Crazy. Those two screws are probably legit the only thing I haven’t tried adjusting, lubricating or modifying. Something has felt off with my pedal for a while and I still wasn’t satisfied with how they felt after putting in close to 10 hours of work on them. Much appreciated for this, I hope this is the missing piece to the puzzle!!!
WOW! I'm in the same boat and made so many adjustments to figure out why my second pedal was laggy. Like it wasn't bouncy and responsive compared to the other demon drive pedal. It would lock up after a few bounces. Now I can relax and de stress. Thank you so much bro! May the drumming Gods bless you!
Holy crap this was my problem EXACTLY. Tried oiling and messing with the spring tension, did not help. Both beaters insanely stiff. For a second I thought I had to break it in or something. THANK YOU!
Just got the Double pedal Demon Drive and had the exact same issue with the slave pedal assembly. Tried all the settings and gigged 2x struggling with it until I came across your video. Thank you so much for the video and the fix!! I adjusted the linkage in just a little and boom it’s perfect now! I let my rep at Sweetwater know about the fix too. Thanks again!!! Also I actually gave a little heat to the set screws with my soldering iron prior to loosening the screws. Made it easier!
Awesome man! Happy you got it straightened out! I appreciate you spreading the word. Maybe Pearl drums will finally see the video and fix it! Haha Rock on!
Thanks! I had same problem. They were sent back to pearl and they sent me new pedals . I have two singles. One was perfect , the other had this problem. After watching your video, I did the adjustments, and now working perfectly!!!! Thank you
Wow! I'm having the same problem with my NEW Pearl DEMON XR The right Pedal is hard as hell to push. I can't seem to get a double out. it feels like something is wrong with it. I'll try your method.
Yup mine too what i did is loosen the two screws and while loose tap the pedal the shaft will move straigt to where is supposed to be by it self the tighten and go play fast
I think mine is just worn out. It makes a lot of clicking noises when I play it. If I let it go like you do in the video it's absolutely silent. But when i play with my foot it makes awful clicking noises like there's play in the board bearings or something too. I can't find any maintenance kits with new bearings or anything.
There is another bearing at the bottom of the drive. Unscrew the allen bolt and remove the metal washer. Then you can line it up so it wouldn't be crooked. Tighten everything back up and it'll move like the left one.🙌🏾💪🏾
I got new ones about a year ago & they were sloppier [out of the box] than ones I replaced. And to this day I haven't been able to figure out where the problem is
I haven't checked your resolution yet, but there's an issue with my pedal after converting to the long board setting. Left one is great (using a double pedal). Right one stops dead after 1 or 2 bounces. To me it sounds like there's friction in the base of the pedal and kept thinking something's wrong with the alignment of the screws I had to move to convert it. Does anyone have any idea or ran into this as well?
It's insane to notice that in a 25k comments, I haven't seen any reply on mention from Pearl. Pitty! I was about to buy these, I'm just too concerned at this point.
Hey guys! I love the camaraderie we’ve built in the comments! Us drummers gotta have eachother backs! Going to selfishly use this time to promote my new record! Check out the page for updates! Just posted the first single, full album coming in a few more weeks! Rock on! 🤘
All comes down to what feels best for you to be honest, unless you screw something up those high quality pedals should stay high quality and feel great for years and years The main thing I've heard is the dyna-sync are very heavy for direct drive pedals. Demon drive is in the middle of the road and then tricks and axis feel even lighter. I also heard the demon drive beaters aren't very good(they do wear out fast i think)but that can be solved by swapping them out so it isn't a huge deal

Was feeling pretty defeated with my demon drive. This improved it drastically. Thanks for posting this. You’re a hero.
Anytime man! Rock on!

Awesome man! Glad you got it worked out. Rock on 🤘 don’t forget to check my new album that just released as well!
Thank you. I couldn’t get mine loose. I needed to use pliers to turn the key and there was a loud crack due to how tight they were
Glad you got it fixed man! Rock on!
aren't the screws glued?
These are well out of my price range, but I'm sure this can be applied to other pedals.
Thanks.
Absolutely! Rock on! 🤘

Glad I can help, Rock on!
Thank you! Pearl company needs to see your video, and include your directions in the owner's manual.
Glad it was helpful!

Absolutely brother. Now time to let em rip! Rock on!
I tried mine wouldn't align easily think the company could do a better job designing the pedal.
Maybe one day they will see this video and respond to me!
Thanks from Brasil!

Lifesaver. Mines been locked up since I bought.
Always happy to help! Rock on!

Unfortunately sometimes the quality just isn’t there these days. Thats across the board too man. We do what we can, rock on!
I have the same problem. Now that you've shown what the issue is, now i cant find the allen wrench that came with it🤦🏾♂️...
Hardware store should sell a small pack! Rock on! 🤘
i have this issu thanks so much ♥
Anytime! Rock on! 🤘 don’t forget to check out my new album that just released!
So? How does that effect the playing.
Makes it much better! Much more smooth!

Check out what I speak to in the video.c but also double check all your tension settings, make sure nothing came loose when converting!
Holy shit... this might change my life
Hell yeah! Rock on! 🤘
I get mine for second then even just changing the spring tension causes my main pedal to go completely out of alignment.
Keep adjusting!
I wastn able to remove the screws :(
Maybe try some WD-40 and let it soak a bit then try again?! Let us know!
It's insane to notice that in a 25k comments, I haven't seen any reply on mention from Pearl. Pitty! I was about to buy these, I'm just too concerned at this point.
Right?!? You’d think by now they’d at least say something! Rock on man! 🤘

These pedals are cheap garbage.
The Tama Dyna syncs are waaaay better
I hear great things about those pedals! Rock on man! 🤘
@jerrettscott_official4955 Yeah I had them and sold them within 3 weeks.
Tama stuff is just better.
