I am proud of you Grambling State University Tigers!Purdue, congratulations on your win.
#GramFam
I’m late to this one but I was at this game as a Purdue fan, and the Grambling fans were a really great crowd. Congrats on a great season to Grambling!
BOILER UP! Hammer down! Great game guys. Congratulations to Grambling State on making the tournament for the 1st time. They played their butts off.
They won’t be shyt next year, trust me
@@quantumo2099yeah and you’re the same type of clown who was saying Purdue would get upset by grambling. Sit TF down you clueless twit
@@quantumo2099you’re the same type clown that said they’d lose this game. Haha you’re clueless

Pure domination from Edey
By far the best HBCU basketball in the tournament since Norfolk 2012
I saw these guys play this year. Vs UAPB in Pine Bluff. I'd give anything to have seen this team go up against UK or maybe even UVA somehow. They just couldn't figure Frankenstein out. Edey is starting to look like Patrick Ewing.
Excellent performance and they don't lose too much. Theylll be back.
You don't need your big guy hitting 3's to win. Great back-to-basics basketball from Purdue.
Purdue the Virginia of the rust belt Midwest.
Purdue will have no better chance than this year. Get it done. 👍🏻
Edey is phenomenal, so are the Boilermakers. ❤🎉
Purdue no Final Four since 1980.

I’m just impressed GS scored 50 against Purdue-
Texas southern would never in a million years do what grambling had done in the tournament😂😂😂

I was there. Edey dominated the game!
Yes, he did! Can't wait for the next Purdue game! We were too! (Me and my daughter). It was like a big home game! We had a TON of fun!
@@jamesandrebekahbadgley6608they dominated today
Cant be super upset if you're a Grambling fan or player. they didn't get to far In the tournament but this team has now setup Grambling for a great future. Now they can recruit good players who actually know Grambling exists
Same.with Oakland, WHO TF KNEW THERE WAS A SCHOOL NAMED OAKLAND THATS ABOUT 20 MILES FROM 8 MILE DETROIT!!
While I agree with the 1st half, unlike Oakland Grambling is well known 😂
Big win for Purdue after last year
They struggled against a #16 seed in first half and Grambling was overmatched inside by a 7’4” slow goon who actually had his shot blocked a couple times in the first half. 78 points total for the game? I’m totally unimpressed by Purdue.
@@mal723and with all that said Purdue still won by 25 points at the end.
@@mal723someone’s mad their team didn’t make the tourney
Wow Purdue is scary.Connecticut,Houston, and North Carolina hopes they don't play Purdue deeper in the tournament. This team is very capable of reaching the national championship game.I just wonder how Purdue lost to a 16th seed last year.Hopefully they can get it done this year. 👍 Go Boilermakers !!
They have showed OS much improvement all season. The problems that caused them to lose last year were prevalent all year. It is not even close to the same for this season.
2 freshman guards last year, and the 16 seed had to old guards that were just bigger and stronger.
Houston fan here- don't know if your a Boilermarker but we have had to deal with a worker version of Zach Edey as much of a threat he is. If you know Tacko Fall, at 7'6 he and UCF ruined our college gameday, there was nothing we could to stop. Fall had height to block shots, no effort to dunk at the rim, protect the ball in his position, and was freakishly athletic (had speed, agile, and flexibility).
If a Purdue vs Houston matchup did happen, Zach Edey is the lesser but still a problem nonetheless, just glad he does not have the speed to backup his talent or its lights out for everyone in March Madness and non-conference play- that would make him truly frightening!
@@designer72hd41 Taco was legit in college. It's a good comp, definitely not as athletic, but Edey still has great footwork for a bigman. He's basically been taught to just make life difficult for shooters w/out risking fouls, so not the shot blocker Fall was. But still a good defender.
I wasn't sure about Houston as a legit threat, but how they handled conference play convinced me, you guys are legit, same as UConn. Hope Purdue gets to meet one of them b/c it will be fun game. People complain about Purdue games being unwatchable, but if they watched AZ, or some of the other non con games earlier in the year, they'd realize it's how teams are defending Purdue that makes it unwatchable, talented teams won't play like that and the game will be a joy to watch.
@@tric5122 not playing in a P5/6 conference for years doesn't help but we are here now to start anew.
I think Purdue is horrible matchup for Houston and I say this because of one thing: we get fouls like no other team in the country does and guess who is the foul issuer magnet on Purdue's squad: Zach Edey. Our defense is a double edge sword against him and if the game were to go down to the wire in final 1-2 minutes and ball is in his possession... I don't even want to know.
A little off topic from Purdue: For UConn, I wish everyone would give them the respect they deserve especially earlier on at the beginning and during early conference play. People forget this fact: they are the current regining national champion of basketball and looking to repeat it. They have been extremely consistent the entire year and was disregarded publicly to some extent, at least in my opinion. I want to see UConn tested against a Purdue, a Houston, a Iowa State (in ways, they mirror my Houston Cougars which is very scary- this is the only team in the entitr tournament I hope to never meet if it came down to it in the championship round with how they make teams turn the ball over), and/or maybe a North Carolina to see what UConn's ceiling is.
I just watched this whole game only watching Edey.
This needs to be the first guy off the board.
1. Hes got a big frame. He almost bodied everyone he posted up on just by bumping into them.
2. That Baby Hook is unstoppable. He has a signature move.
3. Hes massive. Not just tall. Hes built like Steve Adams, the most feared man in the NBA.
4. He did everything right in this game. He showed you pro feet, finesse and flair. Hes the man.
Zach Edey is gonna get his baskets every game, it’s gonna come down to the perimeter players knocking down open shots in order to keep the defense honest
Yea we need more from our guards. Can’t rely on 30 and 21 from Zach every game.
Second best 3 point shooting team in division 1!
@@floydbontrager2036hopefully it sticks. Smith has really stepped it up big time, loyer needs to do the same if we wanna go all the way
My favorite play was Cam going over the top with the alley from Smith… it broke Grambling’s back…
PVU Showing love to GSU!
Edey was getting fouled every possession.
They got the win but if they play like they did in the first half in anymore tournament games they’re going to get bounced. Painter needs to turn them loose from the tip. The key to them winning it all is Smith. They need him to play at the level he was during their non conference schedule when he was completely unstoppable. Turn them loose and act as if there’s no tomorrow. They looked fantastic in the second half but we need that intensity from the first whistle.
Edey would be drafted Number 1 in the 90's
Zach edey is crazy unstoppable brk

