I love how even Daemon’s dragon, just as impulsive and aggressive as his owner, is so happy to see Rhaenyra’s dragon. That dragon turned from “One step and I’ll burn yall” to “SYYYRAAAX HIII LOVE HOW ARE YA” Rhaenyra was the only person Daemon did not have any issue with in all of King’s Landing. She purposefully took off the necklace he gifted her (which she previously wore on every occasion) to show how he offended her, and he took notice. Those two have a connection that no one else can have.
Great job guys! This was a ton of fun. So, just a few points: 1. A dragon can only be of use if it has a rider, and each rider can bond with only one dragon. So, Drogon was bonded to Daenerys (she never rode Viseryon or Rhaegal), Caraxes is bonded to Daemon, and Syrax is bonded to Rhaenyra. Viserys was Balerion's last rider before he died, and Viserys never claimed another dragon after that. 2. Corlys Velaryon is everything he said he was. His house is, at this moment, the richest and most powerful in the land, and they are a naval powerhouse. The Velaryons run the seas the same way the Targaryens run the skies.
Yes! Each "device" represents a figure in Targaryen history, the trails of blood emanating from it designate children, and when a device overflows with blood, it indicates that person is dead. Note that the symbol for Rhanyra's device shows the three-lobed necklace charm from the necklace that Daemon gave her.

He was looking genuinely sad at the funeral. He doesn't put on pretense; he was upset about Aemma and the baby. I think some forget that Aemma was his cousin, as well as his sister in law. Targaryens and Velaryons are strongly related, they've inter-wed a lot. A Dragon can only have one rider, and a rider can only be bonded to one dragon at a time. It's a relationship, like a marriage. Some dragons live so long that they have successive riders one after the other. Viserys never claimed another mount after Balerion died. Viserys was Balerion's 4th rider that we know about. 45:41 i think it's not necessarily "fake". Yes Alicent was forced by her father to rizz up the King. But i do believe they both enjoy each other's company. The King isn't that bad of a friend for Alicent. And when it comes to remarry someone, the King would rather chose someone who is close to him than a 12yo girl who's also forced into the situation, but blatantly put there as political pawn. The difference between Alicent's and Leana's situations is how their fathers put their daughters as political pawn... One only depend on family name and blood relative, the other one depend on having a charm to rizz up the king.
You need to remember all the people in Game or Thrones are very biased against the Targaryens because most fought against them. In reality, the Targaryen dynasty was when Westeros was at its most prosperous and peaceful. There were times of instability but less than the constant warfare that was prevalent pre Targaryens. The Taragryens built roads to unify the kingdoms, introduced a unified code of laws, outlawed slavery (the Ironborn were still practicing it until the Targaryens put an end to that), outlawed barbaric practices such as 'the First Night' which allowed a lord to sleep with any woman getting married in his lands before her husband, ended petty disputes between houses and unified the Seven Kingdoms which enabled hostile regions like the North to not suffer during famines. They were also religiously tolerant - allowing the people to choose whatever religion as long as they followed the law. We only see the biased views of the Starks, Baratheons and Lannisters in Game of Thrones but in reality pre Mad King all these houses were very loyal to the Targaryens.
Caraxes was considered a dangerous dragon. As one of the powerful dragons in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, his strength, fiery breath, and combat skills made him a formidable force on the battlefield. His involvement in various battles during the Dance of the Dragons highlighted his ability to cause significant destruction and pose a threat to his enemies.
If you flip numbers often while reading you might have "Dyscalculia" which is like Dyslexia with letters but with numbers. You can have both or one or the other, or maybe neither.
Daemon doesn't want to be king. He disdains the Westerosi as lesser and his true aim is to restore his House to the glory it had before Maegor screwed everything up. (And before the Faith of the Seven started shit with his family, but. You know.) Daemon values one thing (other than Caraxes and Rhaenyra): Valyria. His blood tie to it, its history, the fact that in his mind, being the bearer of both makes him better than everyone else not related to him. Now, House Velaryon has intermarried with House Targaryen since at least Aegon I's time, sooo... uh. Corlys isn't dying that hair, lmao.
