- In this tutorial I will show you how to operate the autopilot for the Cessna Citation Longitude and set the following:
Instruments - 0:12
Altitude - 0:41
Heading - 2:19
NAV (fly on waypoints) - 2:54
Throttle - 3:51

The auto-throttle was impossible to find. Your video was the only one I could find, thanks!
The auto throttle button is on the rear side of the throttle levers. Look down and to centre, between the seats on the centre console.
That “Arm Auto Throttle” button just blew my mind... I can’t believe I missed it there! Thanks!
Thank you! Didnt know about FMS Nav source... Clear and working now.
I don’t have this 😂
Crisp and informative. Great video.
Thanks a lot couldn’t figure out auto throttle
for the autothrottle......"FMS" means the autothrottles will follow the speeds that are set in the FMS. In real life, we usually leave it in FMS because it will post the proper speeds respecting your flap settings, gear and climb/decent..ect. If you are doing an arrival, it will follow the posted speeds for that arrival....it will also got 250kts at 10,000 on your decent.
i dont have this sim so i dont know if it even works....but try this.
line up on the runway for take off and select the FMS SPEED. look at what the speed goes to, it should be magenta and indicate max speed for whatever flaps you're using for take off.
then selecet the autothrottle ON and begin to advance the throttles......about 2/3 of the way up, autothrottle will engage and off you go.
gear up and flaps up then select VERTICAL SPEED.....that removes the autothrottle from the TAKEOFF setting and it will go to whatever is set.
then select FLC......now it will climb at the set climb speed at the best rate using maximum thrust......you can leave it in FMS all the way to landing if you want.
Thanks fo that information ;)
Hello, Nice video, but I'm like many when i take off this airplane keep wiggling left and right while in the cruse would you advise why? please help, thanks
Great tutorial thank you!
You got anything on the flight computer, to go to an airport while in flight? Thanks !
Good one, thank you very much.. Same as many others I did not know where the Auto Throttle was.
I don’t have the fms option on mine what do I do
Very enjoyable, and very easy to follow!! Sometimes a bit difficult to follow your cursor, but a Great introduction!! I'm transitioning from Boeing 767 so a bit strange, but I just need to find the buttons! Autothrotle was good to know! Cheers .
my autopilot disconnects as soon as I press it, what i am missing?
Very clear and easy to follow. Thanks a lot!
Great video 👍
Appreciate your efforts to explain the Longitude automation. As a real world jet pilot & first-time flight simmer, I have mixed feelings about Flight Sim 2020: the developers have done an outstanding job in rendering real world scenery & stunning looking aircraft - but as for actual aircraft performance & interaction, I'm afraid it's a major FAIL. Admittedly, I've never flown any Citation models (my experience is all Boeing & Airbus), but the limited flight deck functionality & flight dynamics are a huge disappointment. Meanwhile, I've been told by others that I'd do well to keep my expectations very low until respected 3rd party aircraft developers bring their offerings to the table.
I know exactly how you feel. I don't play it as much as I really hoped I would because of the same reasons. There are already some good third party mods out there probably worth checking out, but it's an added task which may have features that should already be available in the vanilla version.
The A320NX (heavily modded default A320NEO) is very good and will only get better and better with time. Check it out, many YTs with real world A320 pilots flying it in MSFS :)
I can’t change to FMS, simply doesn’t give me that option. Any idea why
ThankYou, learned about auto-speed today....!!!🤓
One of my favorite planes in the game an I own nearly all of them 😅
i dont see fms on my left screen
I couldn't figure out how to get Managed Speed mode to work until I watched your video, thanks! I didn't realize there was an "arm" button on the throttle!
Glad I could help
How do I get my GPS screen on. When I activate Fly, the GPS screen is off.
❤from🇧🇷
Thank you sir you taught me something else
Thank you so much man appreciate it a lot
Subbed!
Thanks--I'm familiar with how to use the AP, but for some unknown reason, it suddenly stops working (not only the Longitude but other aircraft--especially those with Garmin glass). Even worse, it executes uncommanded roll excursions! On an IFR flight plan (duh--turbine aircraft rarely fly without one) I set Alt and used VS mode (it captured the set assigned alt) and Nav mode tracked the flightplan accurately. I was also able to get it to climb to the next alt (FL180 to FL270 to FL350 to FL400 were the steps this flight) but then the altimeter didn't agree with ATC (which should take into account the std baro setting of QNH/29.92 above FL180). Further, it wouldn't hold any set altitude. I've also had it not only fail to hold a heading (either using HDG or NAV mode), but it starts rolling in either direction--to the point of inversion (and a stall/spin/structural failure if you let it)! Of course, I disconnect the AP (usually with a yoke button but also clicking the AP or CMD button on the glare shield) and hand-fly, but if I then tryr to re-engage the AP, it simply won't work! This is ridiculous and it keeps happening. As I recall, the AP works fine in "steam gauge" aircraft (such as the Skyhawk). Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a solution (other than hand-flying cross-country flights)? Asobo's wasting way too many resources on eye candy when they should focus on functionality first! We 've paid way to much to keep beta testing for MS...
How can I download this aircraft to my X Box(S) if I already have the Standard version?
Hi, I'm not too sure if available on XBox? I'm a PC gamer and bought the top package. I know that there are some aircraft missing for for lower teir versions for the PC. Maybe it's the same for XBox?
@@TheTrooperG You are right; it's the same. They do have airports and aircraft for sale in the marketplace but not the aircraft in the premium versions.
When flying the plane, as I was try to gain altitude as instructed using altitude hold, AP...ect. the nose would bounce up an down. Is it an error im making or it the sim?
Dude, the Autopilot is crazy. switch AP components off and on again until it stops. lol Not the AP button but the nav and alt and FLC buttons. I just got mine leveled out. Make sure you select an appropriate altitude and appropriate speed n stuff. Fake it till you make it. :)
Lol thanks man. I appreciate it, ill give that a shot.
They completely killed my enthusiasm when they released all bugs with the Japan-update. Sometimes I wonder if that update included som old coding that came out by accident. This game is in a sad state at the moment if you ask me....
alt hold means its holding altutude that is set in the altitude alerter. its bouncing because because your're overriding it and its trying to get back to the pre seleceted altutude.
to change alt....put a new altitude in the alerter, then hit VS and set in whatever climb rate you want.
Nice vid!
Too many tutorials, for beginners get too complicated too fast
Thanks bro, helped me out on the series X . I couldn’t find the auto-throttle
Is this a program I can download from the internet?
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 can be purchased from Microsoft and downloaded. Please see their system requirements. The software takes up a lot of space.
Yes, you can download it from either the Microsoft store or from Steam.
