So nostalgic. Wasn't even born for the release of the Xbox 360 but I played it all the way up until like 2014-2015 when I got my xbox one. I would play so many demos on the 360.
I'm so glad I started collecting 360 and PS3 games seriously a few years back before the shut downs were announced. A lot of the games I picked up for 5-10 bucks have already jumped in price. My Armored Core 4 copy has a $4.95 gamestop sticker on it that will remain there for posterity forever.
My 2 main Xbox 360s are modded, filled with games, emulators and XBLA games. I still have my original console from 2009 which was a replacement from the 2007 Console that red-ringed, which I got at Target. That generation lasted 8 years before the PS4 was released. 2005-2013.
The only games you would need are a pick out of the ones not available for the series X, to mind I think a few are bullet witch, lollipop chainsaw, Remember me, Messiah Kingdom something. There is probably a few more. Why do you guys think they are phasing the 360 out?
Anything that isn't backwards compatible is technically gone in July when the store shuts down. Stuff that works on the Xbox One/Series should still be available.
I wish more people talked about the indie games service. Where pretty much anyone could list a game for a couple of quid on the 360 store. All those games were delisted years back and I have so much nostalgia for so many of them

Gaming was so much fun during the 360 era (except for RRD... happened to me once and was devastating). Luckily, the 360 I (still)have now is still ticking and I'll never get rid of it while it functions.
Yeah MS went a little Multimedia crazy with the Xbox 360. It originally supported Windows Media Center where you could store movies and music on your PC then stream them. It even supported TV Tuner Cards where you plug one into your PC then you could stream live TV content, it also had a built in DVR. I used a ton of those features during the 360 era. Along with all of that were the crazy number of apps.
I remember watching that Xbox 360 launch special on MTV. I was so hyped to get my Xbox and play next gen games. Loved the old blade system to categorize everything. I missed it when it was changed.
Question, if I purchase games in the 360 store, can I play them on my series consoles even if the game is not backwards compatible? Or is it strictly stuck in the Xbox 360 consoles?
I remember getting my first 360 back in 07'-08' and by god was it an experience to remember. Back when the dashboard was the colored folders before they started updating the dash to what it is now. I had games like Burnout Paradise, Rainbow Six Vegas, Minecraft, Forza Horizon 2, GTA V, and so much more to play online with friends. To see it all going away is very sad. I gotta thank Microsoft for the good times had. ❤🎉

i believe the reason mirror's edge is top downloaded is because it was free through games with gold during the peak of the service's popularity. i knew people who only ever played CoD that checked it out and loved it when it was free.
This is definitely the reason. It was peak GwG before the shovelware. It was also early enough that a lot of people hadn't upgraded to the One. Also Mirrors Edge was a well known AAA game, but it wasn't popular enough that everyone that did want to purchase it had already done so. So there were a lot of people getting it just to try it, whereas other GwG titles were popular enough that people had already bought them physically (so not appearing on this store). Games like Halo, Gears, Fable, Assassins Creed were hugely popular, but people had played already so likely skipped the GwG version, whereas Mirrors Edge was interesting but not popular, resulting in massive downloads.
I hope xbox puts all there old 360 games that Microsoft owns under there umbrella I hope they end up on antstream arcade because it would invigorate antstream arcade but Microsoft would have to encrypt the ROM files so they only works on antstream arcades app only we still haven't got antstream arcade on Xbox here and I don't know why every other country has antstream arcade except us on Xbox and from what I've seen so far all the game companies have pulled there bs games from antstream arcade boo u carnts but if antstream arcade and Microsoft have a discussion about getting Microsoft and all there owned companies games on the 360 should goto antstream arcade and antstream takes care of the 360 games moving forward it makes sense because antstream looks pretty bare right now from what I have seen on UA-cam

I still have an unlockable gamer pic on my profile from Final Fantasy XIII
Final fantasy 13, still hold up good today.
The last true great x Box console, the last console they gave a true Fuk about making exclusives that competed and sold consoles.
I am so worried all my rock band downloads will stop working.
Anything you have bought, you can re download from download history in account settings.
