Brushos are great. I like the black colour because it contain so many different colours with it. And I like the random-ness of them. It makes me feel like I'm a great artist lol!!!
+Poppy Fields Hi, thanks for watching. Yes the black is lovely, have you tried the grey? It separates in a similar way with lots of subtle tones. Glad you are enjoying using brusho, they are great fun ☺
I've honestly never heard of Brusho before... Almost seems like 'powdered water colours' ... I'm going to have to get some and try it out! Thank you for the instruction. :)
Thanks for watching Amanda. The three primaries are a good place to start. Ultramarine is a nice blue, the Lemon is a good yellow and I like Alizarin red. I would also highly recommend the Grey. Enjoy your painting 🙂🎨
Hi Michelle, thanks for watching. I haven't tried that myself. However as both pva and brusho are water soluble that should work well. Maybe you could use it as a thinly coloured glaze too.
Thanks for watching. No I haven't tried that. I did make a palette from brusho using the thickener, creating a mix of brusho and thickener and leaving it to dry. However when I travel I like to take my watercolour paints. Have fun with your brusho experiments 🎨☺
Hi Griselda, thanks for watching. That's a difficult question as we all have our own favourite colours. However I would recommend the three primaries of blue, yellow and red. I especially like the Ultramarine blue and the Sunburst Lemon. I would also get either black or grey as they are beautiful when the colours separate. I don't particularly like the Violet, it us quite dull. Hope that helps, enjoy your brusho ☺🎨
Thank you for this helpful video. May I ask if you've tried making & keeping a palette of mixed colors of the Brushos? If so, I'd appreciate any thoughts or suggestions on that. Wishing you a lovely day. :o)
Hi, thanks for watching ☺ I did have a go at making a palette using the thickener in this video ua-cam.com/video/yVPqbGqhRYY/v-deo.html However, I don't really use it as I tend to sprinkle my brushos rather than painting with them. The palette worked Ok, but I think more powder was needed in the initial mix to make the colours stronger.
Cally... This is a great tutorial... "Thank YOU" for sharing this... I need to ask you this before I invest in the Brusho ... What is the difference between this and regular watercolor? .... From what I see the Brusho is intense colors... If you had your preference, of watercolors paints... would you just use Brusho? I just feel it has more depth than plain watercolors... I Paint Watercolor paintings and Greeting Cards... so these questions are for business purposes rather than just "Painting" around... ;) ... again, "Thank you" for your great tutorial... ;)
+Judi Christopher The big difference is the way that the pigments separate with the brushos into different colours. They are bright, but they are also a dye so don't lift off the paper like watercolours do. I use Artist quality watercolours which are true to their colours when you replace them, with brushos the same colours aren't always a match. So it really depends on the style of the cards, if you want them to be subtle or realistic I would stick to watercolour. However if you want them to be bright, imaginary or cartoon like you could try some brusho. If you don't want to invest in a whole set to begin with, you can buy individual pots. I hope that helps. Many thanks for watching ☺
Lol ! I'm Cathy but use my boyfriends UA-cam as I don't have an account. My mom is originally from Blackburn but immigrated in 1956 to Canada so that's where I was born and raised. Most of my relatives still live in Lancashire but outside Blackburn. I have spent a lot of time in Lancashire and I just love the people and the countryside. I'm 52 years old and in my teens and twenties I had an absolute ball partying around Blackburn and Accrington. Lol
Love this!
Spray bottle! Genius! I never thought of that. Thank you 😊
Just bought brush - thank you for explaining how to use it
+Marigold Odkin Thanks for watching Marigold, have fun with your brusho 😀
Love using brusho in my artwork

Thanks for replying. I haven't . . . I didn't even know that I had grey!!! I will definitely try it now. Thanks.
Enjoy :)

Thanks for watching. It is a dye and very different to watercolour to work with, but lots of fun! 🙂
I want to try these. Should I get just red, yellow, aand blue?

Interesting video, someone suggested mixing brusho with pva
Hi Michelle, thanks for watching. I haven't tried that myself. However as both pva and brusho are water soluble that should work well. Maybe you could use it as a thinly coloured glaze too.
Tku
have you used brushos to impregnate watercolour paper to make a travel pallette? am doing some trials and it seems to work x

What colours do you recommend to start with? You seem to have quite a few in your box there.

Thank---I had no idea there was a thickener! Off to watch your linked video. :o)
Are you using watercolour card?
Hi Albert, thanks for watching. I use watercolour paper for Brusho. I prefer a hot pressed paper. I sometimes also use mixed media paper.
Cally Lawson thanks

"Thank YOU" ... this information helped a lot... ;)
+Judi Christopher You're welcome ☺
Are you a Lancashire lass? 🤗
Yes, well guessed! I live on Lancashire / Cumbria border 🙂
