I live just outside Canterbury (2 miles) but prefer to go to Ashford (6 miles) for everyday shopping due to the traffic congestion and high parking charges. The Park & Rides are a reasonable option.
Wow, what a video! Such great history narration too. I appreciate this video so much. This video will help me plan our trip when we go in 2026. Thank you do much 😊
Any forest or woods near canterbury kent ? to go for a walk in. Explore ? Also the people that find locatins that are boring to them I like living in "boring" places
Hi @Dynastone. Thank you for confirming this. The 15 bus is scheduled to take between 35-44 mins between Canterbury and Dover, depending on the time of day. The National Express 007 takes 50-60 mins, as the route goes via Folkestone.
@@CuriousTrip yeah, sometimes the traffic can get bad on the Dover Road in Canterbury during rush hour, sometimes it’s easier to get off at the Pizza Hut and walk into town.
There’s so much history in such a small area. The Cathedral alone is amazing to visit but there lots more. Have a great time and let us know after what you think of Canterbury.
Canterbury has a light parade and illuminations each year as well as a popular Christmas market with many wooden huts selling festive products, both of which run this year from the 15th November. The Marlowe theatre has an annual pantomime, which is a fun show that people come from far to experience. There’s several other events that you find details on the Canterbury tourism website. Plus, don’t forget the stunning Canterbury Cathedral which has its own Christmas events calendar.
How was your visit to Canterbury? We'd love to hear how it went.
