    The realistic image looks amazing, but personally I think the second collage image looks way more interesting and looks great to put in portfolios.

      For sure Seong! Both the second and third let you express your ideas much better. And you can be more authentic, which is essential for a good portfolio

    So useful and to the point. I always spend way too much time trying to make things look perfect. My favorite is a combination of the collage technique with crisp and accurate linework from the model. Looks technical but has depth and scale of material

      Thanks for the feedback Maria! That's a really nice style for sure. Sometimes I like to overlay this accurate line work, but in white! It gives such an interesting contrast

Realistic is the easiest and best. People lose time doing others old ways of representation but the future is here.

    • @LearnUpstairs
      @LearnUpstairs  5 років тому +1

      Hi Laura! For me it really depends to who are you going to present it.
      For a client, yes realistic is the way to go. But for your portfolio? I'd choose a mix of some techniques.
      They have much more identity and shows you representation skills and creativity better.
      But this is definitely an arguably topic and each one should have your preferred way

    • @laukmedina
      @laukmedina 5 років тому

      @@LearnUpstairs Hi! I understand what you mean, that comes from the poetic mindset of an architect. But, according to that why do not use hand drawing instead? that would have more identity. My point is that even vray is part of the past and you as an architect must be more focused in show your identity in the design rather than in the representation. Virtual Reality is the future and even there you can incorporate creative representation. By the way, what you did is a Great Job! your very talented!

    Is there any advantages between the 3 styles? What should I consider when choosing a style to showcase my projects?

    • @LearnUpstairs
      @LearnUpstairs  2 роки тому +1

      You chose the style that most speaks to you. But also take into account the audience you’re presenting.
      If you’re still in school, and your presentation will be to your professors, then you can explore your creativity and be unique. They usually encourage you to do that.
      But if you’re talking to a client that has very little knowledge of architecture, realism may be your best bet!
      Hope that makes sense!

    • @LearnUpstairs
      @LearnUpstairs  5 років тому +1

      Eai Paulo! Na minha visão com certeza! Você tem que mostrar suas habilidade de expressar a arquitetura. Render e imagem realista não é a única maneira.
      As vezes tem faculdades que os professores são bem cabeça fechada e não tem visão, aí pode ser que complique. Mas com um projeto bem resolvido, não importa o estilo de imagem. Se você souber mostrar o espaço, profundidade, luz, amplitude e etc. Vale até papel e carvão 👊👊

    This is not architecture guys, this is just representation, so don’t skip your theoretical classes to spend more time on photoshop.

    • @LearnUpstairs
      @LearnUpstairs  4 роки тому +1

      One doesn't work without the other one. Learning how to represent is learning how to express yourself as an architect, being in renderings, collages, plans, sections, sketches, and so on.
      But definitely don't skip theoretical classes to learn photoshop 🙂

    • @theodoreroosevelt7471
      @theodoreroosevelt7471 4 роки тому +2

      Upstairs sure, and you’re doing a great job. It’s just that students tend to be focused on graphics that they tend to believe that representation is all that matters. And sometimes you get great representation with really bad spatial features. The result: they end working for someone else’s ideas.
