I was in an adult day care place one year that used to be a Catholic elementary school, and they had yoga every other day in a different room. Most of the people went to it, but I didn't. I believe very much that Our Blessed Mother protected me from such evil! I'm grateful!

Brie Summers the blessed mother?? Lol she has no idea what’s going on with you... Mary was a vessel used by god to give birth to Jesus not to be prayed to or worshipped, Jesus died for us on the cross he is the one who deserves the glory. Praying to Mary or the worshipping of saints is idolatry!

The thing that gives me peace is cleaning my house. And when it is clean pray the rosary. Later invite virgen Mary to helpme prepare dinner and clean the kitchen i just imagen her, the virgen with me. Last make sure that I try to live acording to God's 10 commandments hard to do. The sentation of a clean house and everybody clean and fed, the invitation of virgen Mary to lead my home gives me a sensation of peace at the end of the day.

@SurreallTV When practising Catholics pray the Rosary, we meditate upon those examples of Jesus and his mother Mary shown regarding their time on earth (starting from the Angel Gabriel's Announcing that Mary will be the mother of Incarnate God), asking Mary to pray for now that we might receive graces for those virtues to be in our lives i.e. humility, simplicity, courage, perseverance, love of our neighbour, love of God etc.. remember our Lord told us to keep asking, keep knocking, keep seeking. We also ask that our Lady prays for us when we are close to death : Evil spirits will try to drag our souls in a last bid to hell and her prayers will certainly help us.

It's strange how denominations aka protestants can't figure out why the Church holds Mary as a co-redemptrix, while catholics can't figure out why protestants don't. All denominations came from the Church. They were either fall-away Catholics or they sprang forth from churches that were started by Fall Away Catholics. Even Lutheranism is just a shell of what Luther started. Luther actually loved Mary. There are just certain parts of the Bible he misread. And all of the ensuing Protestant Faith's misread Luther, and so on and so on and so on.
Some faiths just had clowns, nutjobs, and hustlers as a base. Muhammad, Joe Smith, David Koresh, Henry XIII, etc. and although Martin Luther was a smart man, he was still a heretic.

He said the demon would coil itself around his friends spine and his friend would slither on the ground uncontrollably from time to time, and was only relieved of this after a exorcism from a catholic priest.

Very well said father. I'm an Indian and have heard hindus lamenting about kundalini who were born hindus and been practicing yoga. The demon might give happiness, but it would be very short lived and soon followed by hellish experiences. Our Lord and Lady are the ones we must look for. They are the true source of joy. Only Catholics talk about Joy in sorrow. Ave Maria.

I use to do Yoga. It honestly was just about stretching for me and relaxing. I wasn't very good in knowing my Catholic faith and still learning. I saw that it helped me loosen up . It wasn't until my Mom went to a Catholic conference and they talked about the danger of Yoga. She brought home a pamphlet about it . I read about it and quickly decided to stop.
But those stretches felt so great right ? So now I look up non yoga stretches. God was merciful with me.
There are plenty of stretches you can do without yoga. Those really are poses of Hindu gods. No thank you !
Be careful too if you are doing physical therapy and health too. Many medical places want you to use Yoga and or they rename it too.
I agree whole heartly with Father. Please Sensus Fidelum do more videos about this. This stuff is everywhere. Especially with our Catholics.

In my opinion the best way to relax the mind is to say the Rosary in Latin. The traditional version (Pater, Ave, Gloria and the FIFTEEN mysteries only). Credo in Unam Deum before you start and Salve and O Mi Iesu after you finish. Plus others like Anima Christi, Memorare, Sancte Michael A and Angele Dei.Careful it can put you straight to sleep!!! FYI, it will take some time to learn all of this in the sacred language.

