I'm making a superflat survival world on bedrock, and I'm building this out of wood. I did the calculations for the materials needed, and I'm sharing them incase anyone wants it. I used 5 layers, the same amount shown in the video. You need 1364 planks, 492 slabs, and 404 trap doors. Crafting these requires a total of 673 logs, which is a little over 10 and a half stacks, but it's better to round up to 11. On a side note, I'd also recommend either digging out the grass and dirt which exposes the bedrock or making the grass blocks path blocks with a shovel beneath the farm because mobs can't spawn on them. Do this beneath the mob farm so you can farm them without getting attacked by slimes. You can also put fences around this area to make sure they don't get in at all. Hope this helped someone 👍

This works pretty good. A little slow but ive found if you're careful you can get on top of the 2x2 spot above the pit and lure the mobs in faster

@@KillerKactus You can but there's not really a point in doing that unless you want it near your base if it's near/at spawn chunk.
Can the carpet be replaced with buttons or slabs?
Anyone here from bedrock super flat 😄. And love the short i remember when i had a hard time looking for water less mob farms.

Its better to make it 22 blocks and place a slab so that the mobs are one hit and place carpet/slabs on every other block so spiders dont spawn
This is genuinely really good advice and I hope you get more likes, so more people see it. Especially for early game, spider drops are useless to you. Decreasing the amount of spiders == increasing the amount of skele/zombie. If you're on bedrock, your first goal is water. Next is copper. You can worry about potions MUCH later.
Massive EDIT: Not to mention spider's will absolutely decimate this farm's rates due to them being able to climb walls which will lead to clogging.

@@HelloIbeMattspiders can be mildly useful for a very short period if you don’t have a passive animal farm yet - you can use the string to make wool and make a bed

Spiders will be a problem with this farm. Maybe a 3x3 central hole could work better

I am can you tell me how many block does it does it use. Also can you tell me what did he say between 0:11 and 0:12. I couldn't get it because cuz he was speaking too fast (English isn't my first language btw)
@@sayantadas1622he said "go out 2 and up 3", which means every level of the farm will be 2 blocks wider from the center out and 3 blocks up from previous level.

This farm is based on a similar video I made 5 years ago called Waterless Mob Farm. Back then we used buttons instead of trapdoors. The video is slow paced if you need one you can follow along with. Remember to use trapdoors, not buttons! I hope it helps you. 😉

Use riptide trident in water with corners and charge attack to get sweeping edge

If you use turtle eggs zombies will try to run and jump on them falling down so it will be a bit faster

So how do you stop Spiders and Endermen from clogging the mob cap? Spiders like to cling to the walls and won't go down the hole, and Endermen can't fit under the two block high gaps.
Spiders shouldn’t spawn because they need a 3x3 space,
And endermen should still fall down the hole
@@IceCoffeyI have spiders spawn in my creeper/spider farm despite the largest area being 2x2, I also think you can substitute the trapdoors for buttons which would save a bit of wood

You are going to need at least a 1 chunk wood farm with a seeder farm for superflat. It's a pain, but that's just how this gamemode starts. Lots.. and lots.... and lots..... of slow painful wood.

I only built 4 floors and it took me about 14 stacks of logs or about 56 stacks of solid blocks
Just get as much as you can, you will need a LOT

It's useless to build this many layers because mobs that are 32 blocks away from player stop moving

No as path blocks let light in
If you don't have a water bucket, just use 1000 planks instead.

Did you make it dark? Also did you put full blocks on the roof? Light goes through slabs, but you still need slabs on top of the full blocks or mobs will spawn on the roof(outside your farm)

Yes, that works, but collecting that wood is faster, because u can craft logs into planks. (Except if u have a god shovel for some reason)

Ive built it in my flatworld. Im trying to turn the grass blocks to path blocks that surrounds the farm and I got huge portion of it. But it seems like the spawn rates are low

spiders need a 2x2 area to spawn i believe, so place a carpet every other block. it'll mildly reduce spawn rates but spiders won't spawn.

Why do you slab off the top?
mobs can only spawn on full blocks, so slabbing off the top makes sure the mobs dont just spawn on the roof.

Yes, but there are way better pathfinding designs for java
