Yes SIR!
Yeah I liked that bit an all.
dude, that's funny.
Millennials need a seminar to understand that these guys are the founding fathers of it all
I see what you did there ;-)
These "at home" streams have been a blessing in challenging times. They have opened up a semi-personal world of our favourite artists that we may have never had the chance to see. The home studios and dj booths are where the magic starts before the albums, clubs and stages. Massive love to all the artists for giving us these rare opportunities.
Agreed, one of the only good things to come out of this whole lockdown situation.
I'm expecting an avalanche of new music to hit the scene as all the artists get down to distraction free creation.
I 100 % agree!
I really loved a set done by "The Midnight" recently.
Cool work love this oldskool vibe thanks for uploading 👍🍻
Humanity winning! ✌️X
Frank Skinner really puts on a good Orbital set
I was about to post same thing....LOL
Can't see Frank Skinner keeping up that level of rhythmic swaying for longer than a few seconds...
@@APoxOnNordStream still longer than he can keep up being funny!!!
Mike Denby hahahahaha 🤣🤣🤣👊🏻✌🏻
😂
Shout out to everyone still listening to Orbital in 2020! I am a recent fan, as of a few months ago, and can gladly say that O is up there for best electronic band ever
How about 21?
Definitely! Glad you found them!
fan since 1995 when i saw the movie Hackers and heard the soundtrack
They are just like music, are beyond time
That 303 had a wonderful life :D
FourTet worth a fortune
It could tell some stories no doubt
Everybody Needs a 303!
Imagine hearing this music coming from the garage and you walk inside and it is your dad.
Yes, & Paul keeps looking around as if his mum's about to shout out "Paul get down here, your dinners ready!"
When I play this kind of music, my daughter tells me I have terrible taste in music. She is only 9, so I'm hoping she'll come around!
Doesn't matter if it's Dad, Grandad, Teen, 20 something what is good is good. Dads now grew up with Rave, Dance, Techno so why would they stop liking it?
@@nutster9000 I reckon he's keeping an look out for his grocery delivery from Sainsburys :D
My dad would play Kraftwerk. I play this. My kids dig it all.
Orbital changed my life. Insides is one of the most sublime experiences ever. Thanks!
Yes. That album affected me in profound ways as well. Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.
Agreed. It's a work of art.
+1
I've got the CD in my car right now.
Insides deffo they're best album in my opinion, sounds so industrial, love it
Middle of nowhere was stuck in my cars cd player for 5 years and I can still listen to it and hear new parts, and tunes like Halcyon can give me gossebumps/make my eyes leak after decades. Much love and thanks.
^this but for every orbital album always for different people. something special every time.
Middle of Nowhere best album they did apart from Snivilisation. Went a bit downhill after.
Erratic Buddha
Insides on Out There Somewhere Part 2 samples the sound of UFOs off UFO (Gerry Anderson). Listen out.
Ever listen to Spare Parts Express on repeat?
It’s modern day symphony
I've just turned 50 and have rediscovered Orbital. Some tracks take me back to my 20's. I remember buying Chime as 12" vinyl in 1990 when I first started DJing. Absolutely loving the new stuff too. 30 something is a masterpiece.
What were you doing in between?
@@catethornton3270 jungle followed by drum and bass. only ever liked the heavier stuff eg badcompany. still listen to a bit of d+b. from time to time. Rene LaViche or Joe Ford et al… there are a few talented producers. went to drumsheds last month and felt old 😂
Am increasingly listening back to Orbital. Orb (loving Sedibus too btw). Aphex Twin etc. and looking for newer artists of that genre if you have any suggestions?
Despite all the shit in the world, it's a wonderful time to be alive. I follow you guys for 20 years now. Having the chance to watch a live gig from my couch, that's something. Thanks for all the great music. Thanks for still playing it.
Man, when 'Chime' kicked in I swear tears came into my eyes.
Loving that he still loves his tracks...and so he should. Superb.
...Exactly whit a' thought, revels in his tunes an' it mak's him happy. Whit a feelin'! :)
Paul is one uniquely talented dude!
WOW PAUL 😊
as a 51 year old raver who’s been playing your music for years and still playing, seems like yesterday we were giving it large ❤
Still giving it large aren’t you peace ☮️ Chris E love Durham branch 😊
Jesus I wish Paul Hartnoll was my uncle. My parents: "We're going to uncle Paul's on Saturday, he said he show you his new instruments. He has a new album coming out with Uncle Phil." Fucking excellent.
Oh Paul, that version of Halcyon... Even you know how brilliant that is. Thanks everso ❤
Impact, one of the best tracks ever! ❤
he's adorable. also my hero. also Orbital's in my top 5 favorite bands ever.& lastly, we move to his music exactly alike.
In my top one bands
Saw them do a live set at Cov Eclipse Nov 1990. Early days for them, they were literally dancing right next to us as their set up was pretty minimal back then. Sasha/Fabio and Grooverider all on the DJ bill!
The eclipse. Wow what sweatbox under a ring road. Get your ticket from moonshine records over the road beforehand. Memories
Them were the fucking days! 💊💊💊
@@robpagett2709 fucking mega-arena trance bollocks? I shit it.
