Ah I’m so happy you read about Moomins! I’m from Finland, where the Moomins are also from, and I love seeing people from around the world enjoying our little creatures by Tove Jansson ❤
Persuasion is my favorite Jane Austen novel because it was her last completed one, and you can really see her growth as a writer in it. And fun fact, the argument she makes throughout the book about not allowing others to persuade you is the opposite of advice she previously gave to her beloved niece.
My favorite of May was Night of the Dragon by Julie Kagawa, the third book in the Shadow of the Fox trilogy (HIGHLY recommend for anime fans or anyone interested in Japanese mythology). My "least favorite" was probably To Kill a Shadow by Katherine Quinn, because every relationship was told, not shown, so there was no emotional impact.
Two videos in a week yay ❤❤
❤❤ love this.....I started a few books but didnt finish any this month feel kinda disappointed with myself 😞 but there's always June
I had the same thoughts for Part of Your World! so im so excited you liked Just for the Summer!😀
The dagger earrings again… yes queen 🗡️👏
Always look forward to watching your vids!!
Ran to the notes to see if anyone else knew Katies serious when the dagger earrings are on! Love them! x
Persuasion is one of my favourite Jane Austen books, sometimes it even sneaks ahead of Pride and Prejudice… a real ‘dark horse’ favourite Austen though is Northanger Abbey - which is Austen poking gentle fun at the gothic novels which were all the rage at the time. Her sense of humour is quite obvious in that book. I’d always enjoyed it then I listened to the audio book, read by the fabulous Emma Thompson, and it shot up the list of favourites.
I also really enjoyed the fourth Lady Trent book, I read the entire series earlier this year. The fourth might possibly be my favourite in the series.
Current reading - inspired by the release of the third season of Bridgerton, I’ve been reading some of the other books set in that world by Julia Quinn - currently enjoying the Smythe-Smith Quartet stories (4 books) and the Bevelstoke series (3 books) - quite ‘fluffy’ but good fun. And yes, I read all the Bridgerton books and the prequel series a few years ago. I’m not a big romance reader (Jane Austen and her ilk aside), but have enjoyed the ‘turn my brain off’ quality of Julia Quinn’s books.
please make a spoiler FULL discussion on a fate inked in blood cause honestly same
For the month of May I got back into reading Emily Henry and read Funny Story and Happy Place I enjoyed them so much. I am planning to read People We Meet On Vacation in June. I finally read The Poppy War and that had some great adventure vibes. My favorite read this month was The House In The Cerulean Sea. My least favorite books would probably have to be The Bridge Kingdom and The Serpent and the Wings of Night even though I liked them because of the vibes and I do plan on continuing the series I just hope there is more action. Happy reading!
love the moomins !!! I'm on the 3rd book now, they're so fun
I really need to continue with the Lady Trent series 😅 glad you liked the 4th one
Great wrap up❤. I'm going to get back into classics and Persuasion is one of my favorite ones.
Fate inked in blood I also read…. I liked it but I also agree with what you said about it, I’m hoping the next book will be better! 💙
as always i got so many recs from you!! i'm so excited to see your reading journal for june! i was in a reading slump last month, it was quite rough. but thankfully i think i'm out of it now. my favorite book i read in may was the ten thousand doors of january by: alix e harrow & my least favorite was where the dark stands still by: ab poranek. i really wanted to like it but it just wasn't it for me, i did like the howls moving castle vibes that was about all i liked 😭
Your hair + the earrings ❤
love your videos and recommendations Katie 💞
So many good books! I was thinking about reading just for the summer first but now idk 😅 great video as always 💌
I'm so curious about The Witchwood knot! Loved her Regency faerie tales series
I also loved Part of your world but didn't like Yours truly so now idk if I want to read Just for the summer, helppp
I have A Fate Inked in Blood for my June tbr. I'm curious to see what I think about it and just feel like it would be fun to read in preparation for Ren Faire season in CO. 🥰
I'm currently at the end of Emma by Jane Austen and yes, it is so much fuuuuun!
