After finishing babel, i genuinely felt my world shifting around me. i could no longer think of some issues without entangling them in my brain with Kuang’s explanations, or think of words without wondering what meaning they might hold in other languages, or think of tragedies without imagining Robin in the tower. There are just certain books that attach to your memory like you lived them and they never leave you, and babel is one. i don’t think I’ve ever ugly cried so much to a book :) if you are thinking of picking it up, please do, you don’t know what you’re missing
Aaa...Wuthering heights and Count of Monte Christo are one of my favorite classics. The Count is really really epic and it needs time, but it's definitely worth of it. Thank you for amazing video.
This video honestly feels like having chat about books with friends - Love all the cosy vibes 🤍🌸 Ps - wuthering heights is one of my favourite classics of all time💕
I have many 5 star reads so far this year, but the ones that have really stood out and have a place in my heart is in reading order, Four seasons in Japan, Divine Rivals, Half a Soul, The Nightingale, The Book of Longings, Curious Tides, The Winter Sea and top of them all, The Other Bennet Sister ❤❤❤ I've read 52 books so far this year! No big dissapointments, but The Book that Broke The World didn't really live up to my expectations from the first book. Still good though!
I have ocd and depression diagnosed autism and get anxious verrry quickly and this channel just makes me so warm and fuzzy inside please continue uploading you have many loyal fans by your side
For me your channel is a safe place, cozy and warm. I think if we meet we would be really good friends. You have such a delighful energy, dont change and please keep going with this videos that are helping people feel safe. Best wishes from Spain.
😭😭😭thank you SO much for the incredibly kind comment! I’m so touched that you find it a safe and cosy place🥺 thank you for watching and enjoying my videos and sending a huge hug to Spain!!🥹🫶🏼✨
I recently finished Hakumei & Mikoshi Vol 1 and I felt completely in love with it. I’m used to reading stories with so many plots and find modern slice of life boring. But this one felt very relaxing to read to rest my brain from reading too many stories.
Oh my god you like nevermoor too?? It is my favorite series of all time and its just so underrated. I only discovered you yesterday but i thought you'd love nevermoor from watching your videos. Im just soo happy right now lol 😂🫶🏽
My favorite read so far is Last Tale of the Flower Bride by Roshani Chokshi, and I was most disappointed in the ending of Inheritance from Christopher Paolini. The books in The Inheritance Cycle are sooo long (that last one was 849 pages), and I just expected something more epic from the ending hahaha. It just felt as if the writer got completely lost in his own story haha. He made the enemy quite invincible and didn’t really know how the ‘hero’ could win 😂, so the solution for the end battle feels a bit pathetic (in my opinion).
What a beautiful and cozy video yet again Ahya ❤️ I laughed so much when you said that you never thought you could relate so much to a garlic haha. I need to read the book asap 😍 I hope you have a wonderful day ❤️
I’m looking forward to the orthinologist’s field guide to love mainly because I love India Holton’s other books. If this romance is anything like her others, it’ll be both hilarious and steamy ❤️
Great vid. Count of Monte Cristo has been on my TBR forever and Wuthering Heights is great and I absolutely agree that it suits the colder month. I read Babel in June and enjoyed it, but probably not as much as you did. 😁
I read the Nevermoor books on audio so I don't own copies of the series. But comics ( bande dessinée) adaptation are coming in french and it capture the atmosphere so beautifully! I bought volume 1 and I can't wait to rediscover the story through this new medium! Keeps me busy while I wait for book 4!
I have had a couple favorite books so far this year: Flip the Script and I’ll Be the One by Lyla Lee, The Cat Who Saved Books by Sosuke Natsukawa, and the Heaven Official’s Blessing series by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu. The books that have disappointed me were A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik and What Feasts at Night by T. Kingfisher
Garlic & The Vampire and Garlic & The Witch are the only graphic novels I've ever read but I loved them so much😍 And I also really wanna read India Holton's new book 😃
I enjoyed Garlic & The Vampire as well! I actually just picked up the sequel yesterday and I’m excited to read it 😊 My favorite manga of this year so far is called Soara and the House of Monsters, it made me laugh and smile and it felt cute and cozy
I read the manga Hakumei and Mikochi too! I felt the same way as you, though it is really cute. I feel like I didn't really get to know who they were inside. I usually buy sequels right after I read the first manga, but didn't for that one. I have heard of Babel a few times but still have not read it. I enjoyed your review of it though. I know someone who has told me that The Count of Monte Cristo is their favorite book. . .I didn't realize it was so gigantic. Wow! What a classic though. I read Wurthering Heights when I got engaged as an older teen and it was one of my least favorite books I ever read, yet it is my best friend's favorite book. Go figure.
