First time I rode a Heritage was the 2016 model in Hawaii a few years ago. It was the 103 twin cam motor and I loved it. The newer versions are even better but it’s still the light great handling bike I rode in 2016. Best motorcycle I’ve ever owned. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe!

I to have ordered a new seat with a backrest because being 65 and after having had one on my old Ultra Limited it is a must for my Heritage.

I’m 65 and just bought a 2019 Heritage Classic 114 for a lot of the same reasons. I had my heart set on an Electra Glide Classic. The sales guy at Texas Harley Davidson suggested the Heritage and it really was a great idea. Next thing I knew I was ringing the bell. You made a nice video and it makes me miss north Georgia. A lot.

We are in the same boat. I think you’ll love the Heritage. I thought I wanted a big touring bike too but glad I bought the lighter Heritage. I remember that every time I’m moving it around my garage thinking it’s so much easier than a bigger touring bike. It’s still comfortable for touring and checks all my boxes. Thanks for watching and commenting. Come on back sometime to North GA and we can ride these great roads together! Ride safe and enjoy the Heritage.

It is a shame the metric cruiser industry dropped their heavy cruisers . Such as the Raider S , Stratoliner , Roadliner , and the Honda 1300 , and 1800 VTX , all were great heavy cruisers . For me H-D is where you want to be , the massive amount of dealers , and the connection with the riders from the world over that you will meet is amazing . Good to see you still posting. I missed the last one apparently and was starting to wonder. I just got back from the Ga DMV today, renewing my motorcycle permit again. Lost count how many times I have done that in the last 20 years. Buts that's part of living in the forgotten counties of North Georgia, that don't do Motorcycle driving tests. Now to the want ads to find this summer's motorcycle.

@@GARamblinMan I would go that way too, but I believe the closest MSF course is the Honda riding academy in Alpharetta, at least 2 and a half hours southeast of me. So hotels, time off, house sitters.
Ironically, a class is taught at Chattanooga State College, where I commuted to when I was in college. But they don't accept it because it's given in Tennessee. By about 5 miles.

he rides it for transportation, unlike most people that use it as a toy,
he has had numerus problems with it, been in the shop 27 times in the first 20,000 miles.
now he is at 40,000 and the oil pump quit.
On the bright side, I have a 2005 suzuki c50 t with 40,000 trouble free miles, so I let him borrow mine while his is down.
I have never had a problem with my bike, regular maint. oil changes, brakes, tires, and it still looks new.
I have replaced my lights to led, and new locking viking bags, as well as chrome accys...
I hope you have good luck, and safe travels on your new bike!

The Heritage feels light and handles like a sportster. Leans over through the twisties and very comfortable. It would appear thjat we are very like minded GA. I am in my sixties, always rode metrics but promised myself a Harley at some stage of my riding life. The tourers are too heavy and as stated, very expensive. I have a fully kitted out ADV bike for any big touring I do, but the Heritage appeals to me because it is simplistic, affordable and in my opinion, it has the iconic look of the Harley motorcycle. This will no doubt be my next new bike. I really like the chromed 107 m8 model in the crimson and white two tone. Riders back rest will also be a must to have! You think exactly like I do. I have a 2007 Boulevard C50, bought it new in 2007. I have also been wanting a new bike, and you bought the exact bike I been looking at, for all the same reasons. I think it’s closest to the Boulevard, only bigger motor, and a little more weight. I do like the Indian Super Chief limited, but I don’t like their saddle bags. Watching your video, has convinced me, my next bike will be the Heritage, because you basically covered all the same reasons I would buy one.

    • @GARamblinMan

The Heritage is a lot like the Boulevard with all the shortcomings of the Boulevard addressed. More powerful motor, cruise control, ABS brakes, better gauges, lockable saddle bags and a fuel gage. It’s just a little bit heavier but handles wonderfully in my opinion. I am very happy with it. I loved my C50T for a long time and hated to get rid of it but this was definitely an upgrade. Good luck in your search for the new bike. You won’t regret getting a Heritage. I love my '20 Heritage Classic 114 for all the same reasons you expressed. Like you, I'm in my 60s and, even though I have a touring bike ('14 Ultra Limited), I find I'd much rather throw a leg over the Heritage for local rides than wrestle with the Limited, especially when riding around my local area. My biggest complaint is condensation in the speedometer that covers the digital display. H-D will not warranty it and, even if they did, the replacements do the same thing. Anyway, I really enjoyed your video. You're lucky to have such great roads, especially compared to the roads I ride in SE Texas. Take care out there!