It enables one to better understand "their" faith, Jesus, Jew or goat. I'm Roman Catholic. Always was, always will be. In no way did my practice of hatha yoga turn me away from Jesus. Quite the opposite. IF you did everything, even a comment - IF you did it with Jesus consciously in front of you, you wouldn't get so lost. I pray - rosary, litany, novena. Inspired monks replaced this ancient tradition with 3 repetitions of 5 repetions of 10 Hail Mary prayers, each asking Saint Mary to pray for us; and prayed in Latin, Greek or the spoken language. The rosary can be 50 of these Hail Mary plus a few more prayers, or the string of beads used for the recitation. rofl. Many of the eastern mysticisms seem innocuous at first. That is how the devil gains ground. I always love the parable of the mustard seed and how big things start from something small. The devil has his mustard seed. You know, we start accepting something, sometimes with our unbeknownst of the danger involved.
      A little info about Gaia,
      www.catholic-saints.net/gaia-and-gaianism/
      forums.catholic.com/t/welcome-to-the-world-of-gaia/26453
The crap concerning “Ecological Spirituality.” has permeated everything in today's society. See how insidious it has become (the mustard seed first starts small). How many times reading articles in Linkedin did I come across some form of it. The notion of combating global warming is based on this as well as doomsday movies. And at the end it all comes down to some form of drastic population control.
Anyway, God speed and glad you saw the light.

Are you referring to this Jay Dyer,
      jaysanalysis.com/tag/roman-catholic/
There are issues with Vatican II. What little I was able to get from his web site while perusing it is what has been talked within many conservative Catholic circles. What he is railing against are the modernists within the church that have and continue to attempt to set up their own church. In some ways they have succeeded. Hence, the massive confusion with many Catholics. In some cirlces Gaia has been introduced! Look up Catholic Church welcomes Krishna and Gaia. In other churches Eastern mysticism has crept in. One can throw in acceptance of homosexuality. It's a world of hurt out there.
To clarify, I am not a sedevacantist. Only another pope can judge a pope.
Aside from all that Dyer has his own web site apart from Gaia. Personally I would just stick with the web site. (He certainly seems better than that Alex Jones character). You did the right thing with ceasing support of Gaia.

I always poo pooed everyone who said that it was dangerous. It wasn't until only about a year or two ago, I listened to a very compelling argument on why it was dangerous. Even if you're just stretching, each pose is a prayer to the hindu gods (demons). That resonated with me. Also, the fact that there were never yoga studios in India because only yogis practiced yoga. It wasn't until the last 20 years that India has seen the westernized yoga studios that are prevalent everywhere. Looking forward to listening to this...

He talked a lot about Kundahlini yoga and the dormant serpent that is awakened during that practice. Ironically, after reading it, I struck up a conversation with a young guy who described that exact experience while he was relaxing at home. To him it was quite a shock and he was deeply puzzled. God never denied the existance of Hindu religion, but I can understand why he forbids it when people are starting to come to a point why they don't even want to control themselves, but also others. Sadly I had some experiences with the occult that were more negative than positive. And this happened when people who practice the occult were trying to manipulate my life: then it becomes a violation of free will and our natural birth right. This is what I reject in the occult, although I do want to understand the working of my own soul on a basic level, to protect myself precisely against the occult (which I do believe exists), without giving permission to the occult to overtake my mind or body. That's why I am trying to keep the occult on a low and marginal level and give the blessings to God. Amen.

Like there are people nowadays who can call themselves christian witches and conduct their ceremonies with scripture readings. The devil also knows and uses scripture to twist it to his schemes. Same as tht marianne williamson and her new age mindset. Please stay away from these new doors to the same old demon.
Pray the rosary & read the bible, it cleanses and heals and fills you with the Holy Spirit of Our Lord when you ask.

Okay let me explain my situation. I do not believe in any of the spiritual aspects of yoga and do everything possible to steer clear of them. Could I practice yoga at home as a form of physical therapy while utterly rejecting any of its Hindu aspects? I have a bad back and I find the some yoga poses help to strengthen it and relieve pain.

