This was one of the best reviews I’ve seen. I can tell you when into this game as objective as possible. I do agree the foundation is there with the gameplay but unfortunately that’s were the praise stops. Only 7 match types, no online creation suit, no full entrances, no 6/8 man matches, an outdated kick out system, no commentary, no superstar editing. This game went backwards by 10-20 years. There’s match types I can do on no mercy that I can’t do here. For 2023 this game is way too barebones. It’s a shame because we know how great competition is when it comes to wrestling. I was hoping for this title to at least be able to stand against wwe, but they don’t come close to what wwe has to offer.
AEW Fight Forever is worth $40 at most and the $30 Season Pass is a F'n joke. The gameplay is solid but everything else is bare bones. I know it's supposed to "get better with time" but I'm getting sick of that mentality. I payed full price, give me a complete game.
Great honest review! I saw Road To Elite days before it's release and was so disappointed by it and i refused to buy it after that. I don't care about this being their 1st game! They had 3 years to work on this, delayed it over and over.. THQ/Yukes gave us a different story on those SD games every year from 2000-2013... they had 3 years to do this game and that's the story they gave us? Absolutely pathetic!
2:37 I think that was done as a tribute to WWF No Mercy where the entrances also don't show them go all the way to the ring, however, that was a mistake on this game's part. No Mercy did initially intend to have full entrances as you can see in beta screenshots of the game, but since the N64 cartridge was running out of space to fit all of those animations and the developers didn't want to pull a Donkey Kong 64 and require the expansion pack for the game to be playable, so the entrances were cut in half to only show them on stage. AEW Fight Forever has no such excuse to do the same and is one of the many reasons the game is so half baked.
I don't find it lovable at all. If it's any other wrestling company's logo on the cover and not AEW's, it gets shit on by everyone. It's a 3/10 game and how this is delayed for so long and THIS is what we get, it's shameful. Other than WWE 2K20, it's easily the worst wrestling game since 2K15. But I enjoy your vids, keep up the good work.
I love AEW Fight Forever. But as many have said, it is missing as lot of stuff. I do not have anything to spend my AEW cash on now since I bought all the items. I hope they keep updating it or release a new game in a year or two. Probably AEW gave them a small budget to work with. Thankfully, I got it for $35. I think a max price of $40 would have been justified.
It really isn't that bad, it's actually extremely fun when you first pick it up. Me and my son had a blast playing this for a bit. Until we didn't. It's just kind of barebones and gets boring pretty quickly. It definitely feels like a game that came out a decade ago, the graphics remind me of playing Smackdown vs Raw 2006-07, and it kind of even plays similar. But again, it just feels outdated. Kenny Omega definitely made a game that was fun to play for awhile, but it's just not fulfilling. Given the sheer amount of times it was delayed, you expected them to put out a game that was more polished than this one. They had Yukes helping them and legendary wrestling game designers, it *should have been better* and it just sadly wasn't. With how much Kenny Omega, Adam Cole and Excalibur hyped up this game, it's just bad. That isn't to say it isn't fun, which I have to keep saying because it is and I'm really digging into it here. Fight Forever just feels like it was only halfway completed and they decided that they had to release it given how much times it was delayed and the amount of hype they gave it. Factor in the price? Canadian dollars, it was over $80 with the deluxe edition being something like $112-120 or something like that. When this game feels like it should be priced at $40 maximum. Just got to the point where you said it's 2023 and we should expect better, and we do. I feel ripped off at $80 when I could've gotten the new WWE 2K game for $10 more and much more to do in the game. 2k does have its bugs and glitches, as they rush these massive games annually, but at least they have the massive content available to justify the price tag.
My main takeaway from this game is its lazy the fact we have all the tag names to create tag teams by ourselves and having to make secondary attires through the lack luster creation suite
I've enjoyed your wrestling game videos so far and looking forward to more. The SvR games ranked would be interesting to see. Also there's some fun Nintendo GameCube wrestling games to check out.
I haven't bought the AEW game yet and being $60, it doesn't look like it's worth it. It's more close to being priced like WWE Battlegrounds with its content.
The gameplay is fun, but that's where it stops! The creation mode is barebones. Every time I exit out of something, I'm consistently bombarded with "Hey, connect to the internet." "What if I don't wanna play with randos?" "What if I just wanna play offline by myself?" Plus, there's no option to turn that feature off 🫤 The RTE can be beaten within 3 hours 🙄 because when I heard there were branching storylines, my first thought was, "So like the Smackdown games on the PS2?" Even that's lacking. Overall, I agreed that even THQ made mention of AEW jump the gun and announced the game too early on. For a $60 game, I would say if you're really curious, wait for a sale because there is something here, but for now, it's really lacking in areas that need fixing or at some tweaking.

It's a continuing trend with game's now. Give me the old PS2 game's no updates required...
Man you probably have more fun downloading the roster of pw mods or cc
The animations at 3:29 look like something straight out of that scene of Xavier Renegade Angel when Xavier is arguing with himself.

Probably a budget thing. It is not up to to dev or pub if they are not given that much money to work with. Of course, I am expeculating.

Hey, we got mini games and dining out, lol! I would put 2K15 above FF.
Suprised u dont have more subs i been binge watching u and u do really well

This is one game that I wished I would’ve waited for. This is not worth full price!
Lovable mess is the best way I’ve heard the game described.
Im subbing for future wrestling videos
Also half these guys are in 2k via dlc or on disk hell I'll highly recommend getting 2k and grabbing the caws from cc

Certainly needs more going on. Price is way too high for what you get. 😆
It's been a month since realese and it's under 60 players on steam
Epicness to the tenth degree!
TNA game had also short entrances
I agree💯
Just like AEW is as a rasslin’ company 😂😂😂😂😂
RTE was a joke. It was one of the most linear, non-sensical story modes I’ve ever played with no substance. No where near in-depth as No Mercy
smarks will defend this
It does not play like No Mercy or Wrestlemania 2000
Lies.
