- Thanks to Redcat for sending us this Ascent to review. I've bought several Redcat vehicles in the past and really enjoyed them (Gen8 Scout, Kaiju, SixtyFour). That said, like all reviews we only offer to do them if we can say and show anything we want to about them. What we like and don't like. This is one of the only times I've ever taken the time mid-review to email the company to say how impressed I am with a product. For $299, the Redcat Ascent is very impressive. Normally we say things like, that's typical to have to replace stock servos and trashy tires. This servo works and the tires actually hook up surprisingly well. I've run this on our local comp track now as well and it's a solid rig. The rest of the info...you'll have to watch to hear.

Great video showcasing the ability of the new RedCat Ascent. Kudos to RedCat for producing a LCG rig. While I don't own a RedCat, yet, I always thought they were engineered and built pretty well especially for the price point. I'm an Axial fan all the way but this one has got my attention.
I'm the guy driving it in the black shirt, I'm also a Axial person .I was totally impressed on how this truck handled for a RTR and at 3 bills ,just throw some wheel weights and heavier rims with the overdrive in the the front and this would be a class 2 beast. Element and Axial better watch out I don't think you can go wrong with it as a first comp truck or trail truck. Traxxas is is so far out to lunch to even think about competing with this one
This makes me want one of these trucks, and makes me want to finally start UA-cam

Just venting the tires would make this rig, VERY capable. I'll be purchasing one soon. I would also take off the rear bed. I would also install a Fusion SE motor, 1800KV.