My 2 main Xbox 360s are modded, filled with games, emulators and XBLA games. I still have my original console from 2009 which was a replacement from the 2007 Console that red-ringed, which I got at Target. That generation lasted 8 years before the PS4 was released. 2005-2013.
How much u want for 1
The only games you would need are a pick out of the ones not available for the series X, to mind I think a few are bullet witch, lollipop chainsaw, Remember me, Messiah Kingdom something. There is probably a few more. Why do you guys think they are phasing the 360 out?
I love seeing this. It is so shocking to see how hard Xbox fumbled the bag after putting out this amazing gaming product.
I'm confused by this does this mean you can't buy the 360 games anymore on your series/one consoles?
Anything that isn't backwards compatible is technically gone in July when the store shuts down. Stuff that works on the Xbox One/Series should still be available.
u can just wont be able to buy anything from the 360 store specifically.
@@SpawnWave I wonder how many UA-camr's will make a video about this
I know u can only buy skate 2 on 360 but it is backwards compatible. Idk what other games are like that.
@@ghost656metal8ah... the sarcasm is strong with this one 😂
I wish more people talked about the indie games service. Where pretty much anyone could list a game for a couple of quid on the 360 store. All those games were delisted years back and I have so much nostalgia for so many of them
What your not realizing is your getting a chance to buy games that’s being overpriced on ebay now is your chance to buy those games before it’s to late I say $1.00 Vs the price $80 makes a huge difference when the store closes you can then show the scalpers on what pictures of the games you bought they aren’t needed they got screwed I’m enjoying buying games for $1,00
well I gotta say 360 the best gaming season in my life but after my 3rd one stopped working I switched to PS3
Damn I got the OG 360 after saving money cutting yards because I wanted to play dead rising, time flys boys time flys.
I love how there is a Smosh app
Gaming was so much fun during the 360 era (except for RRD... happened to me once and was devastating). Luckily, the 360 I (still)have now is still ticking and I'll never get rid of it while it functions.
Is it just for the 360 or can you still get 360 games on a series X?
Just for the 360. All 360 games backwards compatible and purchaseable on the One/SX will remain the same.
They did have videos, you just had to download the trailer and previews to you hard drive to watch it.
Thanks for doing this. Going through the games list reminds me of what was going on in life at that time.
Thanks now I feel sad AND old 😅😢
I remember watching that Xbox 360 launch special on MTV. I was so hyped to get my Xbox and play next gen games. Loved the old blade system to categorize everything. I missed it when it was changed.
tornado outbreak goes for 150 on ebay and much cheaper on marketplace
Question, if I purchase games in the 360 store, can I play them on my series consoles even if the game is not backwards compatible? Or is it strictly stuck in the Xbox 360 consoles?
If it’s not backwards compatible then yes it’s exclusive to the 360
Anybody wonder why Lollipop chainsaw isn't on the digital store on xbox360?
I was going to check out the store one last time but my system died quickly and freezes on boot. Oh well this will have to do.
All the sound effects of navigating through the dash takes me straight back to senior year of highschool. Crazy!
The price reduction is permanent, not a sale. 💚
You missed most of the games that has been price reduced.
I enjoy how much effort Xbox put into the dash board and how they tried to improve it…. Unlike others…
Games for Windows Live (GFWL) got shutdown back then now this.
Damn man sucks to see my childhood slowly withering away. First, wii and wii u store now 360. This mess scares me for the future of gaming.
This would of been fine if the alternatives didn't suck so much. All the N64 games on NSO are buggy and require a subscription so you can't keep them...
This is your chance to buy the games that being overpriced on ebay on Xbox 360 don’t forget that
I only play Nintendo and PC now. Other than Astrobot, what is even good?
DemoBot 🤦♂️
Gotham City Imposters servers are still online.. I sat in an empty pre game lobby the other day, the game is playable, just dead. People have uploaded gameplay a few months ago on Xbox. On PC it got delisted on Steam but never shut down, as far as I know you still can play the game on all platforms.
You just need to gather people, which pretty much requires finding people elsewhere online and planning a time. Great game though.
