I own a 2000 Heritage Softail AND a 2018 Ulra Limited. I LOVE my softail 100x MORE than any bike I've ever had! I can strip the windshield and quick release bags in 2 mins. We own the ginormous Ultra Limited because of my wife and that fact she likes the comfort and the tunes. Me? I'd rather ride my Heritage for 10 hours and be quiet and think in my own head....it's what motorcycling has always been for me.

I agree, I will never understand why some people want music blasting when they are riding. I just want to enjoy the sights and sounds of the road, and realize how lucky I am to still be riding after almost 40 years in the saddle... Ride On!!

I have a 2000 Heritage Classic and love it. There are different kinds of plastic or metal bag inserts that will keep the bags from sagging. Probably the best things I did were putting a Corbin seat on it and installing the “fangs” lowers in front to keep the wind from coming up from under the windshield.

People like the Heritage because its a cross between a Fatboy and a cruiser. So you get the bags for storage, and a windshield but it still looks close to a Fatboy. I prefer a big back tire cruiser stripped down, no windshield, no bags, no chin spoiler, no flairs, no angle guards, just 2 big tires and a big motor, and a set of loud pipes.

I am 38 and am leaning towards one of these. I really wanted an Indian, but the Super Chief has fenders that are too short to be practical and only 3" of rear suspension travel (this has 5".). The Indian Springfield is the next closest equivalent, but is a few grand more pricey and only comes with hard bags and my preference is for soft. Now i have to wait for a year where they make it in white again, not all these burgundies and reds. lol. But yeah; this bike looks like a solid choice for eating up the miles in comfort on highway or on back roads.

Hey guys question, I’m trying to get my first Harley. Issue is I just got back from a deployment. And like an idiot I financed a ninja 636 it was a left over 2018. I owe 8000. But obviously dealers won’t give me that for it. Where can I sell it to just break even. Because I want a Harley but I don’t want negative equity. I tried bookoo and Craigslist already no luck

Its not so much that they 'hate' Harley, its that they love them, they don't really see the reasoning behind going into a dealership and purchasing a brand new motorcycle, when essentially the same models of Harley's have been on the used market, usually quite well taken care of (ie: Garage Queens), for less than half the prices that you could get a new one from a dealer. Only benefit to a dealer and new bike? Warranty. Benefit to purchasing used? Price point, insurance break (in a lot of cases new bikes get nailed with a 'new vehicle' tax/fee of sorts, at least where I'm from) and also? If something breaks, parts are usually readily available for Harley's throughout the years and there's such a resource on youtube for 'general repair' for Harley's that a lot of people fix basic things themselves anymore. That's all. :)
If the insurance wasn't so bonkers (where I live, once again >_< ) I'd go for a fatboy or a heritage soft tail of some sort myself! Used, of course.