🍉🍉🍉🍉🍉🍉🍉🍉🍉🍉🍉
Great wrap up 📚🥤
I really want to read Persuasion this year, so excited that you loved it! 🩷 My favourite book this month was Thornhedge by T Kingfisher and my least favourite was In the Company of Witches by Auralee Wallace
Where do you get your dagger earrings/jewelry? I’m obsessed!
So early for the first time ! Love you and your videos❤!
My favorite this month was beach read and white chrysanthemum (but this one was very uncomfortable)... My least favorite or the worst book of the year was all the light we cannot see, it was terrible
how‘d you like where the dark stands still? 🎀 and in May I read Iron Flame which I loved and The Familiar by Leigh Bardugo which disappointed me
My least favorite read of the month for May was The City of Stardust. I really wanted to love it but I just couldn’t, characters felt flat, some loose ends, the ending was very vague and there was not a lot of things happening throughout the book and for some reason we were back to square one even though I was 80% through the book 😭 it’s probably one of my least favorite books that I have ever read 😅
Third❤
Have you read divine rivals?
She has, it was a 5 star read for her
🤲🏼🤲🏼🤲🏼🤲🏼🤲🏼🤲🏼🤲🏼🇵🇸
❤❤❤

I hate fantasy romance lol so no not everyone loves it actually
thats crazyyyyy…anyways.
There’s one more book by Abby Jimenez in the series… Yours Truly. Goes after Part of Your World and before Just for the Summer. More characters you need to meet before Just for the Summer! ❤
I'm so glad you liked Persuasion! I agree, the romance was so cute and the ending with the letter???? I got it as a sticker and it sits in the case of my kindle, I know the beginning of it by heart
if you're looking for more archaeology type books then i really recommend Us in Ruins by Rachel Moore! It comes out in September and I just read it. It's a YA that follows Margot as she goes on a school archaeology trip to Italy but she has her own agenda-she wants to venture on a quest to uncover and reassemble an ancient and cursed vase. There's a really great slow burn romance (that had me screaming at the book for them to kiss which is always fun) between Margot and a boy who helps her find this vase-he's also the same boy who went missing in 1932 while searching for the vase who was turned into a statue that she discovers on her quest. the description on goodreads says "With a blend of humor, magic, and love, Rachel Moore crafts another stand-alone adventure romcom full of double and triple crosses, hilarious shenanigans, and frustration fueled banter, where the best treasure is true love." her debut novel is also great called, The Library of Shadows-it came out last year and is a great spooky (and a bit kooky) romcom! But I definitely recommend keeping an eye out for Us In Ruins when it comes out in September!!
My favorite book this month was Dragonfruit by Makiia Lucifer.
I’m intrigued by witch hat. I have a 13 year old girl who loves graphic novels and I’ve been searching for something new for her. Do you think it would be an appropriate series for a 13 year old to start?
I literally bought Just For The Summer the day after watching your vlog 🥺 Can't wait to read and love it 🥰
i dont know how far behind the english releases of yona of the dawn are from the japanese ones, but it was announced like this morning that the manga is on its last arc!
Second comment!!! ❤😊

Hi Katie! I'm Calista from KOLSup. I've been following your book reviews and literary insights-they're really insightful! 😊 Have you ever thought about having your own website?
I felt the same about A Fate Inked in Blood. At first I was interested and then it quickly died out. I won't be continuing, I sold my edition haha
Exactly the same view on this book ❤
I'm loving the later volumes of Yona, but also I really enjoy political fantasy lol. I'm very invested in what's happening with Su-Won right now and I need to know what happens to him!
Reading Sword of kaigen. It's so good!!
My favourite read this year!
I’m sending you love❤
Where did you get your earrings from? I love them
can’t wait for you to read Yours Truly!!
i had a really good reading month in may, my top books were The Giver by Lois Lowry (reread), and Red Rising and Golden Son by Pierce Brown. I think the worst book i read in may was bloodmarked by Tracy Deon, it was just overly complicated and things kinda just happened for the sake of happening compared to legendborn
This month I loved Jade City, The Hedge Witch of Foxhall, and Kings of the Wyld! Honorary mention has to be The Poisoner by IV Ophelia 🔥
La Biblia me ayuda mucho , pues abarca todo tipo de problemas
Emma is my fav Jane Austen ;)
