Not even the reviewers from all those respected sites and magazines learned how to use it and its sad because its a basic part of the mode. I dont want to make it sound like its the greatest thing you will ever play but it is way more intricate deep and better than it has been presented and described. If you get good at the mode you will appreciate it, if you never really try or just BS around with it you wont feel like you've missed anything. I think the problem is its not what ppl expected, its not ht someone with a lightsaber mode its more master controlling the flow of combat mode.
They never put the mode in proper context or developed the skill to play it. It is a time attack mode, its sequenced but not scripted. The mode doesnt kill you but the challenge is to beat the enemy fast and thats when you have to really develop skill which most did not. My biggest issue with this mode is there were to few fights. I would have loved a battle against the Emperor, or Dark Ankin, or General Greivous or maybe go to the Darkside and fight Yoda, Obi Wan, and Luke fingers crossed prt 2
You describe the mode at its most basic level. It would be like saying SF is a game were you push a button to hit each other. 1st they attack and you defend with 4 different ways some are harder than the other and give you time saving bonuses. Then you have your clash which is a skill of doing 1 of 3 ways to break at the right time. There is also positioning so that you can use the force. Then there is actually using the force. And to be good it all takes a level of juggling a bunch of skills.

This will parry the blade, earning quick points, but requires a lot more timing than other abilities. In fact, you have three abilities to combat the attacks with. Dodge is when you move away from the blade. This earns the least attack momentum. Block is when you move the sabre to block the blade. This earns a medium amount. Parry is when you swing towards the sabre to deflect it. This earns the most and gives a massive bonus if you parry three times in a row. After this, you enter the sabre lock mode. Sparks fly along the blades. When they meet, you have to thrust a hand forward to force push, headbutt, or kick the enemy. This will stun and enter the attack phase. Most people figure out the attack phase is just picking up shit and slashing when the shit hits. There's a lot of timing involved, at least.

Well tbh it looks pretty boring (can't tell though, haven't played the game myself). Looks like you switch from dodging/blocking for a certain amount of time, attacking for a certain amount of time.

Darth Vader cannot use force lightning unless he has the Kaliber Crystal. But your right.