For meditation or relaxing the mind?
Just meditate on God or rosary.

Hi Rev. Father, thanks for telling us the truth. This talk has opened my eyes. I'm a Catholic priest from India. I have a doubt. I'm a student of music production and studio engineering. I practice hindustani classical music for the improvement of my vocal. Hindustani classical music is heavily related to hindu gods and godesses. So being a Catholic, or even more as a priest, is it harmful to practice hindustani classical music for vocal improvement? Will it be considered part of idol worship. I am asking for clarification from my genuine doubt. Please answer me as soon as possible...

Any devotion to hindu gods is paganism. They are devils. Why does a Catholic priest need to learn hindu art forms and practice it??? You have truth and complete spiritual essence and Salvation in Catholic Church. Get out of paganism and surrender yourself to Jesus and Holy Sacraments. Deliver yourself out of modernist Catholic ideology which is a deviation leading to heresy, paganism and occult. No true Catholic lay people is looking out for priests who love paganism and inculturised modernist Church.
I am a malayalee Catholic like you and my Son is a seminarian and I strongly understand seminaries are now a breeding grounds of paganised priests.

Father, I do yoga as a form of exercise, but I still agree with you 100% that almost everyone who instructs yoga, and most people who practice yoga are dabbling in new age religion, or some combination of Hindu/Buddhist/pagan concepts. Yoga instructors often consider themselves some sort of spiritual/philosophical/psychological coaches. I think many espouse dangerous concepts such as self-love and learning to accept yourself for who you are. Adopting these philosophies prevent Catholics and other Christians from true self examination. These ideas taken to their logical end lead to persons who are comepletely focused inward and define "self improvement" through being able to perfrom more complex poses. But yoga is just the most obvious physical pursuit because many instructors incorporate symbols from varying pagan practices in their surroundings or in the instructions of their sessions. But, many other physical and athletic pusuits can lead to the worshop of false gods. I have seen people who train 20-30 hours a week for differing races or competitions, rather then spend time with their families. People who do body building or weight training so they can have that perfect look, focusing their entire life on diet and exercise for their vanity as opposed to heath. Many people attend cross-fit group training on Sundays as their "Church". Pride and vanity are the driving factors of most people's exercise as opposed to just being heathy. Look at most ads fro exercise programs: get bikini body ready, get six pack abs, get that revenge body, and look sexier than ever. We need to look at what brings us to our activities. Whether it is sport, playing an instrumnet, the type of job we want, and examine whether its for Godly or sinful reasons. I would also say that we could look back at many activities and see a pagan influence or origination. Danicing and singing were the center of pagan rituals. Organized sport was used to celebrate pagan holidays or the performance of the events were seen as a form of offering to the gods. We do not discount the potential value of these activities because of their pagan orgins or influence. There is scientific proof to the physical and psychological benefits to the poses, movements, and breathing methods performed in yoga. I have dealt with anxiety related to post combat trauma. Yoga has been incredibly useful to me in dealing with the physiological aspects of anxiety. When I started yoga I was fairly grounded in my understanding of my faith. I wasn't looking for spirituality out of exercise. I go to church, pray, or do religious reading for that.

The problem with yoga is that it was conceived for spiritual purposes, even asana.
Asana was created inside hindu practice, in order for the body to be healthy and fully capable of spiritual pursuit. This was a pre requisite in hindu practice. However, it is contrary to Truth, i.e. Catholicism, since it suggests that salvation is attained by our works and merits.
Furthermore, asanas have names of hindu "gods" (hanumasana, for instance) that are being honored by you while you performe them.
Truth is that some practices are in itself a form of pagan worship. Yoga is one of them.

My question is what about yoga that is watered down and doesn’t focus on the spiritual side of things and is just used for stretching? Reason I ask is because my Mom was a yoga instructor after she got out of the army and would often teach those still in. She taught it in a way that would be helpful to the service members and it didn’t include anything religious during it (she is a devout Catholic).