The "Don't fuck until age XY"-laws only became a thing, because there were so many child prostitutes - especially in england - that the red-light districts could no longer contain their sheer numbers (they were that popular) and once they started to pop up in the rich, nice parts of towns, the monocle and tophat wearing people in charge were like: "Not in mine neighbourhood"! - and they declared that no girl under the age of 13 shall be allowed to be a prostitute. And over the last 200 or so years that got expanded upon more and more. Was totally normal until some time ago. In Japan literal CP was legal until the mid 1990s. And when my grandpa (RIP) was a teenager, it was still common for men to marry girls aged 13, despite being twice that age themselves. I find it strange how the post WW2 powers that be managed to brainwash people into going from "totally normal" to "eugh"! in less than 1 generation.
Can I just say that the Targaryen can only ride or bond with one dragon so the others dragons are free to do what they want and will not listen to a Targaryen that already has a dragon. Another thing is that corlys or the one you call failure in the end actually spoke the truth about the king and his house is the richest in the empire because of him.
Remembering characters names is not that easy, especially in GOT universe. People need to remember you're pretty much avoiding information about them (outside the comments). You're doing a great job so far and I kinda agree with most of your characters assessment.
As we can see, taking Alicent Hightower as wife means for VIserys his deep will to get a boy as heir......even if he choses before his daughter Rheanyra. Viserys is hurry to have heir (s).....That explains a lot why he refused Leana Velaryon.....a twelve child... Viserys clearly lacks long term vision...it's not like he was close to dying and needed an heir suddenly soon...
Of course the marriage alliances are crazy by today’s standards and morality. But if you look into the history of England’s medieval kings you will find that a great number of them married princesses that were 12 years old. They would set up a separate court for the queen and often not even live in the same castles most of the time. They were seen as business and political alliances, even if the need for heirs was also an all important goal. So when I read or watch something based on that period of history I look at it through that lens. The author of A Song of Ice and Fire has made a point of saying that adolescence is a modern construct reflecting our modern values. But I will countenance that the scene between Viserys and the little Lady Laena is meant to be shocking when you see how young she is, especially in contrast to the middle age Viserys.
Thank you Suzy for sharing your health issues with us, you were not at all obligated to do that, specially not to respond to stupid people trolling you. Wishing you all the best girl! ❤
the blood and the sigils represent the targaryen bloodline through history. it has nothing to do with the fact that they are dead. and the targaryens did not have a bad reputation in game of thrones, not even the mad king. so that is another one of the bullshits that D&D invented for the show.

Funny Steejo is right on the Money about Alicent. Alicent Hightower and the Hightower are ancestors and decesendants for Marjorie Tyrell. For your information.
Also: the Faith of the Seven hates House Targaryen. House Targaryen has a...bad history with the faith. See: how Visenya wanted Maegor to raze the Starry Sept. :') But it extends to a Westerosi or Andal vs Valyrian thing. House Hightower has a long and not so esteemed history with the faith. One of their male family members was the head of the church of the faith, basically, during the latter part of the conquest/into Maegor's time. The fallout was interesting. But that is influencing Otto's wanting to destroy House Targyen. If you believe he cares about Viserys? Oh, you sweet summer children. No. He cares firstly about his family attaining power (Like Daemon, irony; and also, he's a second son too) and then about Andals wresting more power from the Valyrian descendants ruling their country. He doesn't just want to rule. He wants them, and their dragons, gone. Poof.

I can kind of sympathize with getting numbers scrambled and forgetting names. I've always been a bit dyslexic with numbers, and I transpose digits regularly. And I've always been horrible with names... even when I was younger, not only now that I'm officially an "old fart". And in this "universe" with so many odd names and spellings, it's easy to get confused.

Yeah, the actress is essentially putting on a fantasy French accent because the people from Lys are supposed to be fantasy France. I guess the silver lining is that it is NOT her natural accent ...she is putting on an accent for this role so it's a VERY not easy to understand THICK accent but it's also not her actual accent so there's that, I guess.
