BEST wet shaving/ asmr with commentary videos on UA-cam. 🤘🏼 excellent content. Maybe explore more soaps and describe the smells of them. Many blessings
Thanks for the encouragement. Greatly appreciated.
I bought the stainless steel t2 because of your review of it and I enjoy it very much. As always I enjoy watching your helpful reviews, keep it up!
Thanks for your support. The T2 ss is my favorite. Such a smooth, shaving razor
I finally broke down and bought the T2 (gunmetal) during the last Black Friday sale and I'm glad I did. What a great razor!
I'm super happy that you took advantage of that huge savings. Thanks for all your support.
Nice shave. My favorite razors Rockwell and Yates with my favorite Personna comfort blades. They are the best. I will have to try the Rockwell shave cream. Have a great week. 👍
Mine too!
The T2 is a great razor and I have mastered my face and neck but I can't shave my head without a few nics. I only use personna cc blades now .I have perfected my whole head with the 6c but I'm sure with more practice I will get perfection with the T2. I love rockwell products though and your channel is what brought me to the best as my first. Thanks brother!
Well said! Thanks for your support. Very much appreciated
Nice shave way to keep it real !!!!!
Thanks 👍
Thanks for all the tips. I purchased a Rockwell 6C and I have not been able to get a clean shave without cutting the heck out of my face. I will keep dialing it in but have decided to give the Henson a try. Wish me luck!
The razor and blade combination is huge. I would definitely buy variety pack of razor blades if you haven’t done that yet.
Been looking at getting something more aggressive then my Dr. Squatch Green Henson AL13 (mild). Just ordered a Rockwell T2 Gunmetal kit through your link. Thank you for the good reviews and info that helped me pick it. 😎👍
Great razor. Thanks for your support. It is greatly appreciated.
Great video love the outtakes made me laugh. Now I really can't wait to get my T2 stainless. Gotta watch those razors they will bite ya.
Thanks 👍. I like to show my mistakes. Because we all make them and I'm no shaving guru, that's for sure. I dislike, making videos and throwing in my two cents here and there.
I purchased the Gunmetal version during a Black Friday sale with West Coast Shaving and I just started using it in the New Year. Wow! It's great. I love the fact that it takes quite a number of rigid twists to open it up. There is definitely no rattle. I use the Rockwell razors it came with, which are good, but the Nacet blades work great with it! IMHO of course😊
💈👍
Another nice shave for you! I'm in Wisconsin, so I feel the cold just as much as you, man!
I tried using the T2 myself and while it was pretty nice, I think it is a bit aggressive for me (like a lot of things are), but my sweet spot was around like a 2.5-3 setting, but if I got too low, the blade wouldn't get close enough yet I was a bit more prone to get cut, so I'd have to take my time. I've been using my classic Gillette Slim Adjustable razor for the past few shaves and that is my preferred adjustable razor; I can't get enough of that thing.
I also tried using the Rockwell shave soap (and not the cream), but I'm finding that I can't use a lot of commercial shave soaps and creams because of the ingredients (like with Proraso, Cella, Truefitt & Hill, and Taylor of Old Bond Street). Either the ingredients make me break out and irritate me, or something happens to my skin where I just get uncomfortable shaves and I am more prone to cuts, so I stick with mostly artisan-based shaving products now from Ariana & Evans, Barrister & Mann, House of Mammoth (which I'm trying a lot of the house now and HOLY JESUS their shave soaps are INCREDIBLE), Catie's Bubbles, and others...and those shave soaps give me amazing shaves almost every time. 😊
Nice review. Thanks for sharing. I'm sure it would be very helpful to a ton of viewers
Hello Ohio!
I've been dating this safety razor for a long time, and I'm definitely going to buy mine this year (here in Brazil, there are resellers, importing it will be very expensive, and I'm not so comfortable with money lately). I'm going to buy the regular T2 version, not the stainless steel one, I'll be careful to dry it well so it doesn't rust. I saw all your videos talking about the T2, and that's what motivated me to buy it.
Since I started wet shaving, a couple of years ago, I was sure I would need an adjustable and butterfly razor, due to the practicality of twisting it to open, and because it is adjustable (I only like adjustable razors, because we have 6 shavers in just one). Sorry for the Google Translate English, I'm not fluent yet! Greetings and thanks for the video!