The first new Harley I ever bought was a '91 Heritage Softail Classic, in stunning "Candy Sapphire Sunglo", and that paint name suited it perfectly. That bike took me all over Australia, following the work, from the top of Queensland to the bottom of South Australia, and points in between. Now I've got a '06 Softail Standard (well, not quite so "standard" anymore), I really love this bike, with the EFI and minimal engine warm-up time. But, every time I do a long distance trip, I miss that Heritage. I even miss the "start-up ritual", ignition on, pull the choke all the way out, two pumps of the throttle, hit the starter button, then ease the choke in to about half, give it another minute or so, then ease off the choke, all the way in, bring the throttle up a little and lock it in with the little "wheel" under the throttle, and when the heads are warm to the touch, undo that little wheel, let her idle whilst putting on the jacket and helmet, and away I go, being careful not to wind her up too much for the first ten km's or so, then let 'er rip! Yeah, I miss that bike.

Photos just didn't do it justice, she literally sparkled in the sun, but not over the top, still subtle, but it got a lot of looks, in all the 15 years I owned her, I reckon I may have seen one other Harley in that colour. I was really happy with it, because way back then, every Harley that hit our shores was already pre-sold. There was only one Harley on the showroom floor, the dealer principals own ride, a Dyna, so I had to choose my bike from a catalogue! @@GARamblinMan I was doing that but it was hurting my eardrums so I went with the speakers which frees up my helmet for the phone!

A lot of parallels. I am in my late 60s. I rode a '59 pan head in high school and had some other bikes, but hadn't really ridden for about 40 years and wanted to start riding again. They call us "returning riders."
So last year I rented a Road King but it was too heavy for me, so I bought a Suzuki Boulevard 50. It is a great bike. Fun and easy to ride and runs cool and looks good. Then a couple of months ago I was used to riding again and I was ready to try a Harley.
This time the Road King was no problem to ride, but I ride mostly around town, and I really like the look of the Heritage. So I got a black 2021 Heritage Softail 114.
I had chrome handlebars put on it, front and rear crash bars, and a heel shifter. I also got a heel guard from Carl Miles because I was tired of my boots melting on the exhaust pipe, and it works great. And I love the bike. l

The Heritage is a great choice for anyone but especially returning riders like you. Easy to handle and relatively light weight compared to the big touring bikes. Thanks for watching.

I ride a Honda Shadow Aero. I recently recognized that after adding the Mustang seat, floorboards, windshield, highway bars, passing lights, saddle bags, exhaust system, etc., I'd made it into a pseudo-Heritage. Might as well have just bought a Heritage with a better drivetrain and brakes. Anyway, I get it why you chose the Heritage, and I hope you'll enjoy it a lot.

My Suzuki C50T Boulevard was a pretty much a clone of the Heritage and the price was way less, but I like the bigger motor, ABS, cruise control and updated electronics including a fuel gage on my new Heritage. Love it so far. Thanks for watching.

You have a beautiful bike. I added a few things to my bike,or they are ready to install. I bought the automatic clutch for my bike. That clutch cost me about $800+. Yes I bought the 131 kit too, and other items to literally support that big bore. I have legends front and rear, condenser, clutch bowl, and more,, etc.... I also added more cosmetic items in black, and my 1/75 Ranger Battalion scroll with Regiment Crest derby with Regiment timer cover. I might change timer to 1/75 Flash with jumpwings in the middle. I will keep it a sleeper for a little bit. I love my 2019 Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic FLHCS 114, until it turns into the 131. Enjoy your beautiful bike that can transform into many styles.

You’re doing some great upgrades. This is the fun part of owning a Harley-Davidson. I’m putting Vance & Hines Eliminator 300 slip on exhaust on mine tomorrow.

@@GARamblinMan You're right, it makes it my original. This is my first Harley. Some of my upgrades actually was helprd by a youngster who hit my bike after having it two months in my parkingspace, a little bit of credit, my insurance, and my 80% Service Connected Disability check. The youngster left his name and number, and when I walked to my bike he came over. I let him off. I had the Screamin Eagle Slip-On exhaust, now I will get rid of black end caps for it. I bought those California legal pipes. I think I need a backrest for myself, you might need one for your beast. Enjoy that beast of a bike.
