    Looks very nice. Don't quite understand why separately powered fans and 'realistic' glazing are deluxe items. Glazing should be accurate as standard and Hornby were putting separately motored fans on their Electrotren ALCos 14 years ago.

      The additional processes to produce the tinted glazing add additional cost to making the models. If they could have included it on lower cost models they would have

    I've got 4 x Bachmann 37s and love them - for the prices I paid of around £120. As nice as they look I probably won't go for an Accurascale at £170, but sorry guys I certainly won't be going for the upgraded Bachmann at a shop price of £210.

      Exactly they are simply not worth the extra money. The class 47 is a prime example which I felt fell short on quality for the money also. I am sure the class 37 will be the same way. I am not saying Bachman models are good but I fell 150.00 Pound range is the right price point. That way we can build fleets of them.

    With the Accurascale Class 37 being a great model and priced reasonably. If you are to win customers over. You will need to price your models fairly because if not, then more people will vouch for the Accurascale model. Personally I would have liked to have seen a OO gauge Class 319. Something that Bachmann are overlooking at the month. I am sure it would sell well if the N scale model is anything to go by, you have the CAD's and the design team, so there is nothing stopping you from plugging the gap on the OO gauge market. Good luck with the Class 37 model.

    Bachmann vs Accurascale.........should be fun ! We are now officially spoilt for 37s which cant be bad, just a small shame they couldn't use etched grills on all the grills

    • @jameswells6003
      @jameswells6003 2 роки тому

      You don't need etched grilles everywhere, for most body side grilles, they'd end up over scale and less convincing.

      The RRP for the DCC-ready version is £244.99 (compared to £169.99 for Accurascale's yet-to-be-released Class 37). That's a £75 difference... BUT, there are two things to take into account:
      1) After retailer discounts, the Bachmann model is £208.20 - whereas you don't get any retailer discounts for the Accurascale version.
      2) Accurascale's price was set in late 2019 - before COVID and the associated supply chain crisis + increases in costs. They're honouring the original RRP at the moment (which is great of them), but I really don't think it'll be sustainable for them in the long term. I wouldn't be surprised if they increase their RRP to, say, £199.99.
      Of course #2 is just me speculating, but if it does happen (which I suspect it will sooner or later), then the two models will be within £10 of each other.

    • @StormmyStormmy
      @StormmyStormmy 2 роки тому +2

      @@christopherstokes9393 This is a great model, the price is high compared to the accurascale class 55, you would sell a lot more if the price was competitive, I’d like to see a network rail model, are you going to do a new class 55? Why don’t you ask railway enthusiasts what price they would pay for your new models? You would sell a lot more if it was priced right.

    Very nice i look forward to it. However I do feel like Bachmann is mainly focusing on just diesel/electric retooling projects as of late.
    Many of the Steam engines within your range that you are charging a lot of money for are in need of retooling projects like this but the only one I'm aware of is the V2 class which I do not think Bachmann put as mush effort into as their diesel loco's.
    Keep up the good work but just remember about some of the other products within your range that need similar treatment as some havent seen any upgrades for over 20 years a this point the A1 for example has only seen new liveries that's it.

    • @nitonion7481
      @nitonion7481 2 роки тому

      Are steam locos slightly diminishing in interest, given the age you now have to be to remember them actually in service ? Just a thought…..

    • @busterdragon1
      @busterdragon1 2 роки тому

      @@nitonion7481 you don't to be old to like steam loco's thus isn't really relevant I'm still in my 20s and steam loco's are my main interest, also most of the diesels announced recently that are getting retooled projects are ones not in service anymore thus by your own definition would have to be old to be interested in them.
      also interest in steam loco's doesn't have an age bracket. I like early diesel designs all i was pointing out is Bachmann are neglecting some of the products in their range which a lot of them are steam loco's.

    • @nitonion7481
      @nitonion7481 2 роки тому

      @@busterdragon1 please don’t think I was dissing your comment, I wasn’t in the slightest, your point I’m sure is valid and justified. My question was merely an observational one. I accept many people interested in steam are not necessarily old. However what is true, is that interests shift, and as a very crude general rule, people GENERALLY are interested in the eras that they grew up with this provoking their childhood memories. I’m not necessarily referring to model railways but any hobby that involves nostalgia. Classic cars, trucks and tractors for example have all seen big price increases in items from the 80’s and 90’s, whilst the real old stuff is starting to drop in value, as the people who could get all misty eyed over them are sadly no longer with us.
      Just a question but I wonder how many 37’s or 47’s sell vs some of the best selling steam?
      Quite open to be proven wrong, and like I said not criticising your comment at all. Just wondering where the big bucks are to be made by the likes of Bachmann etc. cheers

      Aye Fair enough.
      Apologies if I sounded too defensive.
      just stressed lately didn't mean to take it out on yourself or anyone.
      I do get that people have different interests its just sad to see good potential wasted which I believe Bachmann are doing with their steam loco's in particular but it can apply to some of their wagons, coaches and diesel loco's as well.
      Either way I hope you'll have yourself a good day.