That’s awesome. Good read and thanks for sharing and all your support.
I bought a Gillette 64 slim adjustable and absolutely love it. I really love adjustables to static razors, I can dial it into my needs. But I just got the PAA Ascension DOC that I’m going to try for my first time today. Your videos are so great and honest.
Thanks for sharing!
I have a 1965 Gillette Slim also….still gives a good shave after all these years (60). I also have a Rockwell T2 SS and a basic T2. I have to tell you that~ the nostalgia feel with the Slim can’t compare with the modern feel of the T2. You might expect a better shave from the T2….considering that it costs about 70 times what the Slim sold for new back in its day ($3.00). I love my T2 razors….so easy to change blades (TTO) and changing blade gaps on the fly….plus the neutral blade reveal insures a comfortable irritation free shave…..unlike the more aggressive Rex Ambassador or Merkur Futur.
Sounded sharp this time, kuddos
💈👍
I've been watching your videos over and over on the Henson AL-13 and Rockwell 6C. I went ahead and ordered the Rockwell 6C yesterday. to add to my shave den. The Henson seemed like it will be too lightweight for me. I love your videos my man! Blessings!
Great to hear! Thanks for all your support
I think I've just found what I want for christmas, especially since they offer it in a stainless steel option.
Stainless steel is the one to get if you can afford it
I subscribed... I'm glad you set the razor on '6'. Now I won't have to. You fell on your sword. Thank you.
Thanks for the sub! Keeping it real
Might buy a few of these as gifts for friends and family. Gotta try that soap also.
Great. Thanks for your support
Kinda surprised Rockwell didn't have the soap on the Amazon page. Looking, and finally locating the soap puck on the Rockwell page has me tempted at 25 for the puck and bowl, just for the bowl alone as my personal preference is the stick/croap/pucks/glycerin based soaps and not the soft creams. I love barbershop scents because of the time I spent in them as a kid/teen due to various family members so I love comparing them to see how close it was to those I was surrounded by during that time. Also looks like Rockwell have a decent sale going on for those who would like to pick up a set.
The one thing that always gets me since making the switch is those times you don't know you got yourself until you see the dreaded red spot. It sure didn't hurt on the pass but it sure stings like a beep on the alum pass.
Good video.
Yeah they're having some pretty good deals right now on Rockwell site. Thanks for using my code. Yeah I agree. This soaps and creams are fantastic and the barbershop sent is the best I have ever smelled. Pair that shaving cream or soap with rockwell's aftershave balm and WOW, what a huge difference it makes. My two best shaving products. Gave away the aftershave balm and need to re-up myself. Thanks for sharing
I bought the T2 and test drove it for a few weeks (daily shaves). I returned it in exchange for the 6S. I already own the 6C. The T2 just had a little too much blade feel for me regardless of the setting or blade choice (nacet, astra sp, personna platinum). The 6S is, without a doubt, my favorite razor.
I can see that to me the T2 is more aggressive than the T2 stainless steel. Same thing goes for the sixes I believe the 6C is more aggressive than the success. Can't go wrong with Rockwell razors. They are some of the smooth shaving razors on the planet, hands-down
Awesome looking razor👌unfortunately out of my price range.
Cheers🍻🥃
I can understand that. Thanks for watching brother
T2 is my favourite razor. A couple of tips for how I get rid of ingrown hairs, soft bristled toothbrush with a little bit of shaving soap and give it a scrub. Another trick if its stubborn is to crush an aspirin and make a paste out it and leaving a small amount on overnight usually the hair pops right out.
Thanks for the tip
This is my go to with feather blades. Have had great experiences since getting it a couple months ago compared to all the others i have used
Total winner in my book. The stainless steel is smoother on my face, but the T2 is just a great price point. What setting do you use the most or do you dial down as you do a beard reduction?
@@OhioShaves3 is my go to setting for 99% and I will move it up to 5 when needed to get difficult areas like under nose. 3 with no pressure just glides right over to do daily or 2 day growth. If I have more I will adjust.
Nice
nice video👍
Thank you 👍
So smooth 😎
💈👍
I’m really looking forward to buying the T2 SS.
GO BLUE! 〽️
💈👍. National champs.
