    Glad that windshield worked out for you. I fought with one the hubby bought me and ended up taking it off completely. And thanks for the shoutout at the end. Hippodrones is a cool dude 👍🏻

    My 2011 Versys came with a Givi screen that the previous owner installed. Being 6'4", I haven't had any issues with it when it comes to wind protection. I'll definitely consider this one if I end up getting a new one someday.

    Great guide to fitting the screen, your garage is so much tidier than mine lol 🙈

      It's not that clean, I just don't show the awful parts 😀. Thanks again for the stickers!

    Hi man.
    I have V650 2018 model, I am 5.9 ft tall. and i looking for aftermarket windscreen, and now I need to choose between GIVI which you had and this Ermax, because my OEM windscreen start to cracking more and more.
    Which turned out to be better for you in the end GIVI or Ermax? Which vibrates less in the wind? Did it bother you while driving , the part of the visor where the curved part turns into a flat part, I see in the video that the image is distorted in that part? And did you have any problems at bigger speed like 100mph?

      The Givi was slightly better overall for me, but they were both very good

    Wind protection is one of the reasons i want to sell my Gen 1 Versys. There are not as many offerings for aftermarket screens as for Gen 2 and Gen 3. And the ones that are there are not that tall. I'm 6'3" and the buffeting line sits right at my chin, so I'd need a humongous windscreen, maybe even an additional lip to move that over my head. I would probably be better off taking the windscreen off. But i use the stock one for better visibility with some high-vis reflectors taped on it so... decisions...

    Do you happen to have this stock windscreen still? I'm not far from you lol, my second hand bike came with a Puig and it's horrible.

    Never rode a verseys before but i have a soft spot for v stroms. I'm curious if the verseys is as off road capable if not more than the v strom 650

    • @DorkintheRoad
      @DorkintheRoad  5 років тому +1

      It isn't. The Versys is designed more for street performance with similar ergonomics. Versys has a smaller front wheel which makes it less capable off road

    I tried an Ermax screen on my Africa Twin and it was not good. Big time buffeting at 60 mph. I'm 6' so maybe for a shorter rider it might work but any taller and its a lot of buffeting. I went back to the original Honda windscreen for now, I don't want to waste any more money.

    Strange. I have the same versys and the stock screen works great for me. No buffeting unless I get behind a big truck. I'm 6'3 and have the screen at the highest point.

      that's so weird I'm 6'4 and the buffeting drives me crazy , i wouldnt mind it hitting in the chest but the head drives me crazy

    The French have Distorted Views.... Well in that screen anyway..lol. I am wondering if your keeping the original shield... I am looking for a Kawi Super Sherpa and would bolt that shield to the front of it.. Giving me a little more protection on a little ADV bike..