Unbelievable fella!!!...I'm your age mate and I would probably have put on shades and a cap like many others would, shows your class and integrity that you played you set honest!
I can actually say also that the music you guys produced over the years has been a bit more than special, so THANKYOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.!!
I spent my teenage years in Manchester at the Hac,Konspiracy etc and then all over the country...Shelley's,Eclipse,Sequins...blah..blah
Anyway I want you to know,if your reading these comments, that your sets in the early nineties at Glasto and Manchester academy were about as good as ANY of my experiences, you and your brother are truly legendary in this incredible era of music!
I wish you all the best and a HUGE thankyou!!
Well in Paul.....it's a massive heartfelt description that I'm wi you on .still underated but as we know.....always THE BEST .IS THere a dance hall of fame? .....then these boys are A1
Been Shelley,s longton Stoke on Trent ,eclipse, was that Coventry, kinetic,,,,fibre optic ,,...sounds to me you knew the score my friend 🍓🍓❤️❤️😀😀
@raggedtrousered534 good question. Why isn't there an edm hall of fame?
1993. I'm at the beach in Croyde, in the sand dunes, watching the sun come up, I hear Belfast for the first time as I watch the waves. Euphoria and smiles . Still blowing me away day :)
Listened to all of it - I can’t thank you enough Paul. I was transported right back to 1990 - 30 years younger and boy I wish time travel existed.
Yeah and shout out to us lot in 2023!This keeps us going when we've been through shit. Thank you Orbital❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Certainly helped me get through 2020!
It's inspirational to see Paul go out of his mind playing some older Orbital tracks. You then know the tracks whete made with a great love for electronic music!! :)
Thnx, Paul (and Phil), for being one of the inspirations for me since 20 years ago.
DAWless Strolling brilliant
Sublime.. the definition of an entire generation’s music tastes but still, a bobbing head Dad dancer in loose denim and a “I don’t give a f**k” smock top. Paul, bruv and your good self are legends. Post modern classical for the 22nd century.
Orbital was created by the universe to provide the background score for eternity. So glad i exist in this timeline that i could experience them
Funny when UA-cam subtitles translated Greta saying green jalapenos! Brilliant version! He's still like that little boy under the stairs knocking out chime before going to the pub! Bloody amazing man!
It’s already feeling like a distant memory, the lockdown. So much hardship, so much worry and fear and pain in those difficult days. But the best of us, most of us, stepped up and did the right thing. Whether that was the incredible people on the front lines or just good people staying isolated and doing something, anything, to help. This is one of the highlights for me. I was alone in my flat, having a rave for one listening to this genius cranking out bangers from his back room. A pinprick of light in those dark days.
Nice one.
You know you wrote some good music when you dust it off and people are stoked to hear it.
Halcyon still gives me chills to this day. When I get to the mountains in colorado i just put that on repeat and feel like I'm in my happy place one every which way possible.
Great stuff… but what’s even more amazing and mind boggling is that he knows what the f#€k all those buttons and knobs do!😅
I love this guy I love this band I love these tracks.. takes me back to my late teens early 20's.. great mix set Paul 😎👍🌈
Amazing, he really loves this still after 40 years.
Halcyon is my favorite song. Thoroughly enjoyed. EAST WIND.
Well, I really read the title '@FAC 51 The _Halcyon_ House Party ...' :-)
Absolutely loved Orbital since I was lucky enough to see them at Glasto 1999, electronic music at its finest! And still going strong this is awesome 👍
He gets so excited when he starts the mashups at 34:30. I love it. Nice that he brought some of the live show stuff on as well.
I noticed that too haha you can see him sneaking away and getting very excited a couple times
My favourite live mix is this with Dr. Who theme.
I didn't comment at the time Mr H released this - Having had this blaring away at the time. Life was in melt down. Buuut.. Life getting back again together for all of us. And I still stream this today on my TV. My son ( yes he's a new fan -6 yrs old😄) loves it to. A big thanks from a 90's raver. Oh and yeh the boy is bouncing when he hears Hoo Hoo Ha Ha..........Love it. Thanks.
One of the best gigs I ever saw was orbital , last thing, Sunday night Glastonbury 04. It was perfect!
Where Is It Going? is pure Orbital mood the melodies are so them!!!
Glastonbury 94... I have tears in my eyes thinking back to that set. I never been to a gig since then that good.
Me too x
I saw this when it was live streamed a few weeks back. Simply awesome.
SAme. It was so good...Can't wait to go again
So it's not gonna actually be live then?
Genius 🎵🎧🎹🎛🎼🎶
East wind lads?
@@spaceytracey1237 Its a live set.....
One of the best electronic music acts in the world! Period. Sonic fruitiness!
My #1 band.
I have been wondering what it's like in your studio for like 25 years.
“Dad... I think someone has been in my studio.
A few of my presets have changed.”
(Sets up hidden camera).
PMSL good` un that pal
Yep. We 'Dads' were taking people on a wonderful psychedelic journey way back at the start of 1990.
Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.
Dont quite understand the 45 thumbs down. You wouldn't even be watching this if you didn't know who Orbital are. Strange.
