Listening to this and similar videos (esp SBJ, Haueter, Chewjitsu, and others) is the best thing in between recovering from BJJ rolling. Love it, and learn lots of subtitles while enjoying the convo itself! This one in particular
Haueter was my first Jiu Jitsu teacher ages ago, when he was teaching at Inosanto Academy. He awarded me my blue belt not long before he left Inosanto's. Unfortunately i never saw or kept in touch with him after that. Didn't realize at the time how fortunate I was to get my start under a teacher like him. Fast forward to today, I find myself still learning from him via his interviews, etc on youtube. I'd love to train with him again sometime. Wish I knew someone who could get me an invitation to Combat Base haha.
Recording with the camera mic? Would appreciate better sound quality if that's possible. It's simultaneously echoy and tiny from Mat's end, I have to strain to hear him.
Ah, well I didn't know that's what Haueter is like on an average day. I just felt like Matt was asking fair questions but then got shutdown (for no real reason from my perspective) in favor of an answer that didn't feel...satisfying, I guess is the word I'm looking for? Usually when Matt's involved in something i leave feeling like I've learned something or gained some sort of insight, just didn't feel like that this time around.

Mohseen Lala - Adapt and evolve.
I can listen to Coach Haueter for days on end. He could be reading a phone book and I’d still learn something and be entertained.
Environment stronger than will, yes, BUT, the people you train with, the company you keep, is stronger than environment.
Thank you for podcast. sbguniversity.com doesn't open
Was Chris Haueter in a bad mood? Lots of "I'm not going to answer that" and the whole conversation didn't really go anywhere.
