man i really like watching you guys!! question, instead of those heavy plates why dont you use rebar and drown sliders?? lots lighter, and they dont get hung up as much!
Yes, I have a video on that coming in the future! Yes, they are wet and cold!!! If your hands are in 34 degree water all day handling metal and wet critters they don't last long!
If the county doesn't want to pay a bounty...the least they could do would be to build some nice steps with handrails at the roads!😃 Sure awesome to see all the hard work paying off! Did you loose any traps with the rain? Floods have easily taken more traps from me then animals and humans combined. I sure hope the skinning knifes are all sharp and ready to go. All that sand will be just as hard on the edge as Kenny's "good deal" wood is on chainsaws! Have a great weekend, Gentlemen and thanks for bringing us along on another big adventure!👍
@@outofthewoodyard Bummer...but goes with the territory unfortunately.😕 The spring break ups got me more than once. If I waited till after school they would chew a foot off or something bigger would grab them. I was so young my parents wouldn't let me carry a firearm on the creek banks by myself. Yes, there are a lot of them, we used to muskrat trap a lot also, if they where worth more we would get after them in the fall and winter again. Our best year was when we went to North Dakota in 2011&12, we caught 5,700 in a spring and fall season combined trapping together. Our best 4 day stretch was 303, 354,337 and 389. That was a lot of skinning!
Sorry I only do English but it looks like you want to know what traps we use...a lot of kinds but the Bridger #3 and the Bridger #330 body grip are favorites.
As Rosco would say "I love it I love it" Just one question how many beaver does it usually take to make the hats? Can it be done with just one large rodent?
@@outofthewoodyard I saw on Skidder Kevin's live last week that you got 500+ That is a serious amount of Beaver to...ummmm... Handle. Haha. Was this seasons number typical or was this a bumper harvest?
Hi Chris, great day again ah? I know you make hats from some pelts! For the rest, do you have to skin the beaver, or just sell them dried and as they are! Cheers Len (Devon 🇬🇧)
What do you do with the beaver, i have a hat ordered but with all that you catch it seems like you may have extra that aren't made into hats, i may be wrong, but that seems like a lot of beaver, just wondering,
So roughly how much do you get for a beaver pelt these days? Whatever it is it can't be enough for the amount of work you guys put into it. It sure is some beautiful country up there. Great video as always and to Kenny woooo 👍
@@turklayher4794 It is depending on the size or if it is tanned or not also, tanning is very expensive now and shipping back and forth is getting higher to. $10-15 dried $100-120 tanned $250 for a hat.

to each his own and GOD for us all....Nice days catch.

I just dream of catching 60 in a season. Great work boys, keep the videos rolling.
You can do it, the main thing is to be in a good area where there a lot of beaver!
@@outofthewoodyard for sure. Unfortunately I live in NW Montana 😂😂 Love it here, but not a ton of beaver.

I do not remember that day but yes we catch 30-40 most days and 50-60 others.

Hi Chris... You guys are slaying it. Do you and Ken process them or do you farm that out to a buyer?
Some of both, in the past we skinned all of them but this year we sold almost all to a fur buyer in the round (in the carcass whole)

what kind of oil is in your castor lure ? i can see it slick on the water .
Mineral oil and beaver oil mixed in.

What do you do with the beaver? Sell the pelts?
We sell the whole beaver to a buyer who sells the hides, castors, tails and then feeds his fox the meat.
What do you guys do with the meat from the Beavers?
We sold almost all of the to a fur farm for fox and mink food.
Hey Chris How long does it take to skin one ,average size . Thank You. Craig Pa
Depends, 6-15 minutes depending on the size and if you are trying to go fast.
What happens to the Beaver meat once they are skinned and fur removed?
It is fed to dogs, humans or for fur farms to feed fox or mink.