46:48 In the US, it depends on the state (because things like age of consent are not normally within the federal government's realm of competence). It's 16 in Alabama, Alaska, American Samoa, Arkansas, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Georgia, Guam, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, the Northern Mariana Islands, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Vermont, Washington, and West Virginia, 17 in Colorado, Illinois, Louisiana, Missouri, New York, Texas, and Wyoming, and 18 in Arizona, California, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Kentucky, North Dakota, Oregon, Tennessee, the United States Virgin Islands, Utah, Virginia, and Wisconsin. There are some notable caveats, though. Most states have close in age exceptions, which allow people who are close enough (typically a difference of 36 or 48 months) in age to one another to engage in sexual relations regardless of the normal age of consent (so, for example, an 18 year old won't be prosecuted in a state having a close in age exception for having sex with their 17 year old girlfriend/boyfriend). Also, some states where the age of consent is below 18 have established laws that raise the age of consent to 18 under certain circumstances (for example, in Minnesota the age of consent becomes 18 if the older person is in a position of authority over the younger; in this case, with no close in age exception). All in all, though, I think some reform is in order. While the US tends on the higher end in its ages of consent when compared to other places, I think these 16 and 17 year ages of consent, and perhaps even the 18 year ages of consent, are too low. Part of me would like to see the age of consent increased to 21-25, with a close in age exception patterned on the half your age plus seven rule.

Turns out that last year, Japan increased the age of consent from 13 to 16 years old.
Correction they did have a bad reputation in the show as the writers had a obvious bias against them , in the books they don't have a bad reputation.
@@thatoneblackdude3333 that’s what i just said 😭
@@Longshanks1690 fawning over her ? They literally changed her character since season 2 as well as butchered her essos arc and dumbed down her character to the point that it's unrecognizable from her book counterpart, just because they weren't spouting mad queen nonsense from the beginning doesn't mean they liked her at best they liked how they could profit off of her name .
@@Longshanks1690 targs where loved most of the time only in recent history are they a mixed bag.
@@Longshanks1690 it's not just butrching her arc again they literally changed her character book Dany age show Dany are 2 completely different people, they removed a lot of her personality traits , made her seem demanding and unreasonable, spoiled and entitled, violent and impulsive, lacking political skills, they changed her dynamic with the people of essos like how we don't here people waiting for Dany to save them in other cities, or the former slaves love and devotion to her , what they say in interviews or behind the episode means nothing they said Dany wasn't her father in season 7 behind the episode only to make her just like her father a season later so forgive me for taking there words with a grain of salt , I do aggre they clearly hated stannes but they didn't like Dany ether it's very obvious if you pay attention to how different her character and arc is in comparison to her book self they both where done dirty.
The only way to snub Velaryon harder than this surprise not-the-expected-name reveal, was to put three trumpeters behind his chair to play "womp womp woooooomp" riff at the right moment.
Damon .. Damian . . Matt Damon. That’s it! They need Matt Damon!
Great reaction, you two!
YAAAY i've been checking daily for this reaction, cant wait for you guys to react to this whole season.
I get the confusion their similarities are only with the initial letter of M and the last syllable of "eh". The red woman's name is Melisandre and Grey worm's girl's name is Missandei
Wrong as usual! Let this show come to you! They don't dye their hair blonde, they're born with it, like House, House of the Dragon!
Funny Steejo is right on the Money about Alicent. Alicent Hightower and the Hightower are ancestors and decesendants for Marjorie Tyrell. For your information.
17:06 they show what it looks like after many years of peacetime. In Game of Thrones everything was very unstable.
Poof.
I actually love your accents first of all I live in Montana but I have a love for anything Irish Scottish, especially accents and is at the top of my bucket list to come visit so I’m curious as to where you are in Scotland and what is amazing around you to see. Love your channel. Thank you very much for doing it.
I think that at this moment in time there are only 3 dragonriders - Rhaenyra, Daemon and Rhaenys.
Indeed. I play the Game of Thrones mod for Ck2/Ck3 and it is certainly similar hahah
39:15 - this probably pushed him to marry Alicent. He couldn't wait 3 years to have another heir and Rhaenyra's "adventure" made clear to him how vulnerable their line is.
Rhaenys is one of the best dragon rider in House of the dragon. And her dragon is one of my top favorites.
Someone noticed the clouds moving when Rhaenyra arrives? ❤
Oh, Suzie and Steejo, sweet children of summer.. Be ready.
Viserys DOES NOT have all the dragons
Thanks for your reactions!
Hi guys👋
Just wanted to chime in and say I've been with you two from episode 1 of Game of Thrones... I really enjoy you guys!!