Another great shave review/video. Would you say the T2 adjustments coincide with the 6S/6C plates?
It's more aggressive on the highest setting and the stainless steel models are smoother on your face
Rock on Brother!
Thanks brother 💈👍
thanks
You're welcome!
Nice I was thinking of getting a Rockwell but I've been having perfect shaves with Henson that, I kinda don't really wanna buy anymore razors until. I get some bills payed off lol 😆
💈👍
Absolutely love my T2 (I have the white chrome). You can really dial in the perfect shave. Question. What is the best way to clean out hard water scale from the razor?
Nice. I use dawn dish soap and a toothbrush. Works great and doesn’t hurt the finish of your razors
I have the T2 SS but find it more aggressive than the 6S. Usually after each shave after I put on the alum block, i let it sit while I remove the blade from the razor, (tend to dab it with a marker so i know how many times i used it), clean the bowl and the brush. It usually takes me about a minute or two to complete, then rinse off and put on whatever aftershave I feel like. I figured I have to clean up anyway and let the alum do its thing.
That's a great tip.
Man your videos really put the hook in me. I just joined the channel. I got the T2 recently and absolutely love it. Preferred setting is 4.5 - 5 first pass…So clean and effortless. Using Parker blades which are equally amazing. I’m thinking of the Ti22 as a second razor. What do you recommend…mild or medium?
Thanks brother. Great razors. I like my Ti22 mild. I have a lot of videos using it. Check them out. I just shaved with the medium and got a perfect shave.
@@OhioShaves …medium it is. The T2 is already the on-the-fly, mild to aggressive, so Henson Ti22 here I come. Thank you so much amigo.
💈👍
I have the T2 and also use Persona blades. I notice I cut myself if I accidently slide the razor sideways while shaving. Just a thought. Great videos all the time
Good tip! I believe it was that and I was chopping wood with the razor when I was cutting in my goatee. I'm thinking about doing a three minute video, explaining how technique to correct that. Demonstrating my lack of concentration.
Awesome video👍👍The Velocity One is on its way to you. I just shipped it FedEx.
Awesome. Thanks Ken
I tried an experiment today. I shaved with my Karve Overlander with a second use Gillette Platinum on 6 days growth. The razor/blade combination went through my beard like it was nothing. If I had been using a cartridge razor, it might have taken me all day. I have never tested a DE razor on that much growth before but needless to say I was surprised on the upside. No nicks, cuts, or weepers.
Great news. I love stretching out to see how far a razor can perform.
Dave, I've switched to cold water shaving exclusively. It makes the hair stand out better than any other way IMHO. It is also invigorating. I do this on my head too. My T-2 is starting to grow on me. I've found level 3 to be my sweet spot. Anything higher and I cut myself.
When you say cold water shaving, are you just rinsing off the razor in Coldwater? Or are you actually doing like a field shave?
@@OhioShaves I bowl shave usually. I do it in cold water. Then I rinse my razor in cold water. Then I use cold water as rinses in between passes and finish with cold water . I get little to no redness and a BBS shave.
I own the 6c was thinking of getting a 6s but ended up with the t2ss instead
Win
Any tips on getting the corrct shaving angle?
Yes. Listen to the tone of the razor. Very helpful for me. It's how I know when to flip or rinse the razor as well.
I own several of these t2, major issues on all of them is alignment always more on one side vs other on all 3 of mine
I've never had a problem. But they are made in China. The stainless steel is made in the United States
Any idea who makes their shaving cream/soap?? Also, is the feel of the T2 similar to the 6S or different?
It is a product of Canada. The stainless steel T2 is comparable to the 6S, but not the other way around. The stainless steel models are made in USA. There is truly a difference in precision compared to China made models. At least that's my take on it because the stainless steel model's shave better than the zinc alloy models.
What do you like better, the Rockwell or the Italian aluminum razor you reviewed a few weeks ago? Thanks
Rockwell
I have the T2 as my first DE. I can only go as high as 3 on my face and about 2.5 on my neck. Though, I wonder if I am making the lather right or not sometimes I think its too dry?. Do you have a video on it?
ua-cam.com/video/q2Vi8v6k9Wg/v-deo.html
Ever going to test the Rex Konsul? Ive been eyeing it.