Wuthering Heights is my favourite all time classic.. the beautiful writing..the way Bronte describes the moors and the characters.. such a dark moody read..I love it. The Italian is also a superb read it you love classics.. excellent piece of literature that doesn't get as much mentions but it's a wonderful gothic read. ❤❤
I loved hearing your mid year thoughts on the books you’ve read so far, your videos are always so enjoyable and you have such wonderful book recommendations! 😊 I agree with your thoughts on Hakumei & Mikochi it was also disappointing to me, I was hoping that there was a bit more of a story, although parts of it were interesting it wasn’t quite what I was hoping for. My favorite book so far this year is a classic children’s chapter book, Misty of Chincoteague by Marguerite Henry, it is just a precious and well written story. 😀📚
Thank you for this lovely video Ahya. My favorite book so far is Nevermoor vol. 3 (just like you I'm so excited for the release of book 4 now) and the one that didn't convince me was Flow by Mikaël Thévenot, probably because I didn't really get attached to the main characters as I expected to be.
I love your videos so so much, they’re such precious gifts to me, as soon as I get the notification I know I’ll have a gentle and cozy moment to just rest, because I’ve been so busy :( this year my favorites so far have been the renegade trilogy by marissa meyer, the skyward series by brandon sanderson and the guardians of childhood series by william joyce (the one that inspired the “rise of the guardians” movie!) - sadly I’m not reading anything anymore because college has been taking up all of my time and I know if I get into a book I’ll recklessly leave everything else behind to keep reading so I won’t even risk it
I read (listened to) The Easy Life in Kamusari from your recommendation and loved it!! I am excited to enjoy the sequel :D My favorite book of the year so far... this was a hard decision to make... but it has to be Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine! My most disappointing read was unfortunately (unpopular opinion incoming) The Seven Year Slip. It just didn't do much of anything for me.
I’ve been reading Little Pilgrim’s Progress in an illustrated edition and I think you might like because it’s a Christian book! The drawings are so lovely 🤎📚
A little off topic, but I want to thank you for recommending Half a Soul by Olivia Atwater! I loved it and it was the perfect book to reignite my desire to read after graduating from college ❤
The Ornithologist's Field Guide to Love has got to be my most anticipated. I will read everything India Holton writes though, honestly she got me into reading as an adult. They are so funny, and her unique style of comedy I haven't encountered elsewhere. They are definitely not spice free, but where spicy scenes bother me and feel forced in other books, it never bothered me in her books, I think because it is part of the comedy. Anyway, if you don't mind the spice and can vibe with the comedy they are just amazing books. Probably still my favorite ever. If you like Ornithologist's, definitely read her past series. I wouldn't go into Ornithologist's excepting somthing like Emily Wilde’s or A Far Wilder Magic, her past work is nothing like those, but is excellent.
The Count of Monte Cristo is also my must read book of the year, alongside Emma by Jane Austen 😍 Hopefully I can stick to my plan 😩🙏🏻 As for my favorite read this year, I’ve been able to go through the whole Kamisama Kiss manga series and I fell absolutely in love with it, totally recommend it!! ☺️
Hi Ahya. So far, I have only read 2 books as I am a very slow, well, a bit of lazy reader😅... I have read as long as the lemon trees grow by zoulfa katouh, which is a historical romance set in Syria. It was so beautiful, especially the romance between the main characters, was so sweet and heartwarming. My second read was days at the morisaki bookshop, which was as I had expected a cozy and lovely read. I especially enjoyed the vibes of the cafe takako used to visit... I could actually sense the beautiful aroma of coffee brewing ❤. I really plan to read more this year and have started the hobbit. I would love to know your views on it❤. Thanks for another lovely video.
The Ornithologist's Field Guide is on my list too but there's still a month left until it's published here. The GR reviews are pretty good so far, even the negative ones are just complaining that it's too silly, has too much orinthology, has some magical birds, has a swearing gentleman who prefers to ask for consent 😂
I felt the same way about Hakumei & Mikochi. Cute art style but i didn't care for the characters. Two other cozy fantasy manga, which i absolutely adore, are Call the Name of the Night and Flying Witch ♥
Oh wow! Your channel has grown so much! 🤎🤍 so happy to see you thriving and still your channel is my go to comfy place Edit: I think you'd be a great audiobook narrator for cozy fantasy genre :)

Aaa...Wuthering heights and Count of Monte Christo are one of my favorite classics. The Count is really really epic and it needs time, but it's definitely worth of it. Thank you for amazing video.
Yayyyy that makes me so happy!! This just confirms that I have to finish it before the end of this year😫 Thank you so much for enjoying the video🥹🤎
