Canonization begins on the local level. He was truly a saint! orthochristian.com/151232.html
May the rest of the world also recognize him as a Saint of the Church.
That's how we title him! St. Seraphim, my conscience humbly forbids me to describe, introduce, or mention him in any other way! May it be blessed, his SAINTHOOD that is...He is more than "Blessed"!
at the squad, i am trying to get started converting out of print and copyright free books into audio. could you please share what program you use for the audios on your more recent videos? the quality is great.

YES. one of the greatest American Saints.
May we see his canonization all over the world.
I was 16 and vehemently rebellious. Almost left the faith I was born into. Per chance I found myself in Platina back in 1981. I went to confession with him. He brought my back to our Lord's love.
The Church still produces wonderful Saints to this day!
FYI he is not a canonized saint yet
@@Hoodinator17 ...yet
@@烏梨師斂 true
@@Hoodinator17 He is a Saint. A Georgian metropolitan has canonized him locally. And even Metropolitan Neophytos of Corfu has said that St Seraphim Rose is a Saint.
He was born into a Protestant family? Please pray for us St. Fr Rose, who come from similar situations.
I will study his life closer.
Saint Father Seraphim Rose 🩵 truly a beautiful soul
I'm very new to Orthodox Christianity. I'm going through a very dark time in my life right now and a God sent friend reached out to offer me comfort and also bring me the good news.
Keep looking into Orthodoxy, and read the words of St. Seraphim Rose. He is a light to our disillusioned generation.
Brother (or sister) read the lives of the saints especially the modern ones they bring so much comfort. God loves you and He will give you strength to make it through these trials. May He bless your journey! 🙏🏻☦️
Be strong brother
Lord Have Mercy On You ❤
Praying for you, brother. It's my hope a year later, that you haven't given up on being joined to the body of Christ. Never give up. The Lord has pulled me out of depths of darkness as well. I'm with you.
Saint Seraphim Rose has been a great inspiration to me and has touched my heart. I've had a similar walk in the faith in many regards. Please pray for us, St. Seraphim Rose.
There is an ongoing process of Seraphim Rose canonisation in Russian Orthodox Church.
Also, your Russian is funny, ha ha😊
This is Orthodoxy this is being a Christian, this is love for humanity. Name a muslim, an Imam that save thousands and don't even have to be muslims. CHRIST IS KING, CHRIST HAS RISEN!!
Interesting. His story feels very similar to mine, even though it is the inverse. Seraphim Rose went from Protestantism, to Alan Watts, nearly to atheism, to then discover the Orthodox Church. I went from atheism, to Alan Watts, to Protestantism, to then discover the Orthodox Church. I am very nearly a catechumen now. I hope that my new life might approach something resembling the life of this seemingly blessed man.
Child of Charismatic renewal parents out of Roman Catholic and Episcopalian, was always interested in Greek philosophy and culture, wandered a great deal also, investigating Bhagavad Gita and as far as Zen, Watts was familiar to me also. Studied Jungian psychology also, even led into astrology from that point. Always had an interest in classical music, overtone singing, medieval music, and gregorian chanting... it took a particular woman Simone Weil to lead me back into what I would call Christianity, who I felt nearly diagnosed my condition which was similar to hers. Became baptized by pastors who ministered to me in my youth, and 7.5 years later I found myself in an Eastern Orthodox church, after spending those 7 years investigating my faith and examining it.
Seraphim Rose is recognizable to me as a Saint in these modern times, similar to how Simone Weil felt like a Saint to me for all those outside of the church.
I think he is a saint. I ask him to help me to be silent and humble.
To those asking why he is titled saint in this video. Being regarded as a Saint typically begin on the local level (such as it already has in the church in Georgia as well among individuals across the US and Russia). The canonization and recognition across all churches is done so through the synod which has not been called yet.
Yes. Holy Father of Platina, Hieromonk Seraphim Rose, pray to God for us!
God Bless St Seraphim Rose
Blessed Fr Seraphim died in 1982. How did you pray with and listen to him in 2003 to 2006?
He probably meant 1973 to 1976. Some kind of typo in the script perhaps.
Has Father Seraphim Rose finally been recognized as a Saint? If so that's excellent news!
@Οράω nice - I knew a diocese in Georgia has. Has anyone else?
@Οράω there has not been a single Synod that has canonized him. The monastery he was at switch from ROCOR to Serbian. Neither Moscow or Serbia has canonized him. Neither has Georgia
A metropolitan in Georgia declared him a saint and it is recognized only within his diocese. Hopefully this will lead to an official synod and his glorification will be recognized by the whole Church.