I don’t have it on my radar but there’s plenty of reviews out there
@OhioShaves sadly not from anyone I like or enjoy as a reviewer. First world problems I suppose.
Rockwell makes a shaving soap too. Also with the same fantastic Barbershop scent.
They do and it is it's fantastic as well. I gave it away with a Rockwell 6S last year, along with the aftershave that is one of my favorites. I need to order some more.
@@OhioShaves nice
Hands down razors are the vintage Slim Adjustable razor the Rockwell butterfly Adjustable razor, super 109 and the rocket flare tip super speed razor soap is either Taylor Old Bond street or proraso.
Sounds like you got it figured out. Nice
Bowl lathering preserves the container of soap. Allow the perfect water content and allows the exfoliation of your face where you want it and not how muck the lathering requires. You never said what you dislike about Tatar’s soap?
I still hope you can try a single edge razor, like the open comb RazoRock Hawk V3. I think it's more efficient and comfortable (once you get use to it) due to the thicker Artist Club blades.
I usually cycle through razors throughout a shave (since they're only efficient up to a point) and continue towards the most aggressive DE razor to pick up any stubborn beard growth.
One might think this would be uncomfortable, but you're just letting the razor focus on it's strengths, instead of exceeding them. Aggressive double edge razors (with thinner, sometimes weakly supported blades) used early in a shave seem to uncomfortably pull beard growth, while thicker Artist Club blades seem to plow through beard growth at that stage.
Maybe someday, but if you’re standard double edge, razor blade is moving that’s called blade chatter. Buying a more well-developed razor eliminates blade cheddar depending on the way the razor is designed.
@@OhioShaves From what I heard in your video, it certainly didn't *sound* comfortable early in your shave. If you've ever used a Blackland Dart, which has a very well supported blade (even better than the Blackbird) various people seem to have found it painfully aggressive as it pulled beard growth. Perhaps this might be why it's no longer offered, though I don't know for certain. At later parts of a shave it's a lot more comfortable, allowing it's aggressive nature to remove any remaining beard stubble. After almost a decade of wet shaving I have yet to find a single razor (including various adjustables and numerous other types) that can do a complete shave without some issue. I'd recommend a single edge Artist Club bladed razor for those with coarse beard growth, plus suggest an aggressive DE razor to finish up a shave.
I have used pre-shave oil and I have used CREMO. I find Cremo to be superior in terms of application and slickness. The secret to using Cremo is to apply it on your face, add water to your hands, and massage the Cremo into your beard. I add enough water so the Cremo almost starts running off my face. I then paint the lather on my face and shave. I don't even have to agitate the lather into my face.
Good to know!
My stainless T2 broke after a year. It was a great Razor while it lasted though. Called and Rockwell said it couldn’t be fixed throw it away. For $150 gotta say it was hard to throw it in the trash. Nice while they last though.
It has a lifetime warranty. I hope they replaced it for you.
was plan to get this type for my first razor as a beginner ... but not sure how good it is, feel not that strong :P so end up i pick Rockwell 6c and it is cheaper LOL
Good choice! The Rockwell 6C made me a better shaver.
May be didn't shave with blade for too long , after first 2 weeks, still very bloody lol and not too close compare with electric shave .... It is becoz I use the Rockwell blade which come with it ??? Should I try other brand ... Or becoz I use no 4 case right away lol🙈
I’m considering getting a Henson or should I just stick with the leaf twig? I’m half and half if I should because I just got the leaf but I want to try the Henson to but maybe I should just stick with the one for a while.
Master the twig first.
@@OhioShaves Ok thanks for the advice! Also I always use your code every time I buy something from leaf so hopefully it helps you!

I nicked myself with a King C Gilette safety razor on my face. I think it was the 8th time that I used the blade. And I think I got dull. And I learned to changed my blade once in a while. And I have learned from my mistake.
Yeah, I agree that's a lot of work on one razor blade. I generally shave with a brand new blade every time especially if I'm demonstrating products and not technique.
@@OhioShaves Yeah that makes sense.