Eady gotta get quicker/more agile if he wants it make an impact at the nba level imo, seems very slow and quicker players just running by him. Let’s see how far they get in the tourney, but they may have difficulty when they face actual comp

At4:10 that has to be a travel ????? Anyone
If you're talking about Smith @3:54 practically skipping up the court taking 4 or 5 steps with only one dribble, then yeah, that's a travel.
Oh! I see. You're talking about Loyer catching, landing, taking a stepping forward, then taking a step back, before finally dribbling and then putting up the 3. Yes. That's also a travel. Same play. Two clear traveling violations, no call.
Yeah I know crazy

i’m sorry but purdue would be a 8-12 seed if they didn’t have edey
But they do
And the Bulls would’ve won 0 championships without MJ
Wow! I thought they might call Edey for fouls in the NCAA tourney. @3:13 shows I was wrong. That was his second clear foul so far in these highlights. At least this one wasn't called against Grambling State, unlike the two hooks he threw @1:08. If they get Big Ten reffing like this, Purdue may actually win the tourney!
Shut up
Found the grambling state student
then you weren't paying attention, he was called far tougher in the big 10 then he was non conference. Non conference was far tougher opponents and the refs just let the teams play. Start watching basketball and learn.
@@matthewdesanctis4451 _Found the grambling state student_ says the Purdue student, incorrectly.
@@tric5122 I've watched tons of Purdue games this year, mostly in the Big Ten. Edey usually commits about a dozen fouls per game, with ten of those being called on the other team. If he was called even more leniently in the non-conference, which I doubt, that would be unforgivable. Usually in the tourney, the reffing isn't as kind to him, hence Purdue's perennial early departure.
For what it's worth, I hope Purdue does well this year. They have a great team and solid coach. I even think Edey is a talented player. But I also have eyes in my head, and can see that he constantly throws hooks, climbs over the back, and knocks opponents to the ground and gets away with it - more than any other player I've ever seen. And I'm far from alone in that assessment.
Edey is lowkey mid
Watch the grambling post game press conference, and you’ll hear a different story.
20/30 definitely screams mid; as well as back to back national player of the year.
If edey is mid then everyone else who plays basketball should just quit 😂
the committee made sure Purdue was given a cupcake region let alone first two games so they won’t choke in the first weekend
I mean all the 8/9s are free besides maybe Michigan St
The region is pretty good on the other side? Also 1 seeds tend to have pretty easy games, especially if the 4 and 5 seed are bad. You never seen a bracket before or….?
Purdue haters can’t help but hate
Um it's pretty chalky in this region so far
Dumbest comment of the day. Congrats.
