I'm a computer engineer and researcher with experience as a software developer at Mediatek, Amazon, and Directi. A Gold Medalist in MTech (CSE) from IIIT Hyderabad and earned my PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore.
Beyond tech, I'm passionate about fitness, especially explosive, high-intensity, CrossFit workouts. I also have a love for theatre acting and occasionally write content and poetry. I live a spontaneous, haphazard life, while staying committed to my goals.

Can an average student reach iisc level?
I don't exactly know what average means. As per me everyone is same. Only difference is in the mindset and will to put honest effort. Rest depends on opportunities, they come sooner or later.
@TheLoneSoul619 I love your positivity, actually have received an opportunity to appear for PhD interview at CSA and CPS on 19 nov, just scared/have self doubt if one w/o any great academic background will be able to make it? Anyways I will give my best, thanks for these videos.

Hello sir 🙋 I graduated with a BSc in Chemistry (3-year degree), and I am interested in applying for the CDS program at IISc. I would like to know if my current educational background makes me eligible for the CDS program. If not, could you please provide guidance on the additional qualifications or steps I should take in order to become eligible for admission to this program ?

Great video ❤
There are infinite number of lifestyle vloggers. Make serious vlog about your research. There is lesser content related to hardcore research on YT. (I have a very negative opinion about researchers of any kind, from India, Indian researchers MOSTLY write useless research papers by copying content from other research papers.)
I could write a lengthy essay to respond, but before I invest my time, let me ask a few questions to determine if it's worth the effort: 1. Why do foundational courses like ua-cam.com/video/99A-jF14LHg/v-deo.html, which are essential to understanding hardcore research, struggle to attract viewers? 2. Do you think it’s more valuable for me to spend time creating research videos that only get 10-15 views and people skip them within a few seconds, or continue making content that has already motivated people to get into top institutions? 3. Can you provide an example of a research paper from India that has been copied? 4. Do you believe international venues, that receive submissions from researchers worldwide, would accept a plagiarized work? 5. Do you think Indian institutions like IISc have earned a perfect score and have been ranked the world’s number one research institute for several years by producing copied research? 6. Are the researchers and faculties who collaborate with Indian researchers and visit Indian institutes to find good candidates making a mistake?
Do you listen to Aacharya Prashant?
I get very less time to listen to anyone unless it is something I am looking for but have seen the videos here and there.
@@TheLoneSoul619 btw between your PhD, poetry, acting, and staying in beast mode at the gym, I’m starting to think you’re secretly auditioning for a Marvel movie. 😂 But amidst all the cool stuff you're doing, I wanted to suggest something that might shake things up for you in a different way: Aacharya Prashant’s work on Vedanta philosophy. It’s not just about spiritual mumbo-jumbo-it’s more like life wisdom for people who already have too many tabs open in their brain (sound familiar? 😜). It might give you a fresh lens to view everything you're juggling, and who knows, maybe you’ll find some philosophical fuel for your next poem or role! Anyway, just a thought. Take it easy (if that’s even possible for you)!
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ve been fortunate to explore all these things naturally. Years ago, I accepted the world as it is and decided to flow with it. For someone like me, self-exploration through my own experiences and failures works best. I don’t set goals for anything I do. I left high-paying jobs because they didn’t bring me joy. My PhD happened only because I enjoyed it-if I hadn’t, I would have quit that too. Acting is my way of truly living in the present and experiencing a spiritual journey by stepping into another character’s life. I never started it with any big ambitions, which is why I’ve always declined paid acting work so far. Maybe in the future, I’ll pursue it as a career, but for now, my main focus is research. Fitness, poetry, and UA-cam have followed a similar path. Fitness, specifically, comes naturally to me, and over the years, I’ve gone through different routines and multiple transformations. At one point, I maintained 7% body fat with a 40 bpm resting heart rate while balancing my academic commitments. I don’t train for aesthetics; I love the intensity and aggression in the workout. I moved away from slow, heavy lifts and bodybuilding-style routines long ago because my workouts have evolved into something much more intense and instinctive. Now, here’s something I truly want to highlight. Having engaged in physical, artistic, and academic pursuits at a high level, I can say without hesitation that academics, especially earning a PhD, is the most difficult. While the risks in sports or art are different, the sheer mental grind of academics, without the inherent pleasure you get from other fields, is unmatched. Earning a PhD is 1000 times harder than excelling in athletics or art. A Fields Medal or Turing Award is on a level that simply can’t be compared with other achievements. In academics, the sacrifices are enormous, often with little recognition-many dedicate a decade to research, representing India at conferences, and yet go unnoticed. It's a hard, long journey with far fewer rewards than other paths.
@@TheLoneSoul619 Man, your reply was a whole journey in itself It's so refreshing to hear someone who’s truly flowing with life without the need for rigid goals. Honestly, your approach sounds like a Zen master who's turned his life into an art form whether it's in fitness, acting, or research. I totally get where you’re coming from-self-exploration through experiences is one of the purest ways to grow. The way you live in the moment, especially through acting, sounds like something Vedanta might resonate with more than I initially thought. Aacharya Prashant often talks about that very acceptance and flowing with life, so in a way, you’re already living some of those ideas, just in your own unique way. I gotta say, your take on the PhD grind really hit home. The dedication it takes to push through years of research without the immediate reward or recognition that comes with other fields,it’s a whole different kind of discipline. Mad respect for the way you’ve embraced that challenge. It sounds like it’s not just a career for you but a deep intellectual and spiritual journey in itself. Anyway, thanks for sharing your thoughts, and I guess Vedanta might just add some new language to what you're already living and breathing
just curious .. what are you adding in oats for flavour