They're probably Australian fans!!!!
@@jeztaylor6308 that made me laugh out loud, thanks!
Saw them at Leeds recently small venue absolutely rocked it to the ground and the memories will last forever. This is the icing on the cake.🙏
Leeds Uni Refectory? What a gig that was! Such a great atmosphere and who knew it would be one of the last big parties for a while. Hoping there will be more like that in the near future :D
Yep brilliant night one of the best gigs Ive been to. It will be repeated.✌
Reminding me of the massive rushes that the Hartnolls gave me in the 90's. Still got it!
Orbital : Because you can't have too many keyboards......👍
(Thanks for the music, mate.)🙏
I love orbital. If you hear how many different sounds are happening but orbital always manage to marry it up perfectly. Thanks orbital for not making feel old
It is great to see Paul keeping it real and he's so dedicated to the old school that he keeps having to run out of camera shot to put another 50 pence in the electricity meter!
Got to feed those power hungry syths. 😊
Awesome Paul, nice to see and hear you. It's like being in the same room again.
Massive respect Paul and Phil... your music got me through lockdown when things went tits up and I was hitting the booze harder than normal. This music taps into my soul. Love it!
Some 90s electronic acts are just plain unique. Orbital, MBM, FSOL, the Orb, Juno Reactor, etc. It was the Golden Age.
Can't get enough of orbiyal
This music is putting more of a smile on my face today than it did in the 90's.
i mean....... i love all the beats, the melodies and the samples but as a drummer in a band with 'real instruments' i always use to scoff at Dj's etc.
Now I'm dipping my toe in the water of EDM with the odd drum machine and a few analogue synths........i can only give a thousand apologies for that view, its genius!!! Also, big respect to Stephen Morris for taking the leap from the drums.
Great set by the way.
I actually appreciate their music a lot more now then i did in the 90's
To 'truly' appreciate the genius in this masterpiece - I require 200ug of LSD, a 1000 watt bass system and a very comfy chair to strap myself in to 👍
I miss the days. I would love to experience it one more time
Yep. Waiter, time machine for two and a dozen Mitsubishis, half a dozen green microdots, a gram of base and a quarter of AK47, please!
Not going to be as famous as you, Paul but I hope to be like this in 10 years in my early 50's!
Orbital best brothers in the music scene
Nice One Paul! Good to see ya fit & well.... but more importantly, still in the groove 🙂
Vision OnE from the last album is perfection!
Absolutely loving every minute of it
I can watch this for hours
Thank you Paul for giving us a Gig from home.
Sounds really great. Thanks so much for this!
Looking forward to this!👍
Thanks for this Orbital , , really great , , hope to see you live 2020 / 21
Went out and did the garden after this.
Love the reverse order of the samples on Halcyon
I'm still amazed that you guys make this music live at the spot.
Awesome show!
Congratulations🏆 thank you for this live🙏😊
What a joy to take in. Thank you.
Fantastic set. It is a lot harder than it looks and he has been doing this for 30 years.
Absolutely spectacular Mr. Hartnoll.. thanks so much frol Orlando, Florida!
Thank you for all the amazing tunes
brilliant. thanks Orbital.
GOD at work, thanks for making Halcyon!
This set is absolutely incredible. It had me encapsulated from first to last second! Thanks Paul!

Absolutely awesome set thank you!
59 minutes of bliss - thank you.
I’m so glad this is here! I only just thought to look... der. Loved this so much, particularly because I can’t come and see you - thank you!
Absolutely phenomenal.
So much love this Mate. Thank you for sharing..
Opens with one of my favourite Orbital tracks. What a treat to wake up to.
LOVE IT! Sometimes I have trouble focusing on Fridays before holiday weekends, but I put this on loop and blasted it while working the whole afternoon and jammed out and got some stuff DONE!
This was done on my birthday, what a wonderful gift from Orbital! Thanks for helping to keep us sane :-)
Wowwww....this makes me happy....Bravo!!! Much love and respect!
LIOve pulsing pushing progressive sound exploration... I never get tired of revisiting the newest versions of these featured classics...Please never stop doing it... Not enough of this in the world...thank you
THANK YOU!
This is the fifth time I have watched this, gotta love your bopping Paul :)
Awesome work
I simply love this BAND! It's my kind of Electronica BAND. So old school, such a good sound, so happy to hear the old good TB303 :), so much good taste! Paul and Phil thank you the music! :)
I remember your live act from 1994 on MTV!! I still have it recorded on a VHS tape
OMG, this took me straight back to those Halcyon days, just awesome :-D
Thanks, that was damn good!
I've been listening to it for 20 years and I still love it.
Orbital and Underworld are the best electronic acts in the world
Special shouts to Lionrock Leftfield and Finitribe too
Finitribe now Finiflex soooo sadly under appreciated, a fantastic Scottish electronic secret ❤
Ok, I am waiting in line! With 1.5m distance of course.
2 metres dude! :O
He's dead now. RIP Simply Vibrations
People just aren't taking it seriously, this is serious
Thank you for this ❤️🔥❤️ you just made my day, most likely my week lol... love the untitled song, fantastic stuff