@@gk3coloursred Yeah a lot of games have dedicated communities to play with, like people with modded Xboxs host servers on OG Halo games whic requires a dedicated group of players to play at a certain time.
Guys we are living through history right now, the death of the xbox360 damn you microsoft! ~Take it in whilst you can, this console was legendary the onnly time other than xbox classic black it beat playstation lol.
We will be playing 360 at the park.
On multiple 4 player arcades
@@baperacks-com6801 Who's we? I don't want to leave the house to play xbox360 what do you think this is the 90's?
So glad for backwards compatibility and remasters, to make days like these, less sad!
The dashboard looks ideal for a touchpad and a touchscreen.
Love/hate the market place, because that’s where full digital downloads started, which have absolutely ruined the game industry.
The internet was the thing that unlocked gaming to the masses, but simultaneously was the poison pill that slowly killed the soul of gaming
PSP GO was the first digital only
@@loon1994Lmao, wtf does “soul of gaming even f*ckin mean?
Red Dead 1 and 2, Elden Ring, Seikiro, TLOU 1 and 2, Ghost of Tsushima, Days Gone, Cyberpunk, Portal 2, Mass Effect 2, God of War 2018, TW3, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Bioshock trilogy, Bloodborne, Skyrim, TLOU, Fallout 3, Dark Souls 1, 2 and 3, Far Cry 3, GTA 4, COD MW2, the Gears of War games, Batman Arkham trilogy…
ALL examples of games (newer and older) that released when digital storefronts are established norms within gaming. Hasn’t ruined the essence of gaming at all.
Still quality games coming out with each and every year.
I camped out at a Best Buy for my 360 when it was released. To this day it’s my favorite console of all time and I still believe it’s one of if not the best looking console of all time.
I got a modded 360 with 5tb of storage mainly for delisted games and preservation. Wish I’d gotten games like Outrun 2 and Marvel vs Capcom before they were delisted so I could still play on my series X, but I’m not even sure if they work with the newer console. Either way thanks for the heads up I went and grabbed a few I really want to keep long term.
Microsoft's last great system and the last system with Halo with couch co-op, I've had no reason to buy any Xbox's since this.
360 netflix with ur and Friends avatars was lit
There are 100+ non backwards compatible games that are on a permanent discount until the store closure on July 29th. More games will be announced for discount on July 16th.
THIS PART
I just got my xbox working 9 days agoand missed this dang
Starting around February, I would buy every Xbox Live Arcade game I was interested in and every piece of DLC for every game that I own that interested me. It took me far longer than it had any right to, but I finally finished up last month. I thankfully no longer feel like I'm missing out on anything, thank god. 😅
By the time full game downloads came out they were selling bigger hard drives
I remember getting all of Sam Fishers outfit items for my Avatar when playing Conviction...THE MEMORIES!!!
The current sale is for non backwards compatible games. Anything that can be played on Xbox One will be purchasable after the shutdown.
I remember dead rising 2 case zero demo was actually long for a demo
I played the hell out of the Sleeping Dogs demo back on PS3 before it came out. The demo consisted of two missions. The first part of the demo was the mission where you had to chase down Ming in the marketplace. The second part was the middle portion of the mission where you raided Dogeyes' sweatshop and kidnapped Siu Wah.
I didn’t feel old until you said the 360 came out 20 years ago.
Why do they shut down anything does it bother them or something?
After the shutdown I’m still able to download free DLC for games I own. Even if I never Downloaded it before.
Interesting
i believe the reason mirror's edge is top downloaded is because it was free through games with gold during the peak of the service's popularity. i knew people who only ever played CoD that checked it out and loved it when it was free.
I wish they still let people buy stuff in the original avatar shop on other Xbox consoles
This was the last console generation, that I REALLY enjoyed. Back then, even AAA still dared to try unique and crazy stuff.
I truly miss that era in gaming...
Loved those avatars 😭 Things just aren't fun anymore everything so boring and serious.
Mirror’s Edge was probably on sale dirt cheap recently I bet, maybe it only cost like a dollar or something then. Love or hate EA, they do often times do good sales on their games, the opposite of stingy Activision.
I remember my avatar looked like Carmine from Gears of War 3.