Nice blog. Will you available at IISc Immunocon 2024 conference.?

No, I’m currently pursuing only PhD. PhD students often need to travel abroad for research, if required. The scholarship is quite sufficient to cover expenses. Currently, it amounts to around 37,000 to 42,000 after two years, and students spend very little on food and accommodation if they are staying in a hostel.
@@TheLoneSoul619 thankss 🙌
Bhai Video ka title to aise daal dete ho jaise pata nahi kya special bata doge but main baat sirf 2 second ki boli aur phir baaki cheeze dikhayi jiske koi mtlb nahi tha video ke title se IISc jaise institute main padhne ke baad bhi aise harkate .. clickbaiting weghera itne hi hai to isee ache vlog bana lo na aadmi expect hi nahi karega aise koi sahi cheez tumhare channel se … aise title kyun dalte ho baaki jaise marzi internet pe sab kabad bhar rahe hai aap bhi bhariye
First, let's talk specifics. The video is 5 minutes long, with 3 minutes dedicated to research life, something one can't find and 1 minute addressing the question. That’s 20% of the video, making it highly efficient. Second, my channel features a mix of content from my life, not solely centered around education. The internet is inundated with 'information-only' videos that I often find repetitive and unengaging. Instead, I share relevant aspects of my career and personal interests, like fitness, without rehashing the same ideas. Clickbait often buries or omits the real content altogether, which isn’t my approach. There’s no clickbait here; I simply don’t have time for that. As the title suggests, this is a vlog and vlogs include a variety of activities, with research being a significant part of my day. I strive to create a vlog that adds value-combining insightful information with engaging content. Moreover, the content fits my schedule and is preferable to not sharing anything at all. As a student at IISc, it’s challenging to find time to plan and record videos. However, capturing moments while I work and sharing useful information along the way makes it manageable. If the content doesn’t resonate with you, that’s perfectly okay; it sometimes takes time to find what connects with us. I don’t post to chase views or subscribers; I post what I enjoy, and if others find value in it, that’s great. If someone has a question, I make sure to respond because I feel responsible to help when I can. Rather than just explaining things, I show the real day-to-day life of a researcher, which I believe offers more genuine insight. Many viewers have found clarity and motivation from these authentic videos, with some even gaining admission to IISc or IIT-not because of flashy content, but because they connected with something real. That’s always been my goal-not gaining random subscribers, which is easy enough in today’s online world. I aim to offer something genuine, not content driven by views. For those who don’t connect with the content, that’s perfectly fine-they’re free to skip or move on. I prefer having viewers who resonate with me as a person, not just the content. Even if that’s just a few hundred people, it’s worth it to me.
@@TheLoneSoul619 I agree. I find your videos really comfortable to watch unlike those who are shouting and throwing too much information on my face. I spent hours watching them but had no impact. They talk too much other than the ground-level things. The moment I see your video, I click, because they are too soothing and motivating along with very genuine information. It feels like watching someone very relatable. My consistency and efforts have improved after watching how dedicated and disciplined, yet relaxed you are in real life.
@@TheLoneSoul619 ek tu mujhe ye baat nahi samaz aati hai ki jara sa negative feedback do kisi creator ko toh wo trigger ho jata hai ki mat dekho meri video aage bado ..kaafi ajeeb baat hai ye mere hisab se … Aur rahi baat mere comment ke aapki pichli videos is tarah ki nahi thee isliye maine point out kiya aur mere ko koi dikkat nahi hai aapko jaise videos banani pasand hai aap bilkul bana sakte hai .. main baat ye hai ki aap aise catchy title daal hi kyun rahe ho aap normal vlog likhe video bana lijiye usme info bhi de dijiye jo aapko pasand karte hai wo toh tabhi dekh lega aapki videos.. aur aap bol rahe hai ki net pe bahot info padi hai log sirf isee bare main baat kar rahe hain to wo baat galat hai mostly log kisi kaam ki information nahi dete only views etc cheeze ke liye video banate hai usme se ek aadmi agar acche college se aata hai to hamme usee dekhne ka mann karte hai ki wo koi valuable information bata de bcz main ek tier 3 college se hoon yahan mostly log govt job weghere ki taiyaari karte hai teachers bhi motivated nahi aage bacho ko kuch guide karne ke liye .. toh hame to info wali channel dekhne main aapke time use karenge na ..
Nothing about this is triggering. I respond to both positive and negative comments with the same level of detail, if needed. I often spend 2-3 hours discussing things in person because I consider it my responsibility. However, it’s important to understand what real feedback looks like. Words like 'harkaten,' 'kabaad,' or 'clickbait' don’t belong in constructive criticism. I tend to ignore such comments when I’m busy, as they usually come from people who’ve already made up their minds and aren’t seeking clarification. For example, a comment like, 'From the title, I expected a detailed discussion on a specific topic, but it was a vlog. Could you share more, or maybe create a video on it when you have time?' expresses the same concern politely. Anyone would be happy to respond to that. We need to stop judging and jumping to conclusions so quickly. In my previous response, I clarified the content. I’m not a typical creator who makes content just to chase subscribers. Titles like 'Truth About Placements,' 'How to Get Admission,' 'Corporate Salaries,' 'How to Grow Your Biceps,' or 'Which Supplements to Take' are designed to attract views, and UA-cam is flooded with such videos. That’s not my aim. Showing the real life of a PhD student has value for many people. The title reflects the main point of the video, and if someone isn’t interested in parts of the content, they can skip them. If they have further questions, they always ask in the comments. I will create focused content on certain topics, but that depends on my time and availability. Sharing insights while I’m working helps me save time. People always reach out for more information if needed. If there’s a difference in interest-whether between partners, a student and teacher, or a creator and viewer-parting ways is fine. It saves time for everyone, and there’s nothing negative about it. What someone considers 'kabaad' holds real value for others. Changing it would deprive those who find meaning in it. If we were selling a product, like a movie, we would have a responsibility to please customers because of the financial element involved. But here, we aren’t selling anything. If someone likes the content, that’s great; if not, that’s fine too. The same goes for many things in life. People often get outraged over movies they don’t like, when they could simply choose not to watch them-just like many great films that go unnoticed.

