    Underrated song
Tbh each album has their own best instrument. Opus has the base like u just mentioned, Infest has the spooky voice, Meliora has the heavy Drums, like you probably heard in cirice or ftpttp, Prequelle has the amazing piano like you will hopefuly experience in the future and Impera has the melodic and beautiful guitar. Just enjoy ur ride through the albums and have fun 🤟😈

So smart that you are going back thru the discography in proper order. You will see the growth and how Tobias is obviously rolling his financial resources forward with each album being just a bit "more" than the last. By the end, you'll realize he may be his generation's Prince. Yeah, I said it.

Oooh! The Black Sabbath comment was me my friend. It's been a joy watching you discover this band, and I'm enjoying you going through these.

"all of them are really good" says it all. imagine Tobias did this as a side gig and sat on some of these songs for years....

I totally agree with you. The best part with Ghost is the diversity. One day i listen to Opus and one day i listen to Prequelle. It depends which mood I'm in. And live you get the perfect mix.

I know folks have been telling you to "react to the live version" of some songs... don't, avoid the live videos until AFTER you've been to your first ritual. They are phenomenal live and IMO you should just get that experience first.
    Also... the song ZENITH.
Love seeing someone discover this band in front of our eyes. Keep it up!

They were using Orange amps back then . Can't wait for you to react on the next album! I'm refreshing youtube's home page daily, to see if it's some ghost reaction from you ha ha ..oh, and don't forget - "Secular Haze" from Meliora has an official video!!! the video adds perfectly to the atmosphere of the song! Also, don't skip the bonus tracks, like ZENITH from the Meliora period and the dark rendition of HERE COMES THE SUN Beatles cover, with its perfect 50's dark chord progressions.

Ghost's "Here Comes The Sun" is the best goth summer anthem ever recorded.

I agree with some of the other commenters, I enjoy your tangents, and you definitely don't sound dumb. Another band that evolved and ended up with a divided fandom is Linkin Park. I can't say I'm into all of their music like I am with Ghost, but I still love what they did. As far as Satan Prayer, I feel like it's vastly underrated. It's one I've always enjoyed as opposed to some others that are more popular.
I only recently discovered another band called From Ashes to New. Apparently they've been around for a few years, I just hadn't heard of them until recently. Their song Panic is on my playlist now.

I have no idea about whether or not you may be able to react to the videos and little skits they have, but I’d love to see your reactions to those. They’re comedic and go along with Ghost’s lore. But, don’t start attempting to watch them until you’ve reached the album “Prequelle”. I might be wrong in that? But, I’m like 78% sure that’s where you should start watching them. Lol. Anyway, keep busting out these badass videos!

At about the 5 minute mark you nailed it. I think I touched on it on a prior vid in a comment, but yeah, you can't really blame original fans for not liking the newer stuff. It is a different sound now for sure, where a lot of tracks on this album all had a similar vibe.
But yes, its great to have a band that's got stuff like this in their catalogue to go back to when you need it.
When I first got into Ghost, I enjoyed all the albums, but Opus Eponymous was the one I didn't really 'get' at first, especially having been exposed to Meliora first which had way more polish on it. But after a while, it really grew on me and gets just as much playtime as the rest of the stuff. Just as I love songs like He Is for the uniqueness of it, the songs on this album bring a certain 'gritty/raw' factor that the newer stuff doesn't bring. And it's all great.
"Best of both worlds", you said. Exactly.

This song is like if Sabbath and Blue Oyster Cult had a satanic baby and it was raised by ELO

Lol, sorry, double dipping in your comments. What's fun when watching vids like these is I also get a chance to hear a song in a different way.
And while being more analytical in my listening, I was just thinking about the tones of the guitar in that solo and how I suddenly realized what it reminds me of so much, and sure enough seconds later you start talking, "What is that tone??"
For me that solo sounds like something that would fit in seamlessly on Iron Maiden's Somewhere In Time album. I don't know nearly enough about the technical side of things, but I swear that if you isolated the solo here and threw it in the middle of Wasted Years, no one would notice, haha

I'm 50 years old so I've been though all the fandoms that get put off by a band changing. I'm always going to stick with bands that change. Even TOOL which has stuck to a sort of sound has changed a lot between albums. They've just figured out how to do it while still being very TOOL. Ghost is like that in some respects, but TOOL will never write a song that is fundamentally different in genre than another. And that's probably why I'm inching closer to Ghost now than TOOL.

Hello! I love your Ghost reactions. In regard to your comment about the guitar tones, it was mainly Orange amps. They toured with Orange AND sometimes Marshall for their early tours. Now I am quite sure they are using Axe-FX.

    Great reaction.
Time to dive into some Opeth as well ?
Another great rabbit hole to dive into, Ghost of Perdition, Harlequin Forest or Deliverance to get going, or any of their songs really.

I definitely prefer the the stuff from Meliora up to current over the older stuff, but it's not like they have no good stuff from earlier on, not at all. This song is a good example that they always had something special