I have ran the gauntlet, starting with the Edwin’s and Muhle and Merkurs, graduating to RazoRock and Rockwell, Blackland, timeless, ATT, Yates bla bla bla… Butbinalways came back to my Rockwell 6S and then bought the T2 in Gun Metal and stainless - Rockwell just crushed the geometry and after even buying a Wolfman, I have sold everything and only use Rockwell and the Phoenix Artisan Meta-4 with my beloved TREET blades. For me, any Rockwell soundly beats any other razor regardless of price!
Well said. Thanks for letting viewers known.
Do you prefer the SS model?
Yes.
No blade feel with the 6C , it takes some getting use to👍
Neutral blade feel👍
Have you ever tested a Rex Konsul?
I’m not a fan of slant razors. They cause a ton of irritation for me.
@@OhioShaves I've read that about other slants: lots of blade feel and razor burn. But I've read a few reviews where they reviewer said that the Konsul was worlds different than all the other slant razors. If I lived closer to you I'd let you try mine to see what you think. But Nebraska is a few miles away from Ohio. Thanks for your channel however. I love comparison videos. It's helpful when shopping for Christmas.
Glad you enjoy yours. Thanks for watching.
May i ask sir , what safety razor would you recommend me to buy for my first one... i have sensitive face skin and when i use Gillette common razors i get irritations on my face... i read that safety razor may be better for me, so want to give it a try... maybe any not expensive recommendations for me?? I guess i need some razor that is not super aggressive maybe but im not confident enough. Thanks in advance! Yeah also maybe any recommendations on blades to buy for it? Also considering sensitive skin
I highly recommend Rockwell razors. Here is a link to save you some money: 🔗getrockwell.com/ohio_shaves
@@OhioShaves thank you for the recommendation dear sir! May i ask which model specifically you recommend? There are several models to buy on the website....
@@inv3st_eth839 the stainless steel razors shave smoother in any model
@@OhioShaves thanks. So which model to buy? There are several models on website
@@inv3st_eth839 6S or T2SS. The choice is yours. If money is a factor, I would go with the 6S. You have three different plates with six different settings.
I prefer a slant razor with a feather blade
That’s great
How different is this razor compared to the fat boy? If similar then I’ll,stick with the 60s fat boy thanks
Night and day difference
Meaning which one is better for you?the t2? Thanks
1" thick of shave cream on ones face is wasting soap. All you need is enough soap to get max slide.
💯
That T2 model is goofy. Seriously-the head of the razor is extra wide, but the blade is not. It’s like those goofy wide-body cars. They have all this extra plastic fitted to give the appearance that they have bigger tires, but in reality, there is nothing under those wide-body fenders other than stock size tires. Same goes for the T2 model-extra wide head, but no blade to fill that extra space. Also, you have to turn it up to 6 just to get a decent shave out of it. It’s like an adjustable on training wheels. I need to sell mine. Thanks anyway.
Why would you buy it in the first place?
@@OhioShaves good question. But honestly I like trying different razors. Unfortunately this is one that didn’t work for me. Didn’t realize it until I tried it.
@@OhioShaves Rockwell’s best razor is the 6S.
Unfortunately the T2 is made in China with is a big no for me. The 6S is the only one made in US.
You’ve been lied too. Ti22 isn’t china my friend
From Rockwell’s homepage; Rockwell 2C and 6C in our dedicated facility in China. While the Rockwell 6S is made in the USA. The T2, including the T2 SS, is designed in Canada; manufactured, assembled and first QC done in China; and final QC done in Canada.
The best adjustable is a Fatboy or Slim lol
You'd be surprised how many people don't like Gillette
@@OhioShaves Oh, I know, but it’s crap that they base their vintage stuff on that. The modern stuff? I understand.
I use to think that.
@@RichardE62 I’m sure the modern adjustables are just as good, I just said that lol
The old vintage Gillette razors were made for more of a one pass shave. They have a ton of blade feel and are very aggressive for people with sensitive skin. The rockwell T2 and even more so T2 stainless steel are so smooth even on its highest setting. All Rockwell razors, have a unique feel compared to any other safety razor out there. The stainless steel models are made in United States, and it shows and how much better they are compared to their China counterparts. Precision matters, and it shows in Rockwell stainless steel razors
Yaqi ultima is better.
Why do you say that?
Yep, iam nursing my Rockwell shaving soap barbershop most likely for two more shaves left, great shave today nice razor as well 🪒💈
Right on. Love the shaving cream and soaps