Where i have got to know about poor work life balance... I don't think i will get to travel to my hometown frequently from Bangalore/delhi/Hyderabad office. This is the only thing holding me back from going into IT sector. What's your suggest for me ? I think govt. Sector IT jobs / Other govt. Jobs / or a career in academics after PhD will allow me to spend more time with my aging parents Please give me suggestions sir 🙏
It all depends on you. Any commitment won't allow frequent home visits anyway. For PhD also, one has to work consistently without lot of breaks. All are same with respect to that.
bhaiya are there very less academics job in india after phd ? is it really a concern ?? because you know research is good but we should also have some source of income after phd .. kindly light this area ))
Absolutely not. One can get a job immediately after PhD without even trying in both industry and academics as long as the PhD is good. Getting the job of choice is not easy say, if someone wants to get a faculty position at IITs.

How much average monthly salary is offered to M Des Textile Design from NID Ahmedabad students?
No idea about that.
Bakchodi nahi rukni chahiye 😂
Can u please explain about interesting research areas, and the toughest one
There is nothing like the toughest one. All fields come with their own difficulties and benefits. Interesting depends on candidate. Some people like theoretical side such as algorithms, cryptography, graph theory, quantum computing, some like systems such as compilers, os, databases, some like the ML side either theory or applications. Some choose depending on opportunities. ML is popular since it has lot of opportunities and scope. One has to read and explore gradually to find his or her interest.
Hi, I am an SDE at Amazon. Could you please compare the pressure in PhD vs Amazon life? I am asking cause I always wanted to persue a PhD but as not able to handle Amazon pressure, I doubt I ll be able to handle PhD let alone IISc
Amazon isn’t the best place to draw a comparison. The pressure there often stems from factors unrelated to the actual work-things like unclear goals, lack of motivation, or tasks that feel disconnected from your personal growth. In contrast, a PhD, especially at a place like IISc, is about tackling meaningful problems you care about. If you’ve cracked Amazon, you’re definitely capable of handling a PhD. The key difference is patience and consistent effort, which are much easier when you're genuinely motivated by your research. Choosing the right area and advisor can make the PhD journey much less stressful. Plus, IISc's environment is a huge bonus: great campus life, weather, food, and the flexibility to pursue other interests. With smart time management, you can even carve out space for creativity, as you can see in my videos.
Is it a good choice to directly do a phd in cse from btech with no research and industrial experience ? Plss reply
If you are sure that you want to pursue PhD in future then it is better go direct. But if one lacks in capability to get a PhD opportunity of choice then it's better to work on improvement for sometime because PhD is long commitment. There shouldn't be a big compromise in terms of preference.

