    I love shoes, too, but they must be comfortable and breathable genuine leather. I tend to keep them forever, it’s possible if I don’t buy super-trendy styles. I look for modern, but classic styles, instead. I love footwear with about a 2-inch to 2.75-inch block heel for everyday. I’ve never been able to wear pointed toes or high heels (3-inch or taller). I’ve never liked thin, stiletto heels and I’ve haven’t seen even a single women wear them here (San Francisco) since the 90s and then, only a very few.

      Agree about the leather.

      Genuine leather isn’t usually a good kind of leather. Look for full grain leather shoes and for leather lining. If the lining is synthetic, they won’t be breathable.

    I'd be thrilled to find well-fitting Oxfords. I had a pair when I was a teen that I wore for several years. I also had a great pair of cowboy boots. I find it very hard to find shoes that fit me well and are comfortable, and shopping choices near me aren't great. But good to know 2 of my favorites are stylish right now.

    Good morning,
    Always a cowboy or combat shoe has always been part of my vibe.
    Maryjanes, they need to be unique, otherwise it’s a hard NO,
    Wedges are always a go to.
    Metallic options are awesome, most are out of budget, at least the ones I like.
    Love loafers any and all, the look with something more feminine.
    Thanks for the video ❤

    Shoes are one of my passions. I love classic styles but definitely find room in my wardrobe for trendy pieces that stand the test of time. I love combat boots, they just seem to stay on trend from season to season. Love my sneakers, I lean into my Sambas and J Crew styles. Love my Mary Janes, brogues and oxfords. As always, appreciate your content!!

    I have been wearing denim on denim for years and have had several denim shoes, slides, sandals, etc. Denim shoes are practical. They wear well and I am rough on my shoes.

    Shoes glorious shoes, some say I have to many.......shoes glorious shoes, I'm dying to have more. I have not gotten into the realm of metallic cowboy boots but if I find the right affordable and style, I will add them to the family. Getting older feet tend to swell so hopefully my feet are able to still get into my 8.5. Brogues/oxford shoes/loafer styles were my favorite for when I used to go into the office, some of them had heels but I have flatter versions, even a sliver pair. I still have my work wear items and just got to learn to adapt to wearing them for my more casual lifestyle. Thanks for sharing and blessings to you and all in the days to come.

    I’m struggling to get into the loafer trend as it takes me back to my last year of high school in 1995! Chunky loafers were huge back then. I’ve opted for a white wedge style loafer and I find this easier to style and less reminiscent of the 90s 😇

    When chunky loafers came out last year (?) I was excited and thought for sure I would buy a pair. Then I went shopping and the look of them seemed so off to me. Not the chunky but the loafer itself. I hated the buckle adornments on them and the shape seemed so grandmotherly to me. Maybe its my age (62) but I could not even bring myself to try a pair on, the look seemed sooo not chic or modern in their aesthetic. I know they are, but I couldn't get past my negativity towards them. I was actually quite disappointed in my dislike of them.

    Lovely video! I don't do combat boots, but I did score a beautiful mule with a lug sole and an almond toe shape the other day, that I really like. (looks like a boot under pants). Also I have always loved kitten heels, (pointy but not too pointy, otherwise I trip). And as for black pumps, ("court shoes"?), I have loved mine (low heel with gathered opening all around ). They look more casual this way, but great with jeans! Also have had 2 pair of heeled brogue booties for years, and since it's only a 2 inch heel, it makes them very wearable and again, more feminine. I'm just not tall and lanky enough to pull off the androgynous look. Love it on others though... Have fun Fall shopping everyone, 🎉

    My “SHOE LOVE” is still in full swing, but the kinds of shoes I like have changed. I was blessed with very strong, wide feet, and since comfort is most important, I’ve decided to embrace the width of my feet, and just go for funky footwear. I have some crazy looking Birkenstocks, and a collection of Chuck Taylor Converse in some fun colors and some crazy soles on them. I just turned 60, and I have nothing to prove-but I get a giggle out of wearing my Chucks with about everything and my 7 year old granddaughter thinks it’s the funniest thing EVER! Yeah, I’m Funky Frumpy, but I’m having fun with it-and my feet don’t hurt!

    Two years ago, I got sidetracked and purchased two pairs of combat boots to my regret... They are just a bit too masculine for my taste... I should have opted for my first choice, the regular sole Doc Martin's.😅

    I really wish the poi ty low heels were made in thick heels...I,live abroad where the streets are cobblestones and very uneven a very old Spanish colonial town. Mostly I am stuck with Chelsea boots, flat cowboy boots, athletic shoes, I cant wear many brands f flats or loafers as I have a AA heel very narrow regular front of my foot so the slingbacks WOULD be perfect is the heels were thicker...I am always frustrated re dresses and skirts...maxis are okay with boots amd any kind...cant wear court shoes either.

    Interesting to hear what classic shoes are called in different places. Court shoes in the US are basketball or tennis style sneakers, i.e.what you'd use on a tennis court or basketball court. We call Leonie's court shoes pumps here. Brogues are oxfords. Cowboy boots are sometimes negatively received in big cities here as borderline cultural appropriation (something someone who can't even ride a horse should not wear) so its nice to see them getting metalized and decorated to be something other than to protect your feet from cow poop 😂 fun video, thank you!

    • @llm5726
      @llm5726 Рік тому

      Rediculius for cowboy boots to be considered “cultural appropriation”. If that’s the case, then combat boots would be also, since they originated as boots worn by military personnel on the battle field. Many shoe styles originated to wear for a specific purpose (tennis or court shoes for example). No reason in the world why people shouldn’t be able to wear whatever shoes they want without being considered non-PC for doing so.

    • @Thestyleinsider.
      @Thestyleinsider.  Рік тому

      Wow that’s so interesting that court shoes are sneakers - it makes SO much sense tho 🤷🏻‍♀️ No sure why we call them court shoes 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

    I’ve got some loafers from a few years back, when the sole wasn’t so chunky. They’re more like a wedge/almost straight sole that’s slightly thicker near the heel but light and very comfortable. Also no huge buckle just a bit of a fringe
    I wear them with jeans but they’re fine with skirts. I’m not about to rush out for metallic cowboy boots, I can’t see them having much longevity. I too prefer leather, fairly classic and by cycling through them depending on weather, they go on forever.

    If you want something more versatile as a Chelsea boot. Blunderstone is extremely warm, comfortable, and waterproof while maintaining its looks. I have a pair and those boots are amazing. They so good that I regret buying my black doc martens Chelsea boots. I was walking in rain puddles with a pair of seal brown ones in suede. My feet were warm and dry. Once the boots dried they looked as if they NEVER were wet. I can’t say enough.

    I wear mostly skirts and dresses, because of the near-impossibility of finding trousers or jeans that fit my unusual body shape; it’s straight up and down, like a boy’s. But, I just feel frumpy wearing sneakers with them, I’m quite short. Plus, although I keep up with most modern styles, I might just be too old, 63, to like the look of sneakers with skirts on myself. We were constantly criticized in the past for wearing sneakers with our business clothes during our commutes, but the length and roughness of our walks home after exiting trains or buses required them. Any ideas for other comfortable shoes that look great with skirts, but add a bit of height?

      I was confused too about that (being American). I think I have only heard that term for basketball shoes (that you wear on a basketball court). Luckily you always show examples so I figured out that they are black thinner heeled pumps or slingbacks. Love most of the styles you showed in this video, especially the loafers and combat boots. Just got my first pair of Doc's off of Facebook Marketplace after a long search. 😊