Don’t forget all true believers are saints with a small s. I, too see him as a capital S. Orthodox are notoriously slow in confirming Saints.
Hieromonk Seraphim of Platina (+ 1982) (whose surname in the world was Rose)
The Truth of orthodoxy can be seen through the Saints
I love your channel. Have a great Holy Week😊
Started reading his book "Orthodoxy and the religion of the future" today actually, and then this video came. What timing
thats an amazing book!
Christ is risen!!!!! Happy Easter!!
This Saint speaks deeply to me. I have walked much of this path.
Great story! But 2003 to 2006? Didn’t follow that. Probably not important in any case.
I had this same question. Very confusing.
@@louishurr393 This has been garbled by whoever is reading the text. The "Gregory" narrating this did not meet Seraphim Rose personally. Instead, as a quick websearch will tell you, it should read "around the years 2003-2006 I had the honor of spending time with, praying with and listening to the spiritual words of a truly humble man who loved Orthodoxy with all his heart. I speak of Dimitri Langeron, who lives with his wife Irene and their son Nicholas. Dimitri is Fr. Seraphim Rose's godfather and a most pious and God-loving man."
He spent time with Dimitri during 2003-2006, and his information on Rose is based on the testimony of this Dimitri.
I really appreciate this channel.
Great video. Thank you.
Interesting & inspiring, thanks for sharing
The first time I learned of Fr. Seraphim Rose and listened to one of his lectures, something deep within my soul shifted. I felt things moving within my heart and mind and saw everything from a completely new and positive perspective.
I don’t know how to explain what happened but suffice to say that this saint touched me deeply.
Thank you to this blessed man of God 🙏
There’s always been something about Fr Seraphim, his writings and his pictures, that just comforts me. I can feel his fatherly love just through images. I pray for his canonization soon.
His story does seem similar to mine. Not that we are equals in any way for I am a horrible sinner. But at the moment I’m a catechumen in the Russian Orthodox Church
So good.
how can I ask the lord for forgiveness for my sins
Has he been canonized? If not the title needs changed. If so I would like to know.
I love this content. Thank you ✝️🙏🏽❤️🇪🇬
i tried to have him as my patron saint but my bishop said no

I’m the 1000th like
Wait…when was he canonized?
A Metropolitan in Georgia acknowledged him as a Saint within his diocese. But a synod has not been called yet to make his glorification "official" throughout the whole Church.
@@zakcaldwell8465 Hmmm. This seems like a slippery slope, and very much non-Orthodox. I’m not denying the likelihood of Fr. Seraphim’s sainthood being inevitable, but when we start bending the standards to suit our own emotional desires we lose the proper order and boundaries that exist for everything else. Canonization is ultimately an event, not a blurry window of time. A woman doesn’t take the name of her husband before she is married even though she is engaged. We don’t sing Christ Is Risen during Holy Week just because Pascha is a certainty. We don’t call a future priest Father before he is ordained, even though the bishop has planned the ordination.
That's why he consulted with two canonists of the Church beforehand, to make sure what he was doing had canonical precedent and he could indeed do so.
@@louishurr393 Canonization typically begins at the local level.
God bless you ❤☦️
He's an example to me, a gay man who loves Christ.
He was not "a gay man". He indulged in homosexuality before he found Christ. After he became Christian, he did no longer practice homosexuality and he described the period during which he did as follows: "I was in hell". This is a redemption arc of someone moving from depravity to holiness, and you have the gall to describe it as "a gay man who loves Christ"?
You're wrong
@@ecgwineicling2543 Exactly! I agree with you

Where is this from?
did the KGB poison him?
Grace illumined him.
@@iliya3110 I mean his illness. He was/is a secret bishop ordained by Christ himself.
@@seraphim3TN Yeah, who knows. That’d be kinda crazy if he was. I thought he basically died of appendicitis
I would not be surprised

@@TheByzAmericanWizard sainthood is declared when all of the synod decides to it
@@MJDahling Sainthood is RECOGNIZED by a synod. But he is already seen as a Saint by many of the Church Laymen of America.
God is the one who makes saints. St Seraphim Rose is a Saint. Even if he is not recognized by the world it matters little. Especially when he wrote against both Ecumenist modernists and against the rigorist super correct schismatics. It makes sense that he is not recognized by modernist bishops. The only people I've seen question his sainthood are modernists.
We have other Saints that are recognized by the laymen yet not by the hierarchs yet. Like Elder Ephraim of Philotheou and Arizona, Elder Aimilianos, and Elder Joseph of Vatopedi. All of these Saints have also wrote against modernism and ecumenism.
Agreed!!! This is dangerous to disregard the process just because we think it should be. He very well WILL be a saint when he is formally cannonized. But we live within the boundaries of time and order in our earthly existence and even within the Church. “Will be” and “is” are not the same. Otherwise you just have disorder, confusion, and chaos. Remember, patience is a virtue.
@@TheByzAmericanWizard This is NOT Orthodox.
