Wiring inside the rear fender is vulnerable. Oversized tyres, heavy compression of the suspension and serious road defects can dislodge the harness, it will rub through in no time flat.
Good point! Checking your wires and connectors should be part of your routine. Routing the wiring more securely or adding protective shielding could help prevent damage from rough roads and suspension movement as well. Thank you for commenting! 😎👍 MB

I’d suggest NOT putting dielectric grease on the actual pins/ contacts of plugs. It’s an insulator! Put dielectric grease around the rubber seals and where the plugs meet to keep moisture out.
Yes, what you state is the "proper" way to do it...the by the book way, and really how dielectric grease is designed to be used. I have found that applying it to the actual connectors works very well for me. Out of thousands of times I have used it on the actual connections, I have Never had an issue. I believe that is because as I push the connectors back together it "scrapes", or relocates, the majority of the grease to the most vulnerable spots at the base of the male or female connection points. That said, the way you describe is the "proper way" and quite probably more than sufficient. KP

I just replaced my drive belt at 96k miles. Nothing was wrong with it but since I was in there it seamed like a good idea.