Bhai tittle kuch or, content is different
It's not. Research doesn't end at work. For a researcher, every activity in a day has a research component and detailing. I hope you can notice that now. 🙂
Sir , Mere eyes thode weak he , Doctors ne bhi bola thik nahi ho sakta Mai jyada time tak ( not more than 1/2 hour ) laptop par coding nahi kar paata ( reading from laptop is difficult , but it's not difficult to watch lectures / online meet) Please aap mujhe suggest kariye konse corporate IT roles keliye mai fit ho sakta hun 🙏
1. Start extremely healthy diet and daily workouts. Doctors are also human and can be wrong. 2. Use of laptop is almost everywhere these days. Look for non-coding profiles, use printouts to read. 3. Research that doesn't require coding can be pursued. Research papers can be read using hard copies. Probably the theoretical research such as pure math etc.
@@TheLoneSoul619 thank you sir , What i found that roles like business analyst in corporate companies require less reading time in laptop more of meetings / stake holder management etc. I'm targeting for that job role Am I going in right direction sir ?
Everyone has to do some reading such as reports and documents etc.
@@TheLoneSoul619 okay sir , I'm comfortable infront of laptop for 1 or 2 hours.... I understand what you are saying , Research career in therotical computer science / algorithm would be a decent idea ?
Yes.
hope you are doing well There are moments in life where we all feel sad but the important thing is to believe in self Also how could you be alone , we are with you every time
That's a performance. A simple solo act. 🙂

Bhaiya mai class 12 th me hu ...aur iit ki tayari kr rha hu....aur mujhe physics me bhut interest h ...mai chahta hu mai iisc me physic se bsc karu ....just i wanna know the placement senario of bsc in iisc
After BSc, people go for masters and PhD to pursue research further. They end up in academics, their own start ups or some corporate job that aligns with their interest. Just with BSc, you may not get some great job since people just study the basics in undergrad. At IISc, companies dominantly hire MTech people or if some PhD wants to go for placement. I have seen some Math guys going for jobs after BS but most pursue direct PhDs after undergrad.
@@TheLoneSoul619 thank u bhaiya ...
the only channel where i must comment on every video (maintaining my comment streak !😅)
Stay happy, work hard and do great in life. 🙂
There is a great saying that “motion controls your emotion and vice versa”. If we go by this saying, then we can conclude that there is connection between pressure and your brain! When you know that you finally have access to toilet, it sends signal to the muscle that holds your bowel. 😅
😄
At first glance, I thought you dropped phd… lol Great vlog ❤
😄
As usual, great vlog ❤
Glad you enjoyed! Stay happy, work hard and do great in life. 🙂
Mera ghar pohochne ke baad pressure gir jata hai

Research karne aaye the na IISC me kitna LPA package laga bhai aapka
I rejected job offers that were ready to pay desired salary. People don't join research field for packages. That becomes a small thing in life after attaining the knowledge and capability. Every good Researcher from IISc is worth crores but they don't choose salaries and most of them don't sit in placements. There is no point of working as a labour after getting a PhD degree. People proceed further in research in their own way. Some go for post-docs, some start their start ups, some go for faculty positions, some go for some research position in some organisation. People aren't worried about the salary part because that comes automatically. So asking packages after a PhD doesn't make sense since they don't work for salaries.
@@TheLoneSoul619are the salaries in research or faculty positions after phd satisfactory generally?
Satisfaction always depends on your goal. A person with PhD is ofcourse more capable. S/he chooses to reject the unsatisfactory jobs even if they pay high. Earning money is not difficult for them. They choose faculty positions not for salary but because they enjoy teaching, research and to be thw owner of their life. And salaries of course are satisfactory to have a good quality life along with other advantages. As I mentioned earlier money is not at all a concern after earning a good PhD. People go for PhD for different reasons. The most important is to come out of corporate slavery. Even after having good masters degree, people have job insecurity. A person with PhD doesn't have that because s/he can get a good job anytime.
Please record your face from front coz we use to see people talking form front not from below neck It will be more enjoyable. and great vlog I love itr
Idk if my comments are getting deleted automatically. Anyways, love your videos. I would be grateful if you cld share your opinion on IIS M.Tech Research vs IIITH MS with my final goal being deep diving into research amd gunning for the best P.Hd. I could get into . Would also love to connect on LinkedIn.
If research and PhD then IISc.