@@gelhead4life hello. Yoga is intrinsically sinful because of its nature. You cannot separate yoga from its metaphysical part, because those who CREATED IT DID NOT. If you are seated with your legs crossed you are seated with your legs crossed, but if you are in sukhasana you are in sukhasana and will reap the consequences of being in sukhasana. If you are stretching you are stretching, but if are practicing yoga you no longer are streching, but practicing yoga and will reap the consequences of practicing yoga.

    • @miriam6901

I wouldn't if I were you. Pilates, created by Joseph Pilates, was heavily influenced by yoga and Zen meditation when this was created. It's still new-age religious "exercise". The goal is basically the same, to gain mastery of the mind over the complete control of your body. Fact is, no one needs these particular new age "developments" to be physically active.
Go for a walk (a light one if you're not able to walk far), stretch your body, I really think considering a parasite cleanse would help, if you decided to do one since it's such a prevalent issue, and offer up your pain to God, but try to suffer well.
Also, according to the CDC website 90 percent of America has parasites (worms, candida, mold, etc.), which can wreak havoc on the body. It's good to detox especially with contaminated water, food, and the air (chemtrails). Pilates is just another entrance for this type of stuff. I started to get into pilates at home, but then I was told about Pi-Yo from a co-worker because I was looking to get more out of the exercise portion. I gave up after it became aware that this was all part of the occult.

    The title of this is:
Yoga: an open door into the occult.
    Did anybody get that?
It reads, it is an open door - not that 'it' is part of the occult.
Yes. If one goes into any meditative practice without Jesus, it is an open door into the occult. Jesus shuts that down.
Never did I allow myself to enter into meditation with anyone, and I wz asked plenty of times, "let's do this together."; " do you want to do yoga with me?". My answer was always, no.
Why? It didn't feel right, I knew something wasn't right about it. So I didn't approach it.
All this talk about yoga being a doorway was just as prevalent in the early '70's as it is today.
Take the heed. In that, ALWAYS put Jesus first. You threw Him in the back seat when you started and the reason the call positions in hatha yoga, postures, is so people don't equate it with doing an exercise. People hear, exercise, and immediately it's a drag.
Get over yourselves. Put Jesus in your place.

    Nostra Aetate
2 From ancient times down to the present, there is found among various peoples a certain perception of that hidden power which hovers over the course of things and over the events of human history; at times some indeed have come to the recognition of a Supreme Being, or even of a Father. This perception and recognition penetrates their lives with a profound religious sense.
Religions, however, that are bound up with an advanced culture have struggled to answer the same questions by means of more refined concepts and a more developed language. Thus in Hinduism, men contemplate the divine mystery and express it through an inexhaustible abundance of myths and through searching philosophical inquiry. They seek freedom from the anguish of our human condition either through ascetical practices or profound meditation or a flight to God with love and trust. Again, Buddhism, in its various forms, realizes the radical insufficiency of this changeable world; it teaches a way by which men, in a devout and confident spirit, may be able either to acquire the state of perfect liberation, or attain, by their own efforts or through higher help, supreme illumination. Likewise, other religions found everywhere try to counter the restlessness of the human heart, each in its own manner, by proposing “ways,” comprising teachings, rules of life, and sacred rites. The Catholic Church rejects nothing that is true and holy in these religions. She regards with sincere reverence those ways of conduct and of life, those precepts and teachings which, though differing in many aspects from the ones she holds and sets forth, nonetheless often reflect a ray of that Truth which enlightens all men. Indeed, she proclaims, and ever must proclaim Christ “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6), in whom men may find the fullness of religious life, in whom God has reconciled all things to Himself.(4)
The Church, therefore, exhorts her sons, that through dialogue and collaboration with the followers of other religions, carried out with prudence and love and in witness to the Christian faith and life, they recognize, preserve and promote the good things, spiritual and moral, as well as the socio-cultural values found among these men.
