For those of you who don't know, the original "Ullo Tosh, Gotta Toshiba" song was based on Alexei Sayle's comedy hit "Ullo John Gotta New Motor" which was popular on release in 1982, charting on re-release in 1984. On that song each line is repeated twice (which is why the early Toshiba adverts did the same)
The "get your ears round that, wallop!" line for the hi-fi system is also inspired by the line "Here's my calling card, wallop!" from the original.
Classic adverts back in the day, enjoyed watching all those in one go.

Glad somebody credited Alexei Sayle for his finest moment.

Will always remember the Toshiba computer ad .... hello, dad, can I have a computer?? On the back of that ad, managed to get my dad to at least look at getting me a Toshiba computer. Ended up buying an Amstrad CPC instead ... think I made the right choice in the end!!!

My cousin still has Toshiba computer, And still works that is when they built things to last
My dad still has his Amiga 1000 + 500 PC, And still works
      Same with my Spectrum + 2, Nintendo-NES + Super Nintendo :-)

I love old ads for electronics. Every single one of those hi-tech devices would be horribly outdated today. But still, the charm is there.

Some of those old CD players sound better than what's around today. I know because I've compared them.
Japanese hi-fi back then was expensive and well made, and quality was the main parameter rather efficiency, cost etc.

Hello Tosh, got a Toshiba ! Brilliant ! This was the Time when the High tech Japanese Quality and reliability was making obsolete the unreliable poor quality UK / American Models like ITT , Bush, Decca etc.. Asia was the rising Star in Manufacturing Electronics..

Bloody hell I haven't seen the VCR advert at 2:37 since I was about 10 years old (30 years ago). For some reason that repeating 'Eeema-tosh' sound heard throughout that advert always got stuck in my head.

@@Hotshotter3000 Not Japanese anymore and not like the products of old with a "Made In Japan" sticker on them. Today's Toshiba products don't last quite as long, I have a friend whom had a Toshiba TV which only lasted 6 years. The old Tosh products lasted a lot longer, today's Tosh products are manufactured using cheap Chinese components that are streets away from the quality products they used to make in Japan. My friend now has a Sony TV and it's streets ahead in visual and aural quality.

I love that when they're selling a microwave they use a female Tosh with big breasts. Because wimmin do the cooking, not listen to music or watch TV, right? Couldn't do that today.

With home cinema, you can give it some welly,

With sound from 5 speakers, here wait a minute,
Watching it? I'm sitting in it!,
The picture and the sound just grew and grew,
And it comes from Toshiba your move Mr Blue,

    Now Toshiba created home cinema?