That last conversation after the show was wild lol
Daemon wasn’t given a dragon when he got banished that’s caraxes his own dragon the king can’t seize him since they are bonded
Seriously i have brain damage in my memory center, i have serious CRS (Can’t Remember Shit) syndrome. Funny thing right there it took me forever to remember how to spell remember. I think i watched GOT 3 times before i really got the names all straight and honestly now i think of Jorah as Batman lol. You guys are great! Love ya!
You guys are so wonderful! ❤ Please don’t stop! 😊
Suzy & Steejo you should know the story of HOTD. Joffrey Lannister and Shireen Baratheon explain it in season 3 and 5. I'm not telling what episodes. You'll have to look up the episodes on your own. ✌
Dismissing + abandoning = Disbanding (Fair enough)
Wondering what i can watch then y'all uploaded so thank you
Same lol
Great reaction! I wonder if you would like to know before if there is going to be a time jump, or would you consider it a spoiler? Any way, is a good idea to watch the episode again.
Comments are mostly terrible, way too many spoilers for this early in the show. Its madness. Mods are definitely needed.
In the past was normal that married in 14th.
I love you guys! you both are doing great and your reactions make my day 💞
I recommend you to watch Interstellar. That movie has the potential to destroy you guys emotionally so be prepared
Patreon?. Didn’t see it there
I can kind of sympathize with getting numbers scrambled and forgetting names. I've always been a bit dyslexic with numbers, and I transpose digits regularly. And I've always been horrible with names... even when I was younger, not only now that I'm officially an "old fart". And in this "universe" with so many odd names and spellings, it's easy to get confused.
14:24 They’re both from the Reach.
2:42 i have seizures that directly affect my hippocampus, and as a result, I have memory issues as well, so I can empathize. 6:48 good thoughts for Finnie! 🐕❤ 8:31 Steejo, you sound exactly the same to me!
I LOVE the fact that y’all picked up on the tension between Rhaenyra and Alicent because I feel like it’s so palpable
Lots of ❤️ for finny!!
Which Patreon tier gets the rest right now?
Oh I feel you with regards to not understanding her accent, majority of Scottish sounds like gibberish to me
Yeah, the actress is essentially putting on a fantasy French accent because the people from Lys are supposed to be fantasy France.
Honestly enjoy your reactions. Hoping one day you’ll react to both- The Last Kingdom, and a sci-fi series called Babylon 5 which aired in the 90s
Otto is this show's version of Littlefinger
Did I hear an episode of Crusader Kings? Steejo play CK2 or Ck3?! Cool!
Don't listen to the show, targs don't have bad reputation alot of people in westorous miss their rule esp during war of the 5 king, there are houses that hold portraits of targ kings, mostly characters compare themselves with targs
Some have heard a targ. The(Dany) is still alive & hold a cup to her return (she hasn't reached westorous in the books yet)
Targs are the wheel that spin the entire franchise the most important & relevant house, people still look at their history with owe
The prince/princess that was promised the savior would come from their line literally
Dany & jon are the only candidates& both are targs
Jon Snow is not like ser crispen
I agree. Both are strikingly handsome men, but look nothing alike.
What did you think of Matt Smith in House of the Dragon?
Just as I was sure all my GoT reaction content was going dry.. we’re saved!
Look, i am one of those that disageed with Suzy on Dany and she is a character i really love both on the show and in the books, but, there is no need to insult someone over it or give them that much shit. I am still really interested in watching you both react to HotD regardless
Dany will ALWAYS be my Queen, that the writers COMPLETELY effed up her character, as well as everyone else, well, just sad really💔
And this is the reason we have House of the dragon and not Bloodmoon 😉
I never got that alisent was gay just close friends because she wasnt in the book
Wow, you guys really saw Alicent and Rhaenyra's relationship different than I did. I got zero lesbian vibes from them. They were best friends. That's all. And Alicent isn't some conniving temptress out to worm her way into Viserys's life. She doesn't want to do it. That's why she picks at her fingernails. But she's also a dutiful daughter following her father's instructions to offer comfort to the king. She's a female and they have next to no say in anything.
Laena Velaryon and House Velaryon, I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU 🫶🏾
I AINT NO SKIPPER!
i mean fellas, if it's gotta be the 16 year old or the 12 year old ...
I'd have thought most men would think its great to have a wife that cant remember anything,
