  • I'm a computer engineer and researcher with experience as a software developer at companies like Mediatek, Amazon, and Directi. A Gold Medalist in MTech (CSE) from IIIT Hyderabad and earned my PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore.
I'm passionate about fitness, especially explosive, high-intensity CrossFit workouts. I also have a deep love for theatre acting and occasionally write content and poetry. I'm always excited to do something impactful and live a spontaneous, haphazard life, managing to fulfill my commitments along the way.

Only 0.01% of those leaving India are considered part of the "brain drain." The remaining 99.9% leave either to show off, due to family wealth, or because they found no opportunities here. In reality, the quality of researchers in IISc and top IITs is comparable to that of researchers who go abroad from India.

Master , please share your thoughts regarding this
"We often take for granted the joy of being surrounded by our loved ones, friends, cousins, and family members until we're separated from them, such as when we move abroad. It's only when we no longer have them nearby that we realize how much we miss them and appreciate the time we had together."

True. Life isn't just about running behind ambitions. Better opportunities will always come as long as one is capable. We have to take a call, whether we want to lose our precious time of on earth staying away from everyone or not.

I didn't. As I mentioned even then moving out permanently is a loss. Additionally, people don't understand that they lose more in return. The living standard is different for people who can't earn enough in India. Any one earning at a software developer level gets a better life in India than abroad due to much more flexibility and availability of services that aren't available anywhere outside India. Other than minor household services you get cheaper and better medical facilities in India while staying in your place close to family. You can't afford your own house abroad in 3 ~4 years. While in India one already has their own houses and can purchase one in this much time. Also, well educated people these days earn more in India than abroad and they have to spend much much lesser if they choose to stay in India.

You are only looking at the materialistic and logical things and ignoring emotional and social aspects. And remember humans aren't logical species they are social creatures.

Didn't expect the interesting and well thought comments. Eventually it is always a trade off which also depends on one's capability. I know people who are earning higher in India than their counterparts outside while enjoying the family time. It will boil down to what the individual is strong in and what are his or her preferences. We all know the compromises one has to make to move out of India.
