    To me, Jaws 2 was always a great sequel. It felt like a natural continuation from the first one, also the way it was directed, the look of the picture and sound, while 3 and 4 also felt visually very different and like not being in the same universe.
    A sequel I hold dear in my heart 🤗

    I love the Andy character. He’s so confident, fun, but also strong. I especially love when he’s being tough with Sean but then softens up. Great character. I feel like he held the group together.
    These interviews are really fun, thank you so much!
    (A fun aside, I start watching the Jaws movies every summer on June 1st. This year I’ve already watched Jaws 2 about 4 times. I’ve really grown to love it more and more every time I see it.)

    I think a really strong aspect of Jaws 2 is the teenagers and their performances. You really believe they're all friends who go to school together, and hang out on the weekends and off time. It could have been really bad for the film had they been written worse or more unlikable, but as they are, I think they're a decent compliment to Scheider's Brody.

      I have always heard that actors love rehearsing and that their performances and chemistry are better if a lot of rehearsing is done first. In the case of Jaws 2, the "rehearsing" was all the hanging out they got to do over quite a long period. I think most "teen" horror movies would be a lot stronger if the actors got to know each other well before most of the filming happened.

    The teenage cast for Jaws 2 was great. And they're one reason why I love Jaws 2 as much as I do. Everyone seemed to be having so much fun together and that showed in the film. Their chemistry and their charm definitely helped make the film more enjoyable.

    The scene where he is throwing the rope to Sean, although brief, is one of the highlights of the movie. How he got mean with him about catching the rope, but all to get him to man up and them help him. And in the end, he gives him a hug. I was glad he made it and didn't get eaten.

    The scene with Andy & Sean is one of the highlights of the movie.
    I have a hot take on the first two Jaws movies; while Jaws will always be my favorite by a wide margin, I'd argue that Jaws 2 was scarier. I'd also argue the Jaws 2 theme is, if not better than the Jaws theme, at least more interesting. The first theme evokes pure primal fear and it works perfectly on that level, but the Jaws 2 theme somehow manages to be both scary and beautiful, evoking a feeling of uncertainty and dread.

    • @isuriadireja91
      @isuriadireja91 Рік тому +1

      Many view Jaws 1 as a horror movie, which i rather disagree with.
      I see that first movie more as an Adventure Thriller.
      Jaws 2, however.. Now, that one's definitely a horror flick. They even decided to scar the shark to scarify it even more... It predated Freddy as the first burnt horror creature.

He played the good friend of an overweight girl (Wendy Jo Sperber) who is ignored by her liberal activist mother (June Lockhart). In the movie, Gary calls out the mother constantly for her dizzy politics and for neglecting her daughter.

    Personally, I think Jaws 2 was an awesome movie in both actors and story. I do however think the new mechanical shark in Jaws 2 looked and performed very different from the original. It looks fake in many scenes. The original "Bruce" looked very real and more convincing. I wish the same shark was used! This is my only gripe with Jaws 2.

    • @RabidGerry
      @RabidGerry Рік тому

      I agree and its so bizarre as they used the same moulds for 1 and 2 definitely but yeah it has this weird under bite type mouth in 2 it looks so silly. It's also coloured differently for some reason. It's barely dark grey on white, more like a light grey all over. Still love the film though 😀. The Revenges Shark I think again had same moulds but they resculpted the mouth to have those great white retractable jaws, but even that didn't make it look any better as the skin was a weird rough looking texture and makes it look bad. Funny thing is I can still watch that movie 😂
