I took this car to NY for a training class for work, I ended up getting a speeding ticket going 104 mph, I assure you, I’m far from mr. speed racer on the highway, but the car drives so fast and smooth, I had no idea I was even going that fast. Never the less, This car is amazing. I fell in love with it after 1 day.
I just bought this car. Absolutely love it. Had a 2010 Nissan Altima before that, but the transmission on it died. So, I purchased the 2017 Maxima pretty quickly because I needed a car. They say take your time, but I'm loving this way more than the Altima I had.
have to disagree... the V motion does not look like a smiley face, it does make it look more agressive even when they are making them much larger and bolder.
Yeah I know what you mean but It still looks mean. Do you think there'll be a redesign soon? My lease is almost up and I woulnt mind a Maxima but would hate it if i get it and it gets redesigned a couple months later
The life cycle of a particular model generation is usually about 5 years. This current 8th generation debuted as a 2016 model so I'd say nothing is imminent. Large sedans are falling out of favour and some of the Maxima's competition may not live to see another generation (Impala, Taurus, 300, etc). However my guess is that a 9th gen Maxima will be made and it will likely bear some resemblance to the VMotion 2.0 Concept that they revealed at the Detroit Auto Show last year. Perhaps something like the concept will be a 2020 or 2021 Maxima...but nothing to pin your hat on just yet.
I own the 2017 Storm Blue Maxima. It does its job in terms of highway driving near or above 80-90. The cabinet is quiet with a smooth ride. However, this car does not have instant take off. From light to light (city driving), an Impala can out run it no question. In fact, a Malibu can challenge it as well. Car performance seems to begin after reaching 40 mph. Nissan fell short considering it is marketed as a sport car.
no but you can occasionally to "clean up" the pipes. make sure u get as empty as you can then refill with premium and let that run out and go back to regular. Once in a while wont hurt just dont do it too often cuz thats not what the car is asking for
I don't think it looks like a happy face. And I'm assuming you're talking about the previous generation Mazda sedans. White is by far the worst color for the maxima in my opinion... looks much better in the more practical colors, namely "brilliant silver", "super black", and "Carnelian red *extra cost option*"
Beautifully shot video. Thanks for sharing your perspective Eric. I drove the SV model last week and loved it. The HUD on this car is the best I've seen. You can see what I'm talking about here: ua-cam.com/video/p8RrdIpnFxU/v-deo.html
Actually the HUD you mention is not a true Head Up display. True HUD displays are up in the window so you do not have to take your eyes off the road to check your major readings. This in-dash "HUD"-style graphics is quite nice however. Just love it. HUD began in jet fighters in late 60s and early 70s.
Nissan is in a bad place with their styling right now. This Maxima looks like Optimus Prime mated with an Oscar Mayer Weiner dog mobile. Their ugly styling is reflected in their drop in $ales...

And because it's good on gas, you probably saved enough over time to pay for the ticket!
is it good on gas how many miles do u get with full tank ?
A half a tank got me from eastern mass to western upstate NY, so to answer your question, the mpg is pretty damn good
oh thank god im intersted in this car but i travel very far so i really wanted to know if its economical on gas thanks bro .
I don't see a happy smiley face on this one, but it does make it stand out from the crowd.
Teddy Vee right

I had a 14 and 16 altima and both transmissions died before 100k
Hopefully, whenever I have the means to buy a new car, I would definitely consider one of these. It's very beautiful!
Nissan is the best!
This car is beautiful. Love everything about the look
I bought a 2017...it's awesome...just make sure you put snow tires on it for winter time in N.Y. Average mpg...22
8.3L/100 is waaaay better than my 2011 sonata😱😱. Im seriously considering The Nissan Maxima.
I have one and it is awesome also 4DSC is visible on tail lights would recomend

Kevin Clavijo if you saw it coming at you with its daytime running lights on and no headlights...you'd totally see what I'm talking about.

I did notice that too today…my 09 Toyata Sienna has a lot more instant take off than this..it’s not even close
smiley face or not I get complements left and right
oscar salazar as well you should. It's still one of my favourites - even with a smiley face grille... Thanks for the comment.
oscar salazar me too..and respect on the highway
Do you have to put premium gas ⛽️ in this car dealership said no but I read you do 🤔🤔
nicholas crittenden Premium fuel is not required. Regular 87 Octane is all you need.

nick bean It clearly states that “Premium” is recommended. If you can afford this car then the extra .25 cents a gallon should be just fine.
nice i still like this car even with the cvt

Stop calling it (NEES-ANN)
what other car manufacturer had the smiley face issue?
If you Google image search the 2012 Acura TL, you'll see what I mean.
Mazda for one.
weird reveiw..you wonder his taste

Maxima is small.. Altima better option
I love the Altima, but your comment is interesting given that the Altima has less passenger volume overall than this Maxima.
98 and 12 were only good max..
Rest 💩
ALT was best 05 and 18..

@@jstew3346 I had 2 Altimas in the past. An '03 SL and an '07 SL. Loved them both, but also imagined getting a Maxima.
