    If I had the kind of energy and enthusiasm a typical endler male has, I would rule the world.

    Super tolles video über Endler Guppies. Unglaubliche Farben. Wenn die Männchen doch nur so groß wären wie Schwertträger, dann wären sie die beliebtesten Fische in der Welt. Danke auch für die Reisen durch Deutschland mit Cory Mcelroy.

    Love my Endler guppies! I have a 'Sorority Tank' so that the females are able to enjoy life and exhibit their normal behaviors without being constantly harassed. My males go into the display tank as they sex out and can be seen 'racing' together around the tank in groups of a dozen or more after meal times. Such enjoyable, active, healthy fish! :)

    • @betterthantelevision

      I have a similar setup. The females are far more relaxed compared to the go-go-go of the males. Both fun to watch, and gorgeous fish, I think.

    • @brandonj7458
      @brandonj7458 3 роки тому

      I literally just did the same and the males are still hyper as ever.....not so much dancing as before but the "racing" is almost constant.....have 1 out of 20 random baby blue and black male with a trailing spade tail im thinking of trying a little project with since everyone is seperated..excited

      That is what I do too. That way I can also separate different female colors for future breeding purposes. I only keep the males with the females for breeding purposes otherwise the females get hurt and one time the females killed a male outright.

    Personally (Poecilia wingei) is just Endlers, with (Poecilia reticulata) being Guppies, and (Poecilia reticulata x Wingei) being Endler-guppies, as calling (Poecilia wingei) Endler-guppies implies to most, especially a novice that they are just another Guppy variation, which leads to most of the Endler-guppy hybrids in the hobby. Can't really do anything about it but personally i think Wild guppies should be (Poecilia reticulata), and long term captive Fancy guppies should be something like (Poecilia kallos) meaning beautiful many colours, due to the mass hybridization within long term captive Fancy guppies, Wild guppies and Fancy guppies are definitely no longer the same fish.

    I love Endlers! It's so hard to get Endler females though so I have to crossbreed male Endlers with female guppies. I have about 150 endler guppy fry and juveniles right now. Time to setup more tanks. Lol!

    • @drinny26
      @drinny26 2 роки тому +1

      Mine just gave birth and i caught 7. How long until they grow big enough to introduce them to the tank? The guppies i have are the biggest fish in my tank. Also, my pet store had a lot of females. I bought two and 4 males.

    • @silverbuyer
      @silverbuyer 2 роки тому

      @@drinny26 i just leave the fry in my tanks they rarely if ever get eaten, if they do I haven't witnessed it and wouldn't know it judging by the numbers of fry I have non-stop lol. If you do want them separately they'd probably be ready to go in the main tank within 3-4 weeks if the biggest thing you have is guppies. They grow pretty quick at first and usually start showing a little color after 6-8 weeks.

    How to have an infinite amount of endlers and never have to worry about inbreeding.
    Step 1: Get a bunch of different color types
    Step 2: Add them together in a big tank
    Step 3: Cull any visibly deformed fish or fish that are always getting sick
    Step 4: Replenish gene pool by adding 'Class N" endlers every year to bring back genetic diveristy.
    Having the breeders mix with each other is a good way to get a lot of colorful fish. Mixing class n endlers is just like adding wild stock into a breeding group. If you have too many fish, you can give them away as mixed endlers or use them as feeders.

      No they will not be sterile. They will be able to reproduce just like their parents. This hybridization between guppies (Poecilia reticulata) and endlers (Poecilia wingei) is actually natural and occurs often in the wild, since both species have similar ranges and are very closely related.

    they are guppys both of them. They are as close as black and white people are (same species: Homo sapiens sapiens). Their hybrid fry are not sterile so they are the same species. So the wingei is actually wrong even if people use it.

    • @zebedeemadness2672
      @zebedeemadness2672 Рік тому

      Same genus (Poecilia) different species with Endlers being (Poecilia wingei) and Guppie being (Poecilia reticulata). They share a more common ancestor, that allows hybridization to happen, they are not the same species, the whole all hybrids are sterile is out dated and proven to be wrong many times. Like with us Modern humans (Homo sapiens) are ancestors hybridized with Neanderthal human (Homo neanderthalensis), we aren't the same species only the same genus and we carry Neanderthal human DNA, genetics and morphology proves us to be different species. Ligers was thought to be sterile till they proved they wasn't, again same genus (Panthrea) different species, or are you gonna try and tell me the Lion (Panthrea leo) and Tiger (Panthera tigris) are the same species.
